Pros: Great atmosphere with this historic Saigon hotel but, overall I felt there is plenty of room for improvement considering the price. Located in the central area, surrounded by luxury shopping. Good air con, comfortable bed, and good quality sheets. Large room with separate coffee table and 4 chairs, and multiplug electrical adapter were much appreciated. Good wifi. Breakfast staff... Stayed at Hotel Continental for my first visit to Saigon. As a first time visitor to the city, need to stay somewhere central with easy access to all the sightseeing spots of Saigon and the hotel didn't disappoint. Located right in the centre of the city, just beside the Opera House and numerous shopping centers, walking distance to several Saigon... More

This place is a real treat when staying in Saigon. Big, clean and relaxed rooms, with a little terrace. A fantastic breakfast in the patio/restaurant. Great location for everything and superb service!

This is one of HCM's grand old dames, and unfortunately it does appear to be living a little off it's past glories. We had a balcony junior suite on the front of the hotel, and my feelings towards the room are quite mixed. The teak fittings, high ceilings and room decor was absolutely stunning, and the views over the opera... More

We stayed here over Christmas and found the hotel to be a nice colonial style with big rooms and great breakfast choice. There were a few functions taking place during our stay which made the room quite noisy as they look out on to the courtyard. As we were out and about most days it didn't bother us. The location... We loved this hotel. It is old, it is grand and it has buckets of atmospheric old world charm. It hasn't been heavily renovated so it has much of its original features so don't expect shiny glamour. The room was big. We had a Deluxe double which faced into the courtyard with a small balcony. In the two night we... More

Spent one night here and it was a slice of heaven. Like stepping back in time. Just a beautiful grand old hotel. Rooms were luxurious, high ceilings, marble bathrooms, antique furniture. Fresh fruit on arrival, staff were awesome, and so helpful. Was a complete treat, would have loved to stay longer. Brunch in the open courtyard was tremendous, great selection... More

We were drawn to the Continental having travelled around Vietnam on a shoestring five years ago and treating ourselves to tea and cake there. We promised ourselves we'd come back and stay in the hotel made famous by Graham Greene. Cue the disappointment when we realised that the Continental is less colonial charm more stuck in the 70's. The staff... More

We stayed here because of the Graham Greene connection. It's perfectly fine but it thinks it's a four star hotel and it isn't by Western standards. It's a shame because it has massive potential and could be really special but it all feels out of date. It didn't surprise me to find out it was owned by the Vietnamese government.

The history of the hotel is the biggest plus. And it's location. We booked a suite but you'd never hear this usually ... It was too big. If I return to HCMC, I'd book an ordinary room instead. I've rated the rooms 3/5 because the hotel does need refurbishment. With the right interior decoration, it would be a wonderful place.... More
