Hanoi Pearl is at an excellent location, along a side road, so it is not too noisy. But it is within a couple of minutes walk from the shops, cafes, restaurants around Old Quarters, as well as the lake. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Jimmy Nguyen at the front desk , and they speak good English.
Because it is a relatively big hotel, buffet breakfast is good and has variety. The rooms and overall hotel is quite dated n perhaps need an overhaul of its tiles and furniture to get them modern. I would recommend this hotel to all travellers.

We stayed here for six nights, punctuated by an overnight trip to Halong Bay.
Hard to think of a negative thing to say about our experience at this hotel.
Pros: Location Location Location! Walking distance to everything within the Old Quarter. Nicely appointed rooms (Deluxe City View), excellent staff who were very helpful and friendly with an attention to detail, happy hour cocktails at the rooftop bar! Buffet breakfast was good with just enough items changed each day to keep it interesting. Did I mention the happy hour cocktails?
Negatives: If I had to name one it would be that the breakfast dining room is too small. When large tour groups stay it is very difficult to get a table. Also they stop refreshing the dishes in the last half hour of breakfast, so if you happen to come later you do not get to experience the full buffet.
We would definitely stay here again when we come back to Hanoi.

This is a very nice hotel to visit the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Clean, friendly, attentive, and flexible with enough room options to suit most travelers. We choose the executive room for one stay and the two room suite for two other stays = 6 total nights. Of course the suite was more comfortable but the executive room was also spacious and perfectly acceptable.
The old quarter in Hanoi is an exciting experience no matter how old or how young. Visiting over the Christmas holidays was an amazing treat to boost. Street food, soft ice cream cones, more massage spas than you can shake a chopstick at, but the most exciting aspect was the plentitude of street food that provides the best culinary experience of a lifetime on broken down corners of every street.

We had the room with a window that was inside the shower and looked out onto an outside corridor, so it couldn't be left open. The room was dated, with a large comfortable bed, but the bathroom smelled musty. The breakfast was very good, with different types of fruit, hot dishes, croissants, etc. There was also the chef who prepared the omelette on request. The staff were friendly and helpful and greeted us with a fresh welcome brew. The location is central and very convenient, but after two nights we preferred to change hotels due to the musty smell.

We returned to this hotel after 5 years because the location is excellent. It is in a quiet street beside the lake. There are some cafes and restaurants in the street, so it's very convenient.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel needs an update as its a bit tired. They could also do with having less or smaller furniture as it clutters up the room.
We had a room with a lovely big window looking out to a tree and the street. We didn't notice any street noise.
Breakfast wasn't great for vegetarians with very few options. Even half the salads had meat in them. However it is one of the few hotels in this price range to offer a decent coffee at breakfast.
Accessibility: 2 steps up to reception.

Perfect location a couple blocks from Ho hoan kiem lake, the old quarter, and weekend night market. Many restaurants nearby. Location is on a smaller side street so it is quieter which was appreciated but plenty of tourists. Dominic and Kevin were great in making sure we able to reserve a car to the airport very early in the morning and to arrange tours. Breakfast staff and chef were friendly and made nice soups and omelots to order. Rooftop bar with view over the lake for the tet ny eve fireworks. Wonderful stay and definitely recommend

Staff all excellent, always willing to help with a smile. Rooms good, bed comfortable. Great location near the lake, area turns into a walking street on weekends so cars not allowed. Bellboys came to meet driver at nearby intersection and took bags on arrival and departure. Breakfast buffet not as extensive as some but still plenty to start the day.

The rooms are wonderful. The staff incredibly helpful. All in all a perfect stay in Hanoi. Also they have a great happy hour on their rooftop bar. The bartender makes really good Mai Tais and they even made us fresh ginger tea. I can't recommend this place more. The rooms are very quiet and we'll air-conditioned.

On our first stay at The Pearl we requested some black tea in our room which was promptly sorted by the hotels efficient and ever so friendly staff. On our subsequent next two visits we found that extra tea had been provided in our rooms without request , now that’s outstanding service by any standard. There is nothing to fault with this hotel, the rooms are lovely, the beds are extremely comfortable, the breakfast fabulous, the roof top bar a quiet retreat from the street side bedlam below and the level of efficiency and hospitality from the staff is on the next level. I would stay again and will definitely recommend to others.
