Located in the heart of the Old Quarter of Hanoi, La Siesta Premium Hang Be is an absolutely charming and elegant boutique hotel experience with a staff that delivers 5-star hospitality. I stayed in a junior suite that afforded me ample space, a balcony overlooking Hang Be Street, and all the amenities a well-seasoned global traveler expects such as laptop safe, fast WiFi, wall electric sockets compatible with international plugs (no need to bring your adapters!), satellite TV, daily bottled waters, bathrobe and slippers, mini-bar, and a comfortable king bed. The air-conditioning, both in-room and within the hotel’s common spaces, worked perfectly. There is also a handy basket at the foot of the bed with lots of good information on Hanoi, hotel services, post cards, and more. The hotel’s restaurant, Cloud Nine, served a daily excellent Vietnamese and western breakfast in a space surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that offer great aerial views of Hanoi. Just above Cloud Nine is the rooftop Lighthouse SkyBar where friendly staff serve up a bevy of delectable libations and the panoramic views of the city can’t be beat. Finally, the real gem of La Siesta Premium Hang Be is the staff who demonstrate a passion for superior hospitality. Every staff member I encountered offered a friendly smile and a genuine interest to help and ensure we were satisfied with our guest experience. In particular, I would like to recognize Mr. Thom (Quan) at La Siesta Premium Hang Be who every morning made sure we had a delicious breakfast and that we were ready to start our day. On our last day, he took the extra step to provide us with a local tea which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our thanks to Mr. Thom (Quan) for providing us with outstanding hospitality and to the entire hotel team who made our stay memorable and provided a very positive impression of our first visit to Vietnam.

As I stepped into the hotel lobby, I asked myself, “Did I walk into the wrong hotel?” While this boutique hotel is by no means big in size, it is grand in many ways. First, the décor is pleasant with its classic yet classy look with the high ceiling and tastefully arranged furniture. They have effectively used the narrow space (as with just about all the buildings in the Old Quarter district) and designed the front desk station in a most welcoming way by not creating a barrier between the guest and the staff. Having been a hotel sales manager myself, I learned that while the facilities of a property can be an influential factor, the most crucial element that makes the stay memorable is often the people. After I identified myself to the front desk team who confirmed my reservation, I expected the room key and was prepared to head straight to my room. However, the concierge Scarlett, who speaks immaculate English, politely introduced herself and asked about my interest in exploring Hanoi. After hearing that it’s my first time to the city, she patiently described a few attractions close by, along with a few activities including where to eat and shop. I asked her where she learned her English, and to my surprise, she simply taught herself by watching movies! Now that’s motivation and determination. Believe me, I’ve been in the hospitality industry long enough to tell which staff is speaking to me genuinely and who is doing it as a job. Scarlett is as real as they get. Her sincerity is unsurpassed by any front-line staff – or any hotel staff – I have ever met in the industry. She cares, and it shows. Within a day, she remembers my name and my interests. She’ll remember what she recommended and ask the next day how her suggestions turned out. I have observed her interactions with other guests, and it’s consistent. She is professional and never tries to overdo it. The next morning at breakfast, I met Joey. Also fluent in English, Joey started by helping me with my meal. While it’s a buffet, she made some recommendations. I did not hesitate to order my favorite – a hot Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. It was the best I’ve ever had in all of Vietnam. The juices there, by the way, are all freshly squeezed and bottled. Following my breakfast, Joey, too, made some recommendations on my activities. She was thoughtful and made suggestions based on my preference which shows that she was listening. Her pleasant smile gave my morning a perfect start. Following a day of hectic tourist attractions, I was exhausted upon return to the hotel. I was ready to jump into the shower to relieve my fatigue, but Doan was the third member that made my day. Seeing that I was still catching my breath from the extreme heat outside (it was 37C but “feels like 47C” according to Google Weather), Doan calmly advised me to sit down and within a minute she managed to serve up a refreshing drink along with a very satisfying Vietnamese dessert that was clearly fresh and not one of those made from powder with artificial flavour. This is after she brought me an icy cold face towel to wipe my face. I just melted into the chair with all that pampering and felt so relaxed that I actually just wanted to stay there and not go up to my room! So Scarlett, Joey, and Doan, thank you for making my introduction to La Siesta Premium – and Hanoi – such a pleasant and unforgettable experience. It will not be hard for me to decide where to stay on my next visit to Hanoi. That is, if I can find a room with all these 5-star reviews. Xin cam on!

Easily the greatest hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The staff is what made it so special, going above and beyond to make sure me and my friend were comfortable. From personally walking us to the pharmacy, providing us with ginger tea and other herbs for our boat trip to halong bay, and giving us great personal recommendations for restaurants and shopping around the area. Would jump at the chance to stay here again!

Experience here was nothing short of Amazing! Hotel staff were genuinely warm and hospitable. Special mention goes to Eric, Linh Dao and Yen Do who were well spoken and very attentive to our needs that made our 3 day stay here all the more pleasurable. Thoroughly enjoyed our free room upgrade, with a great view of old Hanoi from the open balcony. Dining experience at the restaurant was also delightful with a great ambience and wonderful view of the city. Highly Recommended!
