- Voyager7837907 contributionsThe BestI never stay anywhere else. It is very central for everything wort doing in Nha Trang. Beach, restaurants, bars, shopping and cafes. Breakfast is good and comprehensive. Rooms are big and comfortable with quality inclusions. Good movie and documentary chanels. Everything a real 4 star hotel should be. However, what makes this hotel a great place to stay is the wonderful staff. Friendly staff, good breakfasts, clean rooms, ability to pick towels for the beach, not far from the sea line. We were on the 14th floor and water flood was perfect as well. The hotel is in a good location, two blocks from the beach. If you get one of the more expensive rooms you will have a little balcony and can just see it. My room was spacious and nice. So far, so good. The staff speak hardly any English though and are generally not helpful, which is a first for me here in Vietnam. The rooftop pool has definitely seen better days but is still nice for watching the sunset.

Before today I have never left a bad review for any business. However, our experience at the Galliot Hotel was so bad that I had to write one so that others would avoid this hotel and not be disappointed like we were. The main reason for this was the staff. Unlike most places we stayed, not one of the staff could speak any English, making it hard to book cabs/activities and ask and questions. Whilst we understand there is a language barrier, they were extremely rude about this and began to ignore us when we went to the desk. To make matters worse, after leaving the hotel my son had noticed that he left a new shirt in the room. After leaving several emails and calling the hotel, they never got back to us and ignored all of our attempts to contact them. We even went through a travel company to contact them in Vietnamese, who despite chasing multiple times still never heard back. This was also communicated after only two days, and so there was no excuse that the shirt was not returned to us. Given that the shirt was in the room when we left and never given back, I even consider this theft as they knew who's property it was. The breakfast was poor too, with no butter, broken toast machine and little options outside of the pho. Please avoid this hotel at all costs and avoid our mistake. Nha Trang has so many great hotels which would be a better option than this one.…

I never stay anywhere else. It is very central for everything wort doing in Nha Trang. Beach, restaurants, bars, shopping and cafes. Breakfast is good and comprehensive. The Galliot personnel aim to please and make you feel welcome. Lovely spa on site with manicure etc facilities. Excellent outside swimming pool on top floor looking out over the city. Breakfast needs a bit of attention. Rooms and beds are comfortable and roomy. Lovely restaurants and shopping experience in the vicinity with ample marts

I was coming at around 5 a.m. and checking out at about 3 a.m. So I asked to check me in earlier considering I was leaving in the night (the night I fully paid). I even wrote in advance. When I arrived, there were enough rooms and mine was ready. Receptionist guy refused to let me in and offered to take a couch in a lobby and wait till 2 pm. That even sounded rude. They do not care at all about satisfaction of their guests. When I asked how I can get in my room earlier, he said I need to pay half day rate of 900k. I checked out Galliot on booking.com and the rate for a full day was 1200k and there WERE all type of rooms available! I said let's make it at least 500-600k, that Booking offers a much better price and he said to use Booking then, his price is official (on the wall). Eventually he sold me for 800k! And it's considering I had a deluxe room with balcony paid for 12 nights. I was living in a double room alone (fully paid double room and did not have any discounts for leaving alone in a double). But I even could not have a guest to my room. We came at 9:53 pm and the reception would let us through! To cut it short, nothing helped. All they said "buy one more room"! Even the alleged hotel manager. I travel a lot. That staff is the worst ever. Congrats. Again they offered prices much higher than on Booking.com and although there were rooms available I did not feel like paying a penny to that filthy hotel staff. So I booked room in another hotel (for 400k per night) and I should say it is almost as good as Galliot's (also with the balcony). So Galliot is way OVERPRICED. It's not worth the money they ask for. Considering their staff and policy I would NEVER recommend to stay in Galliot. If you feel like paying more than less, then stay in Citadines, which is just across the road from the beach. They almost never smile (only some waiters smiled and sometimes female receptionists, but men-receptionists rule and decide there), they are no polite or courteous. For such overpricing I expect some general courtesy. The funny thing is that the receptionist guy at the cheaper hotel for 400k per night greeted and smiled as you expect at 5* hotels. Now the hotel. Rooms spacious, clean and tidy. They are good. Balcony – is good to have. View – not so much. AC is above your bed and blows right into you, there is no blow-direction that would allow you to avoid direct blow in your head. I slept without AC with an open balcony door (+30 outside at night). It was ok, though I would prefer to have AC (blowing no directly at me). Cleaning first 5-6 days was great – I never saw them coming and room was clean. After – they always came in when I was in the room, in a very inconvenient time, I asked to come back in some time but they never returned that day. So then I just asked to change towels and leave me water. Poor service. Breakfast – in 12 days they never served mango. Usually among fruits it's: guava, small green apples-like, dragon fruit and then sth from passion fruit, pineapple, longan or papaya. A few salads and a few hot dishes, pancakes, eggs. I guess, it's not bad, but it could be better too. Breakfast time is only till 9.30. I'd prefer it longer or not at all. I will definitely come back to Nha Trang, but no way in this hotel – you can find a better one! Stay out of this one.…

I have stayed at Galliot several times and I like it a lot! Last time was between 19 March - 1 April and it was great as usual. The location is perfect, close to the beach,restaurants and pub's. I will probably go there this summer again. :)

Yes the location is good. It’s close to Lanterns Restaurant, the Sailing Club et al. The beds are fantastic. Breakfast was tailored for the many Russians who stay here. Fruit ran out some mornings. Lots of salad. Our window looked onto a concrete wall. I should have complained and asked to be moved but was tired after our international flight. I was disappointed with the ‘rooftop bar. Always deserted. Very comfortable hotel. Nothing special. Will try a different one next time.

Good clean rooms and located in a central area. Close to the beach and entertainment. The staff was very helpful. We had to leave early for our flight, so the staff made us a breakfast meal we could eat while in the taxi.
