Spent one night here and it was a slice of heaven. Like stepping back in time. Just a beautiful grand old hotel. Rooms were luxurious, high ceilings, marble bathrooms, antique furniture. Fresh fruit on arrival, staff were awesome, and so helpful. Was a complete treat, would have loved to stay longer. Brunch in the open courtyard was tremendous, great selection...

We were drawn to the Continental having travelled around Vietnam on a shoestring five years ago and treating ourselves to tea and cake there. We promised ourselves we'd come back and stay in the hotel made famous by Graham Greene. Cue the disappointment when we realised that the Continental is less colonial charm more stuck in the 70's. The staff...

We stayed here because of the Graham Greene connection. It's perfectly fine but it thinks it's a four star hotel and it isn't by Western standards. It's a shame because it has massive potential and could be really special but it all feels out of date. It didn't surprise me to find out it was owned by the Vietnamese government.

The history of the hotel is the biggest plus. And it's location. We booked a suite but you'd never hear this usually ... It was too big. If I return to HCMC, I'd book an ordinary room instead. I've rated the rooms 3/5 because the hotel does need refurbishment. With the right interior decoration, it would be a wonderful place....

Whenever we are in Saigon we try to get the continental suite here. This was our 6th stay and the staff remain incredibly helpful. On arrival the people in our room had not checked out, had left teh hotel and could not be contacted. The staff, though a little embarassed made sure we had a suite to leave our bags...

Location: can't be more central; you look out on the Opera and you are one block away from the high-class shopping area and town hall Premises: you are staying in a historic building, which has been modernized but still shows its age in some places. If you accept that this is the price to pay, then no complaints here. Room:...

We stayed at Hotel Continental for 4 nights and thought it was pretty average for the price we paid. Our room was big and spacious but as expected of colonial buildings it was quite worn and outdated. Breakfast was pretty good with a great variety, the noodle soup station was delicious. Service at the reception was pretty poor as the...

Good to have a base in this chaotic city with excellent staff who understand English good restaurant and all round genuine 5 star service. The city itself is one of those experiences once you have done it you will not be back

The hotel itself was okay (but not exceptional) but the experience was marred by the Saigon Tourist taxis. The Saigon Tourist taxis that the hotel let's park out the front are con artists. The driver charged us about $25 USD to go from the hotel to the War Museum (1km/5 minute trip). The front desk staff seemed unfazed when I...
