The Sheraton Hanoi Hotel garners high marks for its cleanliness, with guests frequently commending the pristine conditions of both the grounds and rooms. Patrons are particularly impressed with the Club Lounge and the variety of dining options available. Despite the spaciousness of the rooms, some guests feel they could benefit from a refresh, as the decor is seen as outdated. The service, however, receives accolades for its attentiveness and warmth. While the location near West Lake is noted positively, the distance from the old town and the perceived value for money are areas where guests feel the hotel falls short.

We stayed here two nights. The hotel is about a 10-20 minute ride from Old quarter and french quarter but that is only about a $3 grab/cab ride. the facilities are beautiful and the staff is awesome. I have elite status with Marriott and was treated as a VIP. I was directed to go to a private check in area (17th Floor) where I was offered food and drink as they checked me in. The rooms are great size with good lighting. the only negative was the TV felt a little small for the room (i am guessing about 28 inches) but had a good selection of channels in multiple languages.

The breakfast buffet was great with a wide section of Vietnamese, Korean and american foods and very attentive service.

When we come back to Hanoi I will definately stay here again.

Stayed at this property about 10 years ago and remrmbered its location on West Lake.
Needed a 4PM checkout time after returning from Sapa and between the JW and the Sheraton due to its lakefront location chose the Sheraton.
I had read all the negative reviews and thought even if true, hey its only for a night but this property overwhelmed us with competency and attention to details.

We arrived at 9PM after a long drive back from the mountains knowing that the lounge would be open to 10 but expecting happy hour to be completed by 7ish but upon arrival the Front Desk literally refused to check us in saying happy hour still available so just register afterwards and enjoy the lounge, which we did, so first shout out to the FD staff.

As we enjoyed a few beverages the lounge staff member, Ms Ha Anh, introduced herself and took our passports to check us I'm then going over the benefits available at the property and answering any questions very competitively. Another, superior shout out due to her abilities and charm.

Room provided was on the top floor overlooking the lake which was more then adequate.

A hot shower and a good nights sleep was desired and accomplished. We got up around 9AM and headed to breakfast in the restaurant, which was an option given to having breakfast only in the lounge. Freshly made omlettes, Pho for my other half and smoked salmon was available along with strong Vietnamese coffee.

Took a walk around the well maintained grounds and just chilled looking out over the stllness of the lake without needing to hear the noisy horns of city drivers.

Don't know why the previous reviews were negative as our reactions were totally positive and we would not hesitate in returning here if we make a 4th Hanoi visit.

Location: it is located along west lake, so you get a pretty good view of the large lake in the city. However, the Hoan Kiem lake is much more vibrant. There are not much to do around the hotel, and most restaurants serve non local cuisines. There is a shuttle to some destinations in the city except the old quarter. You have to call a grab taxi to the old quarter and it takes around 15-20 mins, not far away.

Service: pretty friendly, standard Sheraton services

Rooms: As all the photos online suggested (even the official ones), the hotel is SUPER DATED. I mean it is straight up OLD. You wouldn’t imagine paying a premium price to stay in an international hotel which it doesn’t bother to undergo a renovation. Reviews the past 5+ years have already called for a revamp in this property but here we are in 2022, old still. I believe the furnitures are changed, at least no mold found. But some suites still use sub-40 inch pixelated LCD TVs. We as a group of 4 stayed in 2 different executive suites and the one I’m staying in had problematic hot water, which it stayed boiling hot for half an hour. The tap does not respond to cold/hot input and required fix from the engineer at 12am after returning from a whole day local tour. I sincerely urge the management to consider renovating all the rooms to compete with more modern, premium but less expensive local hotels (even the IC next doors is way better kept)

Breakfast: not as fancy as JW but still offers a variety of local and Korean dishes (yes, Korean specifically). Taste average, nothing wow but good enough to start your day fresh.

Another issue is that at checkin we were told to have late checkout in both rooms. But at 10am checkout day, they told us our friends have to leave their suite at noon, which they were out for sightseeing. We were ok but had to call them to come back and pack, and asked for another rest room to put their luggage in. After all the hassle, the manager come up to my room at 2pm and told us they could stay in their suite till 4pm. We could’ve saved tons of trouble if they told us earlier.

