I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Its style is the style of a communist building and most of the visitors are from Vietnam or other Asian countries. Nevertheless there is also a choice of Western food at the breakfast buffet. The rooms are clean with air conditioning and a fridge. The view from the upper floors over the West Lake is great. Although the hotel is not in the city center taxis are always available. The hotel is located ideally for people who are visiting friends and family at the "Sedona Suites Resort" which is just around the corner...

Moved to Quang Ba Trade Hotel after a bad stay elsewhere. The location is a bit out of the way, but it isn't inconvenient, only a 3 dollar cab ride to the old quarter. View of West Lake is nice. The rooms are clean and nice, though the beds are a bit stiff. Breakfast isn't great either, little more than ramen noodles it seems with a few other fresh ingredients added. Staff is really nice and helpful. Behind of hotel is an excellent Italian restaurant called Il Faro. I stayed for more than a week and had an excellent experience.

To be blunt I would just recommend to people not to stay at this hotel

It has good views and large rooms but that's about it.

The main problem is that they have absolutely no idea how to run a hotel.

Firstly, the front reception asked for our passports but then said they would keep them until we checked out. Given this was our last night of a more than 2 week stay and the 6th hotel we stayed at, we knew that this "requirement" was nonsense. They trained given for wanting the passports became more and more ludicrous. In a nutshell we quite rightly refused to hand them over.

The front desk person made it clear that guests were highly likely to be bad people, run away without paying and stealing/damaging everything in the room.

The rooms were poorly laid out with no care at all. A PowerPoint in the wall that was covered by furniture was accessed by then cutting a hole directly on the furniture!

The buffet breakfast was arguably the biggest joke. It looked like a couple of 6 year old saw a picture of a buffet once and tried to replicate it. The selection was extremely poor. The bread selection was a few slices of plain white bread, an unopened jar of jam and no butter. Other than that there was one choice of a cut up sausage and a couple of slices of plain cheese. Totally miserable presentation and to be honest they should be adhered to even pretend that was acceptable.

For whatever reason this hotel is sub standard so exercise your choice and go to many other places , just not this one.

I stayed in Room 414 4 th floor , the room is quite big than normal and the staff are generous especially Miss Phuong , with a warm smile and a welcome drink offered by her when i checked in the Hotel.
Tips :-
1. Language problem is the biggest they dont understand english at all
2. Change ur dollars to VND in Airport only as outside no one takes USD
as when i reached to the hotel it was 7 pm and there was no store to change currency to VND , so its better to change in the airport only
3. take Abc Taxi cab which is trust worthy and speak little bit of english
4. if u wanna swim u need to pay 80000/- VND for one hour
5. back side of the hotel there is a lotus pond which is actually good
6. there is a park near the lake where you can find some local street foods

The room we got after booking over Agoda was very good! We had an amazing view over Hanoi. We booked this hotel because we wanted a day of relaxation before continuing our trip to Cambodia, and this hotel had a swimming pool. Turns out you have to pay 35.000 VND extra per person to use this ancient swimming pool. Bit strange..

For breakfast we received 2 coupons that we had to turn in. When coming into the breakfast area around 09.30 in the morning, there were only some leftovers and they were not willing to make anything for us. So we went to the bakery called Joma, which was just around the corner.

Fantastic hotel, huge bed, huge room, balcony. Good location near the embassies. Would definitely recommend/stay there next time I'm in Hanoi! Not the cheapest place in Hanoi, but still a very good bargain for what you get. Very friendly front desk.
