Detailed Reviews
The hotel is in a good central location and fine for a stopover. However, I would not recommend it for several nights. The soundproofing between the rooms and outside is very poor. Like other travellers we were also kept awake all night from street noise over the Tet Festival period.
The hotel is clean and has a decent bar and restaurant area. The breakfast is fine but nothing special. The gluten-free bread was indescribably awful and not really edible but everything else was satisfactory. The Staff were very helpful and eager to please.
The public areas were well maintained but our bathroom needed some serious attention due to black mould around the bath etc.
Overall I wouldnt give it a 4* star rating.

Glad that we booked this hotel due to its superb location. It is in a more upmarket part of town, surrounded by a large number of shops and eateries, including good class restaurants. The older part of town (where the Ben Thanh market is located) is within walking distance.
Our rooms did not face the main boulevard, and though we could hear some street noise, it did not bother us at all. I think generally cityfolks would be very used to this type of constant background noise, but perhaps travellers who come from the countryside might look for hotels that are not in District 1.
Our rooms were the refurbished ones, and met our expectations. We liked it that the rooms were spacious and brightly lit, had lots of power points and the WiFi had excellent download speeds. We also liked it that the hotel had plenty of connecting rooms, which was a feature we looked for to cater to our family of five. The only flaw was the design of the shower area, which could cause water to flow out into the toilet area. We asked for extra towels to stop the water flowing out.
Breakfast spread was pretty average. The overall service standards were acceptable. Staff could understand English and were helpful.
On the whole, we are pretty satisfied with this hotel and would definitely be back!

Nice location in City Center on active Nguyen Hue Boulevard. Booked by our Gate 1 Tour, the hotel's restaurant and bar did not disappoint, and the staff was always friendly and welcoming. Nice lobby area, however; the third floor level where our room was located seemed in need of some carpet freshening-up. Our room was nicely appointed with a large bathroom, but be cautious as the shower floor was very slippery. Lots of nearby restaurants. Around the corner from the Bitexco Financial Tower and out front, the pedestrian-friendly promenade runs the center of the busy Nguyen Hue Boulevard. Starbucks is next door should you require an espresso.

This is rated as a 4 star hotel, it is absolutely ridiculous there is NO sound proofing in the room. Music blaring from outside all night long. We are aware there is no control what happens outside but soundproof the windows!!!!!
We stayed 3 nights, first night we eventually slept through it exhausted from travel and did not need to get up early next day, Second night we eventually slept, my husband no so much but probably should have complained and moved then.
Reception answered straight away and was apologetic. Not a staff problem.
But seriously soundproof the windows asap.
Yes we were offered to move when we rang but it was too late almost 2am and we had early flight. Couldn't deal with packing up everything at stupid o clock.
They sent poor maintenance guy to check window.....for what?
I asked for ear plugs.....don't think reception understood.
So if you need some few hours sleep DO NOT Stay here.
Central location perfect for walking.
Had breakfast buffet included in our room which was ok only ok.
Staff were helpful and very polite.
Spa was closed so can't comment on.
Rooms need updating but clean and roomy. (Deluxe Double)
Just soundproof the windows 🙄
It makes a great day sightseeing a nightmare night. So disappointing.

My Vietnam home from home! I always know I am in Vietnam when I see the hotel come into view.
This place is so good I have stayed three times and planning a fourth (all things permitting). All of the staff are welcoming, helpful, always willing to give any advice, and make you feel like part of the family - not just a customer. The rooms are wonderful, good sizes for a great price, clean, and beds are good sized and comfortable. All the expected facilities are on hand, and amenities available.
The location is perfect, right in the heart of District One, within walking distance of Notre Dame/Post Office, the Viewing Tower, and the river. There are also plenty of shops/restaurants/markets/bars nearby that are worth a visit. And at the weekend the whole area becomes the focal point for locals to gather and enjoy the evening.
I would, and have, recommended the hotel to anyone who is visiting HCMC, and I look forward to walking up the steps and into the grand lobby once again.
I hope everyone stays safe and the Saigon Prince will remain for many, many years to come.

