We stayed at this hotel before and after out Halong bay cruise. This hotel was centred right in the heart of old quarter but down an ally way so away from the hustle and bustle, and quiet at night. It was a great location to walk to the local attractions. The rooms were clean, and it was lovely to have 4 pillows , what a bonus and the beds were comfortable, probably the best we had on our stay ( they were not hard) the linen was clean , however the towels could need an upgrade. The breakfast was at another hotel but we were escorted to breakfast and it was quite a variety and also a choice to have something cooked. The staff were amazing , very friendly and accommodating, we were waiting for a tour company to pick us up and they were running late , they immediately offered to call them for us and we were told they would be here in 5 mins. They also gave us a little gift at the end of our stay which was a very nice touch. Be prepared it’s NOT a 5 star hotel but I don’t care about that as long as I have clean facilities to come back to when I’ve been out exploring all day , we also were able to get a late check out for a small fee as out plane didn’t fly out till 8 pm that night .

We checked in for one night and decided to stay for 5. Michael, the owner, was immediately welcoming and helped us book trips around the best sites in North Vietnam and gave us brilliant recommendations for food spots in the Old Quarter. The hotel could not be located more ideally. The huon kiem lake is a 4 minute walk away and the alley in which the hotel sits is famous for its pho and other delicious foods.

Another point is that the airline lost my bag and the staff at the hotel ensured that they took delivery of it when the airline delivered it the next day. We also landed on Hanoi in the morning so arrived at the hotel more than 2 hours before check in time. Michael greeted us with iced jasmine tea and invited us to go to our rooms to rest at no extra charge.

As the hotel is 40 metres down an alley off a main street, the hotel is nice and quiet and you are guaranteed a peaceful night's rest. I have to say the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in, the AC is great and there's even cable TV in each room!!

If you are planning a visit to Hanoi, must stay here. We paid £14-£15 per night (2 of us), and a bunk bed in a hostel would be £5 so it's AMAZING value.

Lovely clean rooms, and located within walking distance to all the attractions in Hanoi.
The owner, Phi, is the friendliest and most helpful guy you will meet! He helped us organise airport transfer last minute, booked transport for us to and from Tam Coc, exchange New Zealand dollars for Vietnamese dong (at a great rate too!), and gave us heaps of tips on what to see, eat and do.
The rate included free buffet breakfast (at a nearby hostel) which was delicious and included pho, eggs, breads and pastries, and fresh fruit plus more!

The hotel is situated in a side street which makes it ideal for escaping the noise.

We asked for a quiet room and got one on the highest floor. Rooms are spacious and clean. We found our room however to be a little bit moisty. This dissapeared by turning on the A/C.

Ideal stay for being sleeping in the old quarter but without the noise.

There are countless of reasons that I would advise people to not stay here. 1) our room was a different room than we expected. We booked a room that included a queen bed and instead included two double beds. 2) The room we then got moved into had no window and therefore was pitch black, making us miss out on the included breakfast. 3) We got moved into another room (now room number 3) that finally was what we requested which was completely clean and ready to go… very unsure and frustrated as to why we didn’t get moved into here in the first place. 4) Our bathroom began to leak water from the roof in the middle of the day, followed by our sink in the evening, along with our shower drain beginning to flood with what smelled like sewer water and therefore our whole room was smelling like the sewer. 5) Upon asking for what to do, they offered for us to walk to their partnered hotel for a similar room in the pouring monsoon rain with no discount or taxi service, or instead, leave that evening with a very small discount of 10% for which a room we paid a lot of money for.

After speaking with the manager, they gave no remorse and clearly just wanted our money. This was our last night on our trip and it’s very unfortunate that it had to end this way. I hope this hostel can continue to improve on its problems. For now, I would highly advise to look elsewhere.

Five stars across the board. Philip and Tom were amazing host who embodied the spirit of “going above and beyond” they met all our needs and tailored each one of them to our individual requests. They also set us up with tours, transportation, which is common, what isn’t is they hooked us up with great discounts, helped us get our luggage which arrived a few days late and drove us to our departure after we missed our bus at no extra cost. Couldn’t ask for better service and friendship.

Once everything was all said and done, Philip even messaged us a few days after our stay to make sure we were all good and well taken care of.

FIVE STARS, give them both a raise.m immediately.

As far as the skyline hotel, it was cute, clean, comfortable, and extremely affordable. It’s also located in the heart of the old quarter, walking distance to everything your heart desires.

Do not stay here. After switching rooms 3 times because we did not receive the room we payed for online, having our ceiling leak of water and having our full room smell of sewage we were met with disregard and told we would have no refund or we’d have to switch to their sister hostel a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast is included but you have to walk out of the hostel to the sister hostel 5 minutes every morning to get there. Manager is horrible. There are much better places in Hanoi for half the price. We were very disappointed having paid a lot of money (budget travelers) for something like this and given a horrible experience. I booked through hostelworld but they cancelled our booking so I can’t leave a review there. Go somewhere else.

Terrible experience. Hotel is old and feels dirty, with the reception area feeling very crammed and improvised. After our first night we found bed bugs on our sheets, and had to leave early that morning to Ha Long Bay and deal with washing and drying our clothes and bags when we got back.
Owner offered a different room where the bedsheets had dark stains on them, suggesting bed bugs were present there as well.
We chose not to risk another night there and checked into a different hotel.
The owner refused to offer a refund and was very unreasonable seeing the terrible experience we've had and the inconvenience we had to go through to sanitize our fabrics.

Excellent budget hotel in the heart of the Old quarter. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.
The hotel is down a side street and is reasonably quiet given the location. there are lots of bars and restaurants close by and the main attractions are within walking distance.
Candy on reception was a star and arranged our airport transfers and trips, she was always on hand to help when needed.
Breakfast is in a neighbouring property and was fresh and plentiful.
