Stayed here with my partner for 2 nights, staff are friendly and helpful with booking tours to the Mekong and bus transfers going north. You can opt out of breakfast as well which makes staying there about 6 US dollars a night. The dorm rooms have 6 beds and are clean. The aircon only has 1 setting which does the... More

For the 19usd/night price it could have been much worse, considering the great location. Although we originally booked standard double room but when we arrived we got the family room on the third floor, so really can't say if the price is too much for standard room. The family room had big windows and you could even open one. The... More

Unfortunately this place did not meet our expectations at all. Our room was dirty and damp. Nothing like the pictured. There was no window so the A.C just pumped this awful smell around the room. We originally booked for four nights but left after one. If you are a couple wishing to stay here I would advise booking the two-bed... More

At least trip advisor has it correct it's a HOSTEL, they call it a hotel. Dirt room, rock hard bed, no hot water, bad A/C, and I got more bug bites than I can count,Wi-fi does not work, only in lobby and you have to connect to the travel agents wi-fi... Stay away

The hostel has a very good location. Walkable from the HCMC sights like the Ben Tahn Market etc. Public transportation is also accessible from the hostel. A travel agency is located at the ground floor so guests can just ask away for assistance for trips they want to do after their stay. The staff are pretty accommodating and speaks commendable... Good location if you take the nightbus as all the buses stop right infront of the hotel. The rooms are are renovated and have a nice decoration. Nothing looks old or used. I got a new room after I complained about the mould in my room (as there was no window I didnt want to risk to get sick). Friendly... More

My boyfriend and I got there after a sleeping bus that dropped us off at 03:45 in the morning (instead of 06:00) and we only had one night booking for the next nifty. The staff man agreed to let us put our bags there but didn't allow us to be in the lobby so we were forced to be outside... More

Stayed here just for one night as I thought I could find a better hostel/hotel in District 1 for the same money I just paid for a hotel the previous night (in the Mai Home Hotel, which I now in hindsight recommend). The Balo hotel was probably the worst hotel I stayed in during my weeks in Vietnam. It was... More

Great price and location. Booked a 6 person bunk with 3 other people. Very happy with the stay. AC worked well and the people were very friendly! Located just a little bit off the noisy area. But, close for 5 min walk to anything! The market is very close too. Saw everything in district one from this hostel location.

The rooms are very small. There was only 1 electricity outlet for 5 persons. The beds were fine although. The bathroom wasn't very clean. the service of the hostel was fine. It was nice they offer lockers for everyone.
