I found the area of Hanoi where the hotel is very safe. The only problem is the number of scooters on the street. You really have to be careful when you cross the street. The Hotel will make the arrangement for Ha Long Bay for as many days as you would like. They will also arrange the trip back to the airport for $18 US dollars. There are also plenty of travel agencies near by. I choose the Hotel instead to avoid a possible miscommunication with the travel agency. I found English not to be a major problem any where in Hanoi. Make sure to visit the prison where John McCain was held. That will convince you and everyone that he is a real hero.
