In addition, the hotel is within easy walking distance of good bars and restaurants. There are atms nearby, making it easy to get local currency without walking far from the hotel. It is also possible to walk to the excellent Ben Thanh Street Food Market, though a taxi is obviously much quicker and doesn’t cost much.
We only stayed in Ho Chi Min City for 4 nights, and this hotel was ideal for our needs, so I’d happily recommend it for a short stay.

We had a corner bath which was great.
Lots of local shops, restaurants and Walking Street all within 10 minutes walk.
When I asked the helpful receptionist (during the day) where is the stair, she told me there is no stair built at this hotel. I then asked what happens if there is a fire or the elevator broke or lost power, she said that everyone has to use the portable ladder to climb down from the window. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? And adding to the insult, there is NO portable ladder available in the room.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO? WOULD YOU STAY AT A PLACE LIKE THAT?
Below are some other nuisance during my first couple nights.
I had some family members come and visit in the evening before we go out for some drinks and the male receptionist at night did not allow them to come to my room. I had to come down to the lobby to meet them. He said the hotel policy does not allow that (as he was expecting some money).
I also asked for an extra pillow in addition to the two provided. The evening male receptionist brought the pillow up but said why I would need another pillow when there are two already in the room. Isn’t it too weird for a front desk receptionist to ask that?!
There were no real restaurants (comfort sitting, A/C, etc.) within walking distance around this hotel. You need to go to District 1 for that.
I hope everyone read my review and stay away from this hotel. There are so many hotel in the price range in the city to choose from. There were some previous reviews about this hotel before mine and I am sure all past as well as current patrons only use the elevator and not even aware about the “No Stair” issue at this hotel. I wanted to write this to raise a big RED FLAG.
When we checked, valuables were missing and damaged (they just grab a plastic bag and put in all our phone/white caps with shampoo and all wet items). SEN VIET insisted we already left and has nothing to do with them, should check before leaving. and WHITE LION deny all responsibility since did not happen in their hotel and suddenly, two hotels arent working that closely anymore. both side pushing to another, so we decided to call the police and was told police does not work on weekends?! hmmm...
After insisting, went to the police station and after communicating in their language, they keep laughing and wasting our time from 3pm to almost 8pm. I took picture of hotel room with our items before leaving that morning. With the proof i have my items and allow them to go to my room to search since they were the one transporting it. more unpleasant incident but so far White lion lady is the only person who knows English and seems really nice. So when they went to search, i deliberately let her enter the room before me and show them everything...When we went back to police station she can claims that she didnt see.... and when i said i let her in first, she said shes standing at an angle that cant see clearly??? the room is only this big.....
Contacted insurance agent and embassy. No one able to help. Was told to get a police report at least since have proof of it. But police refuse to write report claiming he must find out what happened and we have to leave the next day. So in the end we gave up. Embassy did said alot trying to help but it was obviously things that we would have thought about....
White lion first promised to surely settle this issue which they didnt, then say they will give a report which the lady ending her duty and leaving non-English staff and could not reply to anything we asked. manager not able to speak english at all. Since we have pictured of white cap before we left the hotel, she promised to wash that for the very least. When we went to have dinner and came, she was already away and we were told by another staff who knows cantonese that they are unable to wash since we are leaving the next day....whatever they say, empty promises.
"Walk in shower bathroom, ask for a window if possible. Away from dining room to avoid noise of breakfast room."Read full review
