Very friendly and fun staff, laid-back backpacker vibe, great location in an alley just outside the city center, so not too touristy and with some great local places around. Very social place with communal dinner, interior with lots of wood. The house bulldog Gon is a star.
The Tigon Hostel has long since gone. It doesn't exist anymore, since about August of 2017, even though it still shows up on some booking sites. It has been taken over by a new management team, it has been refurbished and is now called The Dreamers Hostel.
This hostel was a great find. A perfect location as in the centre of the new town near many shops and restaurants, and the area felt safe and clean. The hostel was very clean, beds were comfy, and staff were very helpful. It was not in any way a party hostel, and is not the place for you if you want to meet people. However, it's relaxing hotel-like vibe was a pleasant break from the hectic travelling through big cities. Breakfast was cheap (under 1 USD) and was tasty and filling. My one qualm was that we booked an airport through the hostel and we were fairly ripped off with the money the hostel took from us when they arranged payment - I would advise hailing a taxi by metre for any journeys instead. Overall, I would definitely return and would recommend it for all friends and family looking for good value and good quality.…
In their adverticing they said buffet breakfast was included but it is not. The price isn't much but they did not hold true to their booking info. Also, It was too dirty. The worst part, is that they keep your passport without even telling you!! This is not allowed. They played around acting like they are looking for it for over 30 mins. It wasn't until we complained that she opened a purse that contained everyone's passport.
Myself and four other friends had a great time at this hostel. The staff gave us great recommendations for food and activities, and they set up our bus to Hoi An. Everyone was so friendly. The location was perfect, near the bars and restaurants but just far enough to be able to get away from the craziness and noise. One of my friends was even able to practice yoga on the balcony every morning.
