I am attempting to write this review as I am staying here at what is now called Cozy House but I now the WiFi won't even be good enough for me to post it.. So firstly as I stated they recently went under some renovations and have re branded as Cozy house. This made finding the hotel very difficult as the only reason we were aware was another review on here we found. It also made the check inn process a little awkward as we weren't sure we had the right hotel. Now, the WiFi. I guess technically, the network does exist. But like a mythical beast I've never really seen it, only glimpses on occasion. The only place it really works is in the reception, even then it's not great. WiFi is very important to me and I know it is for others. Because of this I moved to another hotel and can't recommend until they fix it. Because there was recent renovations the room is quite nice and very clean. The bed is comfy and overall I liked the room. A couple bad points would be; No windows, atleast in my room Room was on ground floor, ventilation windows in bathroom is basically in the reception. And noise from other guests, I've never had a hotel room next to the reception before. A lot huge amount of noise from the night club next door. Goes on until very early and every night. The good; Big room Nice bed (albeit a double) Good aircon Super friendly staff that don't push you to buy things like ever other hotel. Bought a few tours and laundry. If they fix the WiFi, I would recommend or stay again. …
I stayed in this hotel back in 2013 and was so convinced, that I booked again. This time, they didn't bother to write me back about the airport pickup (unlike last time). I then took a taxi to get to this hotel. One of the staff remembered me and was very friendly, while the others were just cold, but correct. Last time also, I was enthusiastic about the breakfast. This time, things seems to have changed. First of all, even with some time left for breakfast, they kept knocking at my door. Kept coming back until I went for breakfast. The rooms were still nice and clean, so, nothing to complain here. My friends (father and adult daughter) came the next day. They were not happy with the staff at all, they were rude and not helpful. Anyways, we still decided to book here for our return upon the trip to Phu Quoc, as the rooms are big and they could sleep on 2 beds. We were told to send them an email, which we did but never received an answer. We had our staff in the Phu Quoc hotel to call them and then they made the reservation (!). When we came back, they told us that they cannot host us and but they have booked us into another hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel is not in walking distance to Bui Vien (well, the taxi is cheap) and the rooms are much smaller. My friend and his daughter had to take 2 rooms instead and ended up paying more! It is really unfortunate, that this little jewel of a hotel became like this.…
We stayed here (now known as cozy hotel) for 4 nights and as the hotel has recently been refurbished the room was nice as well as being clean. We had a small issue with our shower but this was fixed right away. The hotel is in a great location really near a lot of places. Only issues for us were the wifi being quite bad, we only got wifi reception by the door of our room and the wifi only worked half the time anyway (we were on 6th floor). You can sort of hear music from the Main Street but wasn't enough to stop us from sleeping. I believe there is still some construction going on either in the hotel or next door which was a little annoying in the morning. The staff were all lovely and you can book multiple tours from the reception desk.
The hotel is good. Clean, comfy bed, good water pressure, helpful staff. The area is heavily populated by tourists. So there's plenty of restaurants, plenty of bars, plenty of traffic, plenty of noise, plenty. The good: a lot within walking distance. The bad: a lot within hearing distance. If you're one to be out late at night and are a heavy sleeper this hotel and area are for you. If not, you may want to consider another part of town.
The staff wasn't very nice in this hotel, they weren't really helpful and they seemed annoyed if we asked them something, they even seemed annoyed by us coming in completely wet after we had to walk through the rain. The room was in pretty bad condition, the bed was almost falling apart, there was no lit on the toilet seat, there was dirt on the walls. We had 3 nights there and not once did someone clean the room or bring us new towels. Usually I don't need room service every day, but since there is no shower cabin in the bathroom the whole bathroom floor was wet - therefore there was footprints from walking in there with flip flops. Neither me nor my friend can understand why this place got such good reviews, it was the worst place I stayed in Vietnam and I would never stay there again.…
