I will start with some good points. Location scores a solid 9 A great sandwich bar opposite called Journeys. rooms are clean and some have a small thin balcony. A nice touch is the fridge and a free selection of snacks and 2 cans of coca cola. A free car to the airport for a 3 night stay is a good touch too . My stay at La luna started in the reception with a friendly welcome from Tom who without any prompting told me that if any girls are brought back to the room, the police would be called. A good job it was not my plan ! I checked in and noticed a severe lack of other guests, in fact over the next 3 days there I was their only guest apart for 1 other on the last night . I went to the room and tried to use the safe for my valuables but it was so old the instructions were multifold and where would I get a letter off the pope at that time of night! I connected my computer an found the wi-fi not working. reception said this is normal and nothing can be done, so I resorted to the t/v which would not work until somebody arrived to tune it in . This went off after an hour and stayed frozen for the rest of my stay , coming back every so often for a few seconds . The breakfast was a small selection buffet with fresh eggs and was satisfactory . The main reason for the low score is that the cost of around 60£ a night was higher than comparable hotels in the same area with better facilities .…
Very happy with my stay at LaLuna Saigon. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is very good. Some reviews mention the bathroom being in the room, but as long as you are traveling solo, with a significant other, or with a close friend, I wouldn’t be concerned.
They upgraded our room to one with a balcony free of charge when we arrived and were very welcoming and friendly. They helped schedule us a tour we were looking at, provided free breakfast every morning, set up the hottub upstairs when we asked, gave us free snacks in our room, and after we checked out even held onto our luggages the entire day and allowed us to shower for free when we came back to pick up our luggages (our flight home was at night). Overall an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay with friendly and charming staff.
After a warm welcome we went to our room. Nice and clean. Standard room with AC and free snacks and drinks. Breakfast was good, fruits and juices included. The staff is also very friendly. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right in the citycenter tough very quiet in our room!! We would recommend this hotel to all our friends.
I booked the hotel for 5 nights. Staffs can speak in English, and they are so friendly, nice and helpful! :) Upon arrival, they greeted us with a glass of juice and a pack of postcars. I unfortunately broke the glass yet they still remain in a pleasant manner, cleaned it up for us. And we paid reasonable compensation afterwards. The hotel serves breakfast everyday from 7-10am, with western & viet dish. For viet dish, they only serve 1 type per day, but change everyday. I have to say the food is so good n i enjoy it very much with ca phe sua da. In room snacks are refilled everyday. The location is quite good in district 1, one road away from the bar/clubbing street, and close to some attractions. Highly recommend.
I give five stars in terms of price to value ratio. Please do not expect luxury, lush breakfast or beautiful jacuzzi at the rooftop, what you'll get is: - fast and helpful staff - fast internet - clean and QUIET rooms - quiet refrigerator and A/C - free Coca cola, water, juice in the lobby and some snacks - good location - cheap price
• Gave me a surprise birthday cake! • Awesome location! Hands down! • Super friendly staff • Clean rooms • Super accomodating - Airport transfers • Free drinks & snacks in the room • Full size tooth paste provided • ATM machine 2-minute walk away • Super good massage parlour next door
Booked and paid for a room for 4 nights this year with my wife and daughter. Emailed the hotel with some questions and concerns about my stay with a young family. Along with a few other questions. No response until nearly 2 weeks later. Cancelled our booking and are staying at a great hotel in district 1.
