Very happy with my stay at LaLuna Saigon. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is very good. Some reviews mention the bathroom being in the room, but as long as you are traveling solo, with a significant other, or with a close friend, I wouldn’t be concerned.

We had booked to stay at the LeBlanc hotel (same owner as LaLuna), however as the room we booked had a leak or something like that we were moved to this hotel instead. Our apprehension for the move quickly diminished after walking into this modern and trendy hotel. Hotel is in a great location close to everything. It is a modern styled studio room with simple and compact, yet comfortable facilities. It is located right next door to a bar that was quite noisy, luckily the music was turned down at 1030pm so we could sleep soundly. Loved the complimentary snacks and drinks as well as the rooftop jacuzzi (even if it wasn't as hot as it stated it would be) Would recommend this hotel. Staff were great in organising our transfer to the airport and spoke great english.

I give five stars in terms of price to value ratio. Please do not expect luxury, lush breakfast or beautiful jacuzzi at the rooftop, what you'll get is:
- fast and helpful staff
- fast internet
- clean and QUIET rooms
- quiet refrigerator and A/C
- free Coca cola, water, juice in the lobby and some snacks
- good location
- cheap price

It is with great disappointment that we have to leave a negative review for this hotel, however you will understand why.

Firstly I would like to start with the good points. The hotel is in a very good location and is a clean nice hotel. The rooftop pool area is small however we didn't use this so it wasn't a issue for us. When we arrived at the hotel they could not find our booking however they were professional and dealt with this very quickly and efficiently. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful.

Now for the negatives. On our third day my partner was extremely ill and had been up most of the night in the bathroom. In the morning at around 7:30-8am while I was sleeping my parter was in the bathroom (the bathroom door is frosted glass aimed towards the bedroom door) he saw something blue and opened the door. It was the cleaner hovering around the TV unit area, what looked like she was trying to clean although she would have seen that I was asleep in the bed and that the bathroom light was on. I woke up and the cleaner noticed and walked out the room. Around 5 minutes later we needed a re-supply of toilet roll so i left the room to get some and the cleaner was stood in the corridor just outside the room and handed money and a receipt to me. Money and a receipt we had left on the side from our meal the previous night.

My partner and I were very confused and concerned about this and we were trying to understand if she had taken the money by mistake or if she had taken it on purpose. Will still don't know the answer but we can't think of any reason the cleaner would be hovering around in our room when she thought we were asleep. We went down to reception and explained the situation to them and asked for the room not to be cleaned again during our tip. The receptionist's response was 'Oh, I will talk to her'. Obviously not very concerned for us and what we had experienced. After this we didn't feel confident leaving any of our valuables in the room nor in the safe so every time we left the hotel we would take these out with us.

The next day my partner was feeling a lot better so we got ready and heading out into the town for the afternoon. When we returned back to the hotel we were shocked to enter our room and see it had been cleaned after us informing the hotel we didn't want the room cleaned for the rest of our stay.

It is such a shame we have experienced this as we truly liked this hotel before any of this happened.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this modest hotel while on our honeymoon, October 2018. We wanted somewhere that was clean and comfortable -- a good value for the price. That sums this hotel up perfectly! Don't expect anything fancy and you'll be pleased!

First off, our international flight arrived at 3 AM! I emailed with the hotel (in English) and they arranged for transportation to come get us at the airport at that hour. I can't say how grateful we were, especially as we'd never been to Vietnam before and figuring out a taxi at 3 AM would have been extremely stressful! There was a wonderfully welcoming man at reception, even at that hour! He swiftly checked us in. Since it was our honeymoon, we had booked a room with a balcony. They gave us the top floor (floor 4), which had a partial "city" view. I highly recommend asking for a room on the 4th floor. BE WARNED, there are rooms at this hotel with no windows. This apparently is common in Vietnam. Make sure to book a room with a window (if that's your thing). Our room had a balcony and even though it was hot during our stay, we sat out on it every morning while we drank our complimentary in room coffee. Lovely!

The room is simply appointed, with a wardrobe, TV, coffee maker and small fridge. The king size bed was spacious and comfortable. There were shelves on either side of the bed for books, your phone, etc. Both sides had USB port plugs so you could easily charge your electronic devices. But FYI, you place the key into a slot near the door and this turns ON the electricity in the room. When you leave for the day and take your key with you, the electricity turns OFF. So nothing will charge during that time. The room also has an adjustable air con unit, which also shuts off while you're out/the key is removed from the slot.

As others have noted in their reviews, the bathroom is all glass and you have to lower a shade for privacy. We didn't mind. This is a "wet" bathroom where you shower in the same area as the toilet. It's sort of an unusual set up, but once again, we didn't mind. The toilet had a fantastic "bidet" feature. Big thumbs up to that. The sink is outside the shower/toilet room.

There is wifi in both the room and the lobby and it works well.