It was our revisit here for the Christmas Seafood Buffet Dinner since our last trip in 2019, before Covid19.
The Grill restaurant, almost unchanged, is cosy and nice and the buffet price had up a little but in return, there's free flow of lobsters and softdrinks/juices (that were not included back in 2019). It's well maintained and clean too.
The restaurant was almost full house and the spread was good, mostly seafood. Other than lobsters which you need to order from the staff (and how you would like them to be cooked), the other dishes like crayfish, crabs, prawns, beef, oysters etc were all self-service.
The food were nice and fresh, and we enjoyed ourselves as much as our previous visit.
Staff were efficient in clearing used plates and serving drinks and food (i.e. lobsters) and were polite.
Highly recommended and it's a good value for money considering the spread and quality and cost about USD35.

Some really good things about this hotel but also several annoyances.
The room was large, clean, with plenty of furniture including a desk and an easy chair with lamp, very comfortable for reading.
The breakfast area offered plenty of seating and a wide variety of foods including omelets made to order. Tempting to try everything, hard to resist overeating. Loved it.
The hotel faces a long plaza where people walk day and night, sometimes with buskers and vendors. Very pleasant place to be.
Lucky grocery store on an upper floor just across the street to buy water, snacks, etc.
However, the pool and spa (massage) were closed. Street noises from the plaza (see above) were troublesome enough to need earplugs for sleep, especially on weekends.
Worst was the lighting system. Most of the lights, including the bed lights, were controlled by a touch screen panel on the SIDE of the bed table. Apparently the hotel considers that a clever innovative design but here is the problem: There are no knobs to feel so a person has to see the screen to operate the lights, and because the touch screen is on the SIDE of the bed table it can't be seen while in bed. A person literally has to get out of bed to turn a light on or off. And if a person is sleeping on the opposite side of the bed it means getting up and walking around the bed to operate any light. The air conditioning control also is there so adjusting it also means getting out of bed. Stupid.

Enjoyed a very good stay at the Saigon Prince hotel on our tour of Vietnam. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a good shower. The location is excellent and right in the centre of the city for going out and about on tours, to eat and drink or just people watch in this fascinating country. Of special mention is the breakfast buffet, which was excellent - lots of choice and very well cooked. The staff were efficient and friendly. We would stay again and are happy to recommend.

If you want to spend time in an outdated hotel that needs a lot of love and attention as well as arrogant unhelpful staff then this is the place to stay. Our room was musty and smelt. When we complained the room attendant sprayed with a cheap can of odour spray. By opening the windows, this was better than the spray. The breakfast was ordinary at best. The pool was average. The only thing that this place had going for it was its location. I highly recommend elsewhere when staying in Saigon.

Every time when we revisit HCMC, we will surely comeby to this restaurant for our dinner and this recent trip was no different. (our last visit here was on 24 December 2022 for the Christmas Seafood Buffet Dinner)
This time round, the restaurant has been renamed to Ocean Queen (previously was known as The Grill restaurant), although the setting and layout remain unchanged. It was cosy and nice, the buffet price had risen a little because of the Independence Day public holiday but they offered 15% discount. There's free flow of lobsters and softdrinks/juices/house wines and beers.
The restaurant was almost full house and the spread was good, mostly seafood. Other than the lobsters which you need to order from the staff (and how you would like them to be cooked, grilled or steamed), the other dishes like crayfish, crabs, prawns, beef, oysters, musells etc were all self-service. There was also a live cooking station where you can order the noodles and soup.
The food were nice and fresh overall, and we enjoyed ourselves as much as our previous visit.
Staff were efficient in clearing used plates and serving drinks and food (i.e. lobsters) and were polite.
Highly recommended and it's a good value for money considering the spread and quality and cost about USD38-40.

Our understanding is that UnionPay/Union Card is a method of electronic payment in China, similar to Visa or MasterCard.
Not sure if that method has made the leap outside of China as of now. We have not seen it in the states yet.
The UnionPay website states that the card is accepted in 174 countries, but we did not see a listing of countries on their website.
Good luck, best bet would be to call the hotel directly...
