If you are interested in seeing Hanio on foot, this hotel is ideal because it is located in the center of the old quarter. The rooms are comfortable but the decoration looks old and the food will not impress you. The restaurant looks a bit dirty and the staff is friendly but it doesn't go the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. The price is good.
For a first time traveller to Vietnam old quarter in Hanoi and district 1 in Ho Chi Minh are good locations to stay at and I must say Le Carnot is so strategically placed in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. The rooms were spacious and clean with modern amenities, brekafast wasn’t the best but the brekkie bags kept for us on the day of an early departing flight was totally a sweet gesture. The front office staff really helped us with booking tours and giving the right guidelines.
Absolutely in love with this hotel! Given the price you pay and all other amazing services you get, Hotel Le Carnot is truly a great option. The location is very convenient, very close to the Old Quarters and several other famous attractions. You can literally just walk out of the hotel and see the hustle bustle of the city, but not too crazy or overwhelming, which I appreciate. It is also very cheap to use taxi/grab to anywhere else. There are also lots of excellent dining choices within walking distance, but the buffet at the hotel was definitely beyond my expectation. Totally satisfied with room service and the staff as well! They speak fluent English and were always so sweet. Definitely recommend if you want to have an authentic and pleasant experience in Vietnam!
Hotel Le Carnot is a unique business hotel, located only a few steps from the center of Hanoi's Old Quarter. The hotel offers accommodation in 52 double rooms, two standard apartments, one luxury apartment, one VIP suite and one VIP penthouse. All of them are furnished in an elegant style and have a unique and luxurious interior with a modern interpretation of classic elements. The rooms are equipped with a richly stocked mini-bar, personal safe, automatic PBX, free Wi-Fi internet access, high-speed WLAN internet access. Asian cuisines are sort of our cup of tea. We planned to take up breakfast around Hanoi's Old Quarter but the Grand View Bistro in-house restaurants went beyond our expectations by providing a full-suit of local foods and fruits. Every guest is well taken care and what made us most comfy was the reasonable price list for all the good foods freshly prepared in early morning by their head chef, whom we found very interest to get to know as he's got more than 20 years working experience in luxurious Legend Sofitel Metropole hotel. Will definitely stay here again.…
Very nice and clean hotel . Staff was really helpful and also spoke very good English. Room was quite and very clean. The position of the hotel is perfect as is 5 minutes walking distance from the old quarter. Buffet Breakfast was good but nothing to special
My wife and I recently stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It’s nicely located and you can walk to a lot of nearby places that are points of interest for sightseeing etc. The hotel is standard in its look and decoration. It’s kept clean and tidy and so are the rooms. The rooms are basic, maybe even a little dated. The bed we had was very hard and not comfortable for me. It also advertises as a non smoking hotel but a smell of cigarettes was present in places. The breakfast buffet was below average in its quality and range as well as not being very tasty. This extended to the food at dinner if you happen to want to eat there. The night we arrived we decided to grab a bite there and it wasn’t a good experience. About 80% of what we asked for wasn’t available and when we did order what was available it came out staggered and with long gaps. It’s a better option to head out and eat somewhere else even if it’s handy just to eat there. The staff where very pleasant and I can’t fault them for their help when called upon. They helped organise a taxi to the airport really early when we were checking out and supplied a breakfast that was much appreciated.…
We have just spent a couple of nights here. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly. The room was very comfortable. The shower was a little underpowered given the size of the shower head so the water just came out of one quarter of it. Having said that, the water was hot and there was plenty of it. Breakfasts were great as was the room service we had for one meal.
We stayed at this hotel one night when we were transiting through Hanoi. It is well located and a pleasant place. Our room was lovely and nicely furnished. It was spacious and had a safe and mini-bar. The staff were very helpful. The breakfasts had a great variety and were excellent. I can't comment on the price because we were part of a group. I would stay there again.
After nearly 3yrs in Ha Noi I've come to realize that you can't trust the photos nor can you assume the more you pay the better the service or quality. Such is the case with this hotel. Now, the staff are lovely and quite attentive. So no complaints about service. Unfortunately the smell of mildew is so common in this subtropical country that to complain of it renders you foolish...it's not an issue for the hosts/staff so why is it an issue for you? Still, I don't think a room a $50 room in Ha Noi should smell of mildew - we checked other rooms in hopes of finding the an odor free room. No such luck. I suppose for the uninitiated this place is spectacular given its grand curb appeal and location. For those wanting to explore the Old Quarter it is certainly prime.....but it's by no means luxury. We often stay at $15-20 accommodations that offer more space and less mildew. Skip the breakfast buffet and find a street vendor Bahn my trung and coffee.Wifi was so slow I had to hot spot from my phone. Rooms my be smoke free but no one really follows such silly rules and of course the hallways have ashtrays at all elevator entrances(this is typical of the country). Again I want to highlight the service of the staff as they do the best with what they have.…
I should start this review by saying I have lived in Vietnam for almost 3 years and have become accustomed I used Hotel Le Carnot for an overnight stay for a business trip. The location is easy to find. The staff are professional and friendly and my check in was flawless. The rooms are as they appear in the pictures on a MUCH smaller scale. They are clean, arranged nicely, and our floor request of a quiet room was very much accommodated. The internet is incredibly slow. We got faster service hot spotting from our phones. The hotel is centrally located among several great areas to eat. If you exit the hotel and turn left, you will find a few restaurants that are definitely over priced (even for this area). If you exit the hotel and cross the street (walking towards Old Quarter) you will find many local stalls and a higher concentration of varied foods at MUCH lower prices. Speaking of! The breakfast buffet was nicely laid out. Good choices and lots of variety to include salads, fruits, traditional Vietnamese pho, omelettes, and a variety of breakfast meats and breads. Overall, this was a nice experience.…
