I have visited Baku for a few days and chose this hostel because of location, but was blown away as it was in mint condition! They told me that they were closed for 2 years because of Covid, but have now re-opened from May 1 and can't wait for Formula 1 to begin next month as they have balconies facing the track! Super cool dorms, and they also have private rooms with bathrooms for families and couples. Would definitely recommend to everyone coming to Baku, as it is a great budget accommodation option.
Booked for a trip that was supposed to happen in April. THEY canceled my reservation and assured me my deposit would be reimbursed. I understand that COVID happened but dont’t promise something and then proceed not to answer any of my messages. This is very unprofessional. When I’ll eventually visit Baku, I’ll make sure to go somewhere else!
Sahil Hostel and Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was really beautiful and good and clean hostel and near the sea. And value of money. And also comfortable. I really like it. If I come back to Baku in my life I would like to stay again there.
Stayed here for 2 nights with a friend in September 2019. We’d taken the overnight train from Tbilisi to Baku so arrived in the city at 9am in the morning. After a bit of breakfast at the station, we took the metro to the hostel which is about an 8 minute walk with luggage from Sahil station. The hotel / hostel is just off the street in a slightly shabby looking communal stairwell. There’s a lift in the corner which goes directly to the floor that the hostel is on. Once you’re there, things look more like the photos and very modern. Check in was quick and fortunately our room was ready even that early in the morning so we were able to drop off our stuff and have a shower. We booked a private family room with en-suite, so had a king size bed plus a bunk bed even though there was only two of us. The room was a good size and beds looked pretty new. The layout was good as the plug sockets were right by the beds plus the bunk beds had built in lights and a curtain. The bedding was all clean and the room was spotless. We didn’t hear anything from adjoining rooms so slept well but the blind for the window did let a bit of light in first thing in the morning. The bathroom was a little small and had a shower, sink and toilet. The shower was okay - it didn’t drain the water that well and my showers were fine, however my friend’s were not; the hot water was a bit inconsistent although the water pressure was okay. There towels were fine. We didn’t have breakfast at the hostel but you can for 8 manat. There’s also a kitchen, communal areas and a laundry room. There’s a small fitness area (spinning bike and pull up bar). The WiFi was good and had great signal strength and speed. Overall, we felt this was an adequate stay for what we paid. The hostel is in a good location to go exploring.…
I don't know what's going on in their hostel. I booked in their hostel for new year (national ceremony and high season) 3 months before on booking.com Unfortunately they canceled my booking without reason and notification. I called them, send email and tried all possible ways to contact them, but they rejected me. I know it is their high season and they want to earn more. I even can pay more for booking on high season. But it doesn't make sense to cancel my booking and no responce to my emails and call. It is an international hostel, PLEASE have professional behavior. It help your business and tourism industry in your country.
The Sahil Hostel is located in a great neighborhood and is within walking distance of just about all Baku has to offer. The hostel itself (located on the second floor of the building) is inviting and secure. (There is also an elevator near the staircase that I missed upon arriving at night.) I found the mattresses a bit hard, but other than that the bunks were well thought out in order to meet a traveler's needs. The room was also nice and spacious. If you're in the female dorm near the common room, bring earplugs as it can get a bit loud. If I'm ever in Baku again, I'd definitely stay at the Sahil Hostel again! I even ran into an old friend from college who was also staying here. Great minds think alike!
it was my first time i stayed in a hostel and it turned out to an unforgettable one. clean beds and sheets and towels. very good location and close to all landmarks of Baku also a safe area in nights. metro station and supermarket and Azarcell were so close. in kitchen clean dishes were available for everyone. but in morning finding a free bathroom was difficult even in low season i was there. maybe they need to add some rest rooms.
Stayed here for 3 nights in November to watch the Wales football match. Was in a family room with 3 other blokes. Decent size room. Plenty of storage space. Good shower. Common room was pleasant (Only had a few coffees in the morning) and whole hostel has a good vibe. Location is excellent 5-10 mins from main bars and restaurants. Hostel will sort a taxi from airport if you ask. Highly recommend if basic but clean is what you're after (that's a compliment btw). Very reasonably priced.
The atmosphere is very positive and friendly. It’s completely clean and the facilities are very great. Its price is very reasonable based on the facilities. I really enjoy it😍😍😍 I met some people with different nationalities and I became familiar with their beautiful culture.
This is a good value hostel ideally located close to all the main tourist attractions in Baku. Staff were very helpful and private room was clean and good value for money. They were also able to order us a taxi to the airport at 4:30am which was a lifesaver!
