I booked the hotel about 2 months ago because of great review on Trip Advisor. I emailed the hotel and arranged for airport transfer. They always responded to my emails promptly.
We arrived 2 nights ago here. Wow! All staff were very polite and treated you very kindly. The room is very clean and it has really nice and big bathroom as well. The next day before we checked out, we had delicious breakfast. Totally surpassed my expectation of this hotel.
Location is very central with a lot of shops around. We wished we stayed here longer. We will definitely come back here.
Great place to stay in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Rooms clean, comfortable and the breakfast tasty (be sure to order the noodles). Just outside the front door many options to eat and many coffee shops. Short walk to many sites. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again!
Thank you Nam, Phuong, Ms Yen, Trang and Deip and all the rest of the Staff for your welcome and care during my Hanoi stay. I stopped at both THE AQUARIUS GRAND and the sister Hotel, THE HANOI GENIAL. Both Hotels are very Professionally run and both have comfortable beds and both are in great locations. The breakfasts at The Aquarius Grand were great and I even received a lesson on how to roll Spring Rolls correctly and how to prepare Sweet and Sour Pork!! There are plenty of great places close by for lunch (if you need it) and dinner. Try the great Kebabs only about 100 m away (turn left as you leave the Aquarius then first left again.....30000 dong well spent).
we have been in Hanoi before going to Da Nang for our one month trip in Viet Nam .

Dear Gyung Bae, First of all, thank you for taking your time to leave your feedback on Tripadvisor. Secondly, thanks for being happy with our super friendly staff. We were happy since you did enjoy your stay with us until you left for Da Nang and Hoi An. Thirdly, we are very sad since you are not an honest traveller. We have to say that because of your plan to get something back from your insurance company where did you buy travel insurance. We would like to explain the case here to help our potential guests and others who are planning to travel to Hanoi, Vietnam knowing clearly and won't be confused/disappointed because of your one side incorrect information. The story is " You were booking with us for 4 nights from Oct 11 to Oct 15. You were on a day trip on Oct 12. You have been in Hanoi until Oct 15 left for Da Nang. Then you came back Hanoi on Oct 22 and reported that you lost $600 in our hotel on Oct 12 when you were on the trip (why shouldn't you inform us as soon as you lost on Oct 12, or even 3 days after? Because you even did not know where you spent money or lost it). We've checked our CCTV carefully and answered you that "we'd invite police to help for this case" because your money was lost in somewhere else, NOT STOLEN in here. The police had worked with the Chef Officer of Korean Embassy in Hanoi. But you even knew how to get "Incident statement form" - for people who lost belongings when walking around in Hanoi Old Quarter Streets belong from Police Station in Hang Trong Ward before that ( to get pay back from insurance company) while our hotel is located in Ly Thai To Ward - a different ward. FINALLY, POLICE ANSWERED THE CHEF OFFICER OF KOREAN EMBASSY THAT YOUR ABOVE AMOUNT OF MONEY WAS NOT STOLEN IN HERE. AND UNTIL NOW, YOU OWE US AN APOLOGIZE BECAUSE OF MAKING FALSE AND DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS - IT BADLY AFFECTS TO OUR HOTEL'S REPUTATION. We look forward to your contact soon!
Location - this was great, close walking distance to the lake and plenty of restaurants nearby to try. Hotel organised transfer which was reliable. Cost us about $22 USD for 3 people from airport to the hotel.
Room - was clean and the bed was really comfortable for the price range. The triple room we had was very spacious and gave complimentary bottles of water per person per day. Had all the necessities such as hair dryer and kettle to make tea. You have to hand in the key back to reception when you leave for the day but it seems to be a standard thing in Vietnam. There is free wifi.
Breakfast - was great for the price! Choice of al la carte (e.g. eggs/ french toast/ Vietnamese noodles) plus anything from the buffet.
Staff - was extremely helpful and always had a friendly face. They always offered to point out local attractions and asked us about our day with genuine interest on what we have done. Top notch service despite being a boutique hotel.