There is a lift in the hotel, but we only ever used the stairs. Breakfast is served in the lobby, from 7 am (maybe earlier, even) until 10 am. It's a simple breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, toast and fruit every morning. But they also serve Nespresso type coffee drinks in the lobby at breakfast!

The employees were all very friendly and happy to get us anything we needed during our stay.

The hotel is located inside a courtyard; it's hard to see from the street. During the day the courtyard is used for scooter parking, but that's not a problem. There is a spa in the same courtyard, but was closed the one time we went to check it out. There are a couple of late-night cafes on the street, but we never heard the noise.

There's a hot tub on the roof, but we never used it.

LaLuna Saigon is located walking distance to EVERYTHING. And when it was too hot to walk, we just called a Grab Car.

Highly recommend!

Our stay at LaLuna Saigon was very enjoyable!

We booked our room using booking.com and requested a Premier Deluxe King room -- and that is what we got. The room itself was large with a king bed that was more comfortable than others we had throughout Asia. There was also a counter/desk area, large cupboard space and a bathroom area that was enclosed with glass (part clear, part frosted). The sink was just outside the glassed area.

The toilet and shower situation might put off some travelers; however, it was not terrible. There is a shade that lowers for privacy and it was no different than a conventional bathroom. In fact, there was plenty of hot water and the shower had great water pressure.

Our room did not have any view to speak of from the windows, but that was not a concern of ours. If you need a window that brings in lots of natural light at LaLuna Saigon, request a room with a balcony. We were on the third floor and we noticed no noise.

The staff at LaLuna Saigon were incredible. So friendly and attentive from the moment we checked-in to the moment we checked-out. We came back to our room one evening after exploring Ho Chi Minh City and heard a knock at the door. It was one of the staff delivering glasses of mango juice! It was so welcome and refreshing!

The breakfasts were good. In our short stay, we always opted for the Vietnamese meal and were never disappointed. One morning, we had a bowl of noodles with broth and beef. The other morning, we had noodles with pork. Both were flavourful and filling.

LaLuna Saigon met our expectations of being clean, quiet and comfortable and we would be happy to stay here again!

To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We booked a Premier Deluxe King room on the strength of the Booking.com reviews but this so called deluxe room is nothing of the sort. Booking. Com gave the room size as 260 sq ft which is not large but in this case the room size includes the bathroom, a bathroom which isn't actually an additional room but a small glassed cabinet in the corner. This bathroom includes an all in one shower and toilet but the wash basin is outside this "bathroom" and in the sleeping area.

The toilet is no more than 3 feet away from the side of the bed only separated by a glass wall. There is a curtain which can be drawn to screen your bathroom activities from your room mate but offers little privacy. Certainly not ideal for someone who isn't VERY familiar with their room mate. The toilet seat can serve as a bench for your shampoo, etc whilst showing.

There was significant mould around the edge of the bathroom floor - unacceptable.

There is next to no natural lighting in the room, one small window opens onto the internal stairwell and the other onto a shaft between the adjoining buildings. No views.

There is a free mini bar which means a couple of bags of crisps, two cans of coke and the usual bottles of water. The fridge was empty. So much for the free mini bar.

The bed was firm which is usual in Vietnam but there was no top sheet. There is a white quilted bed cover over the bed which is used in place of a sheet. (is it cleaned between guests?)

We were in a first floor room and watching TV and sleeping was an issue due to the noise from the bar next door - we had to call reception at 10.30pm to complain but were told the loud music would end at 10.40pm which it did.

The sleeping area was clean and the air con and TV worked.

Breakfast was a fair a la carte and enough to get you going but nothing like some of the buffets similar or lower priced hotels may have.

Based on the cost of the room (US$63.00) I give it one star for there are other hotels in the area offering more at half the price.

To call it a Premier Deluxe King room is just nonsense.

We had a great time staying at this hotel. Duluxe King room on 1st floor. The staff here is absolutely amazing especially Ngoc who helped us with information and a Mekong tour with Ghinko tours. (highly recommended)

The room was spacious and the king bed very  comfortable. We especially loved the modern toilet! Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. When we came back to hotel after touring the hot streets of Saigon we were always welcomed back with a cool drink. Vietnamese breakfast usually varied each day and was one item on menu. The fruit and coffee and western style breakfast if preferred was totally sufficient.

Ask for a room on level 3 or 4 as there is a bit of street noise and music between 9pm and 10.30pm otherwise very quiet. Also a nice roof top jacuzzi with view of city. Very young hotel only opened in 2016.

Great location as central by Ben Thanh market Arrive on week end and you can enjoy the food night market in park across road from hotel. TIP download Uber app we were astounded at how cheap each ride was in busy Saigon. Airport to hotel cost us just over $5 NZ ! So.e rides $1.20 plus small bank charge on your pre loaded credit card. We always tipped drivers as a result.