We, as a group of 3, stayed for 4 nights in 2 premier deluxe king rooms. Firstly, the one and only negative we had was that we felt somewhat misled by the photo on the website - the photo makes it look like the room has a window to the outside: IT DOESN'T! The room has two windows; one that looks into the stairwell, the other that looks into some strange internal shoot. This all means that the room gets very little natural daylight, however, on saying that, there are plenty of lights in the room and the light colour scheme of the room means it doesn't feel dark or closed in. Very modern room, water and snacks (crisps and coke) refilled daily, a good sized fridge and kettle included, typical hard Vietnamese bed and a decent shower wet room (although ours did occasionally have an unpleasant smell when the water struggled to drain away). Great WiFi throughout the hotel - the hotel is very small, with about 12 rooms so we found it very peaceful (accept on the Friday and Saturday night when you could occasionally hear the bass from the neighbouring bar, but it was easy to sleep through). Breakfast consists of fruit and toast that you can help yourself too, and a menu that is cooked to order (consisting of both Vietnamese and Western food; toasties, omelettes, noodles) – plenty of variety, and many great fresh juices to pick from. The hotel staff were very attentive, although quiet/ shy – reception were happy to ring and book us tickets to go see a Water Puppet Show (and didn’t charge commission), and also booked us a few taxis, we were also often offered a juice when we came in from the hot sticky outside, which we thought was a nice touch. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet courtyard which doubles up as moped parking for the university building next door and is about a 2 minute walk from plenty of restaurants and a public park that is nice to walk around and has a great food hall located within it (cheap food, lots of variety! Also has a mini supermarket). All in all, we enjoyed our stay and think we picked a good hotel for what we needed. The only reason I mark it down is that we missed having a proper window, but considering the room was only used for sleeping and relaxing in, it wasn’t a big deal!…
My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this modest hotel while on our honeymoon, October 2018. We wanted somewhere that was clean and comfortable -- a good value for the price. That sums this hotel up perfectly! Don't expect anything fancy and you'll be pleased! First off, our international flight arrived at 3 AM! I emailed with the hotel (in English) and they arranged for transportation to come get us at the airport at that hour. I can't say how grateful we were, especially as we'd never been to Vietnam before and figuring out a taxi at 3 AM would have been extremely stressful! There was a wonderfully welcoming man at reception, even at that hour! He swiftly checked us in. Since it was our honeymoon, we had booked a room with a balcony. They gave us the top floor (floor 4), which had a partial "city" view. I highly recommend asking for a room on the 4th floor. BE WARNED, there are rooms at this hotel with no windows. This apparently is common in Vietnam. Make sure to book a room with a window (if that's your thing). Our room had a balcony and even though it was hot during our stay, we sat out on it every morning while we drank our complimentary in room coffee. Lovely! The room is simply appointed, with a wardrobe, TV, coffee maker and small fridge. The king size bed was spacious and comfortable. There were shelves on either side of the bed for books, your phone, etc. Both sides had USB port plugs so you could easily charge your electronic devices. But FYI, you place the key into a slot near the door and this turns ON the electricity in the room. When you leave for the day and take your key with you, the electricity turns OFF. So nothing will charge during that time. The room also has an adjustable air con unit, which also shuts off while you're out/the key is removed from the slot. As others have noted in their reviews, the bathroom is all glass and you have to lower a shade for privacy. We didn't mind. This is a "wet" bathroom where you shower in the same area as the toilet. It's sort of an unusual set up, but once again, we didn't mind. The toilet had a fantastic "bidet" feature. Big thumbs up to that. The sink is outside the shower/toilet room. There is wifi in both the room and the lobby and it works well. There is a lift in the hotel, but we only ever used the stairs. Breakfast is served in the lobby, from 7 am (maybe earlier, even) until 10 am. It's a simple breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, toast and fruit every morning. But they also serve Nespresso type coffee drinks in the lobby at breakfast! The employees were all very friendly and happy to get us anything we needed during our stay. The hotel is located inside a courtyard; it's hard to see from the street. During the day the courtyard is used for scooter parking, but that's not a problem. There is a spa in the same courtyard, but was closed the one time we went to check it out. There are a couple of late-night cafes on the street, but we never heard the noise. There's a hot tub on the roof, but we never used it. LaLuna Saigon is located walking distance to EVERYTHING. And when it was too hot to walk, we just called a Grab Car. Highly recommend!…
