Really enjoyed our stay here, the manager was really helpful in all aspects of our stay in hanoi. Arranged our trip to ha long bay for the same price everyone else on our trip paid so that must of been the going rate. Great location and if you stay over the weekend the night markets are on your doorstep. The...

We stayed at the Bluestar Hostel, twice during our stay in Hanoi. The location was excellent, and the room was clean. Good value for the dollar. The Manager and his family went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We booked our tour through him to Sapa, which was excellent. They hauled my heavy suitcase up to...

I stayed 1 day on 13 june 2014. Good value for the money but the hotel was so quite. Good thing if you just wanted to rest. However the bed was really hard, not suitable if you wanted a soft bed. DO NOT book tour from them!! The going rate is 75usd (which is very easy to find in most...

I originally booked a room for 2 nights, and due to the rains in the Sapa region came 2 days early. Anna made the change with no problem at all. Then when I found out my room was on the 4th floor, I paid an extra $6 per night for a room on the 2nd floor. Still good value -...

We stay for 5 nights and the boss will give you good discount. The staff are friendly and they are able to speak Malay and a bit of mandarin cos they have been working in Malaysia. They will try their best to help you. Just the toilet needs to improve.

Dont be fooled by the over friendly staff, they are out to rip you off when it comes to travel arrangements/tours. We paid 60USD each instead of the going rate ( which we discovered later) of 40-45USD for an open bus ticket and who knows how much we were over charged for Halong Bay! The hotel has several names- Blue...

Only stayed a few nights, but left with happy memories. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Cheap rooms, free internet, nice breakfast, cheap washing, vibrant neighbourhood and close to attractions. Budget travellers, you won't do much better than the Blue Star.

The hotel was decent, nothing special. Do not pay more than $18 per night. There are many comparable hotels in the area for around $10 to $15 per night. If you do decide to stay in the Bluestar Hotel, DO NOT book any tours with Mr. Hieu. He will overcharge you and pocket the difference between the actual tour cost...

This hotel is probably all very good if you pay for the most expensive rooms, but if you're a traveller on a budget and get the USD$10 room, watch out! We planned to stay here a week but left after one night, after being kept up all night by a loud, constant noise from upstairs which sounded like a washing...

“Be careful with th travel arrangements. I had an issue with Anna booking the train - well overpriced berth, and there was NO tourist train as Anna indicated. Other than that, rooms themselves onthe 2nd floor are quite good, and excellent value considering the location. 40,000 VND ($2) to the Hanoi RR station by taxi is the standard rate in Dec 2013.”
