Breakfast- Was very good with home made fruit juice. Cooked eggs, noodles, vegetables, fried rice, fresh fruit very professional the lay out of the breakfast.

Our stay at Hanoi Royal Palace Hotel 2 was awesome! It is very central in Old Quarter and everything is within walking distance. Tommy and his coworkers were more than helpful when we accidentally locked our keys in our suitcase. He speaks fluent English and he is very friendly and kind. We had free breakfast included with our stay and day tours are available every day. He is very knowledgeable and assisted us with navigating around Hanoi with ease. He even recommended his favourite pho spot which was full of locals (and the pho was unreal!).

Stayed here for five nights. The hotel is very well located and walkable and the room is very clean and comfortable. I stayed in a balcony room which had a nice view of the city. The hotel also arranged an airport pickup which was very efficient. So it’s definitely not a bad option, if nothing else is available.

That said, my experience of the service was not always in line with what I might have expected. During my stay, I encountered a staff member who was convinced I had left some negative feedback about the room through one of the booking services while staying at the property, which led to quite an awkward and uncomfortable conversation. I had not left such feedback, and told them it must be someone else. They then insisted that I had, even when it became very obvious it was probably another customer. While the individual did approach me to follow up and apologize 20 minutes later when they realized their mistake, it was a very unfortunate and uncomfortable experience they I hadn’t encountered on any other hotel stay, and I’m not sure it is how you would treat a customer even if they had left such feedback.

Given the price range for this property, I probably would have also expected a slightly higher standard of customer care. This includes little things like giving advice on favourite street kitchens / great local restaurants , or maybe a map of the area (when I asked for advice, I was brushed off). The focus of advice appeared to be largely on selling tours. It also includes following up when a concern is raised about something service related.

This was the first of several stay in Hanoi during the trip, while I often like going back to the same place when going back to a city later in the holiday, I ultimately decided to try other options in the general area based on the unpleasant experience I had at the hotel. I found much better service along with the same quality of room.

All that said, it is a nice clean property and the room was nice and comfortable, but I did encounter a number of service issues which one wouldn’t expect from the price range. The team at the property is new, so hopefully take this feedback and improve. I did have a chance to talk to the manager, max, when I checked out and he did listen and apologize for the experience, so maybe six months from now the experience will be different.

My partner and I chose this hotel primarily for a place to stay in the Old Quarter, nothing for the glitz and glam of it. However, we were disappointed by how the photos online were deceiving about the rooms. The headboard on our bed had missing buttons, so left open spikes which was uncomfortable and dangerous. Not to mention the horrendous smell that was in our room when we arrived and throughout our stay (most likely coming from the water in the bathroom?). Also, the safe in the room was too challenging to operate so we ended up having to carry our personal items with us during the day. However, we were able to check our passports in with reception when we went on day tours.

There was no privacy hanger to put on your door so you had no choice but to have your bedroom made up every day. This meant that we had to pack all our belongings away every morning before going out.

Additionally, it is not worth adding breakfast to your stay. It is extremely minimal and we found the only thing we could eat was an omelette (nothing from the very minimal buffet they have on offer).

However, the staff were friendly, although it was challenging to communicate with them in English a lot of the time.

If you are looking for a room to sleep in, and a shower to wash yourself, for an affordable price, in walking distance to a lot of amazing attractions and restaurants, then this might be the right fit for you. Otherwise, if you would like a slightly nicer room without the smell, and a nice breakfast, it might be worth spending more.

This hotel is running very well with professional management, Especially Max, the manager prepared all the things we need for our stay. In this period, Everyone concerns about corona virus, but I feel safely there because hotel provided items protection for all the customers!

It says the hotel in new, just over a month ago. We can only presume it was recently refurbished.
Not sure it is a 4 star hotel in my experience.
The room was nice and clean, but a bit cramped. It was a bit noisy, due to the toad traffic, but nothing the hotel could do about that.
The included breakfast was more than adequate, with more than enough choice.
All staff we good, we found the female receptionist to be very helpful and knowledgeable. However, one of the other male member of staff, was helpful, but was interested in selling us, tours, transport and additional nights at inflated prices, so beware.
For the price of £27 per night B & B for 2, it was good value and I would probably stay there again.

Very well situated in the Old Town, easy walking to see the sights and shops. Staff are very friendly and helpful, lots of tips for where to get good traditional meals. The room was cleaned every day and considering the traffic and noise on the streets, our room was very quiet.
Breakfast buffet available from 7 to 10 A.M.

I just checkin and the process was smooth and they gave me a free upgrade to one of their newly renovated rooms with balcony ( with grass )
The balcony looks good with a good view outside , the size of the balcony also is big , 4 people can sit and have a drink.

The manager , max is very helpful and address the issues on time .

I would recommend their hotel for travelers .

Max was a good friend to us, he helped us through the whole trip! We were worried about the way back to the airport and he booked a taxi for us with a very decent price! The hotel room was big and lovely. The staffs are all friendly and welcoming. They serve breakfast everyday with free buffet style and you can also get a menu meal as well! We enjoy your stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend to others!

Is Hanoi Royal Palace Hotel 2 conveniently located near famous attractions of Hanoi?
Answer from MeganLouise24
Gold Coast, Australia340 contributions95 helpful votes
Yes if you don’t mind a 15 minute walk. You can get to the hop on hop off / city tour bus and the lake. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping around. We walked to train street but it’s 20-25 minutes. It’s hard to get a Grab to pick you up at this hotel as it’s on a busy corner with no parking. You best to walk down the street a bit and then book one.
