The building doesn't have any indication it has hotel facilities, the entrance is almost hidden and the reception is on 7th floor. Very basic and functional, also houses hostel rooms on some floors. We had a one bed apt for 3 adults - compact and efficient. TV had only one English channel. Breakfast was reasonable spread- continental and local dishes, however no room service or restaurant facilities. Wi Fi worked well. Location is just off the main road and a few minutes walk to Republic Square and Vernissange market. Many taxi drivers did not recognise the hotel name - we had to use the street name to direct them. Clean and well maintained but not 3 star - bit over rated.

I have stayed at so many hostels in my life, and this one is ranked one of the top 20 places I have seen. A great location, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and quiet, and good breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious.

It is situated a stone throw away from the city centre yet away from all the hustling and bustling. All the staffs were great, very helpful and friendly. The kitchen staff also were very nice, one in particular who was so sweet to me and very nice. The rooms (because I stayed in 3 different room) were all very nice size with all of them having everything that's needed. Thank you to you all for making our stay fun and enjoyable and also thank you for agreeing to put Mauritius on your world map display in the kitchen.

I had a vacation in Armenia last November 28 to December 4 2018 and i stayed in Kantar Hotel. Now, i will tell you my experience. First, their Air conditioner was not working as per the reception and they adviced me to open the window instead since its cold outside which i don't think a good idea. Secondly, they only provided 1 complimentary bottled water during my entire stay so i had to buy my own water. Lastly, on my last day which was December 3, 2018 i went to their kitchen around 10pm to get some coffee and when i finished my coffee and about to go back to my room the reception told me that i need to wash my cup and spoon because according to him that's their hotel policy. I was so surprised and dismayed with that experience as i was on a vacation, booked a hotel to relax but this hotel treated me like a dishwasher. This are the reasons why you should not stay in this hotel because they will just ruin your vacation.

Response from Armen F, General Manager at Kantar
Responded Dec 11, 2018
Dear Kim, Thanks for the time you spent to share your experience at us. It's a pity you did not enjoy your stay in Kantar because of series of misunderstandings. We strongly believe that most of your negative impressions were affected from the fact, that we were not able to refund your non-refundable reservation. Anyway, here are some remarks: - The complimentary water is being provided only on the day of check in. We do provide it for our guests to allow them enjoy the check-in process after a long/short journey and not to think about buying water from minibar or nearby markets. If you had warned the reception that you are displeased with the fact of the absence of free water they would have told you not only about the first-day water policy, but also about the fact, that the water from the tap is drinkable. - As it is a winter season currently, the hotel is running a central heating system instead of air conditioning. Learning about the issue in your room the receptionist offered to either lower the heat or to turn it off or even to open the window for the immediate effect. It was up to you which option to choose. - Let us deeply apologize if our employee has offended you by the manner of his remark. You were using our shared kitchen facilities, where our guests are welcomed to use all the kitchen equipment to cook, eat or drink. It’s a self-service area and we do ask our guests to clean up after themselves. The only reason we do so is our concern that every guest entering the kitchen will enjoy the complimentary tea/coffee or shared kitchen amenities without having to clean up after the previous guest. But, however, you are right: one cup and one spoon do not deserve a mention. Sorry about that. Hope your experience in Kantar did not affect your general impressions about Armenia! And hope to see you again in our beautiful country. Wish you all the best in your future trips!!!