All in all, there are much better value hotels in old Hanoi, albeit smaller rooms while most are decorated in a traditional Vietnamese touch. As a Sheraton fan in Asia, I hope the hotel team can do something to make this property more attractive to tourists, justifying the premium rates.

Every time we have used the services of the Sheraton Hotel. We always get an excellent impression and exceptional experience than we have expected. Sheraton is in a good location with high cleanliness and excellent service, especially Khun Quang Nguyen, who recommended delicious breakfasts and made signature dishes for our family to taste. Very impressed. Thank you to all the staff in the lounge, especially Mr. Oanh Trinh, for their excellent service that made us feel special. Our family is pleased to stay in this hotel. Vietnam was not in our minds, but now it has become one of the most memorable trips this time. Thank you to all staff again for your exceptional services.

We stayed at the Sheraton Hanoi during a w week trip in Asia. As Platinum members we always expect, and usually receive the best when staying at Marriott properties. This was not the case with this stay.

We stayed for 2 nights before going to Ha Long Bay, we left our bags in the hotel so when we came back they would be ready in our new room. When we arrived at the hotel, tired and in need of a shower and change of clothes (at around 230pm) we were informed that our room (which they had upgraded )would not be ready until 4 or 5 pm that day and offered us a different room that we could use and then change to our room when ready. Although an acceptable alternative, we were tired and did not find this to be the best solution.

They knew we were coming, we had stayed there previously and I had checked in online with an arrival time of 2pm. I certainly expected better of this hotel.

As for the hotel itself, it has been noted on other reviews that is old and in need of some love, which is true, but the service and location more than make up for this.

Stayed for 2 nights during our Hanoi visit, which was primarily to see Halong Bay. Hotel building is a little old but rooms are very comfortable with a beautiful view of the river, slightly away from the downtown but it is easily accessible in 10 mins by taxi. Staff is well trained, friendly and courteous. We opted for the airport pick up & drop which was very seamless and worth the extra $ esp if you are traveling with young children. Special mention to Trung at front desk who is a magician and solved a lot of our issues - making the stay not only comfortable but memorable.

My friend and I stayed in Sheraton Hanoi for 3 nights. The property is very pretty and the view from our room was spectacular. There is a lake next to the hotel and the overall vibe there is pretty claming. The hotel is only few kilometres away from the main centre and connectivity is not a problem. The staff there is friendly and is very helpful. We also dined at one of there restaurants as it was women's day and at the end of our dining experience, they gave us both flowers to wish us 'happy women's day'.
The gym in the hotel is a full fledged gym and they also have a tennis court and a beautiful swimming pool. Overall we had a comfortable stay.

Great location with almost everything on our list to see within walking distance. The hotel is amazing and the room we had on the 8th floor was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower was great.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful and had everything you could wish for.
All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly with the aim of making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
We did walk to Train street which was about an hour away on foot, however, a taxi back was only about £3!
There are some good bars and restaurants near the Hotel.
Would definitely recommend this Hotel if you are in Hanoi.

When you arrive at the hotel, you are greeted with smiles and service. The front desk staff were professional and welcoming from the moment I entered the building. I was check-in and heading toward my room in no time. The furniture in the room seemed rather antique. The nightstands and desks were made out of older wood and the bathroom had a simple tub and seperate shower. Overall, the room as well as the hotel could definitely benefit from a little renovation. However what theymissed on style they made up for in service. They were readily available to answer my questions, prearranged my taxi service , and were available to make recommendations on sights to see in Hanoi. Dinner was served buffet style and had various local and western food to choose from as well. The wait staff was bery attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. I enjoyed being only a few minutes from everything. I enjoyed my stay and want to thank the staff for making my stay easy and comfortable.

Yes but it's not the best area to walk around due to tight streets/traffic. We took the free hotel shuttle to the Old Quarter area and spent an entire day there, and I'm sure there are other great places to walk/eat but our trip was quick...

Our travel group organized it for us. However they do have a free bus that leaves for the old quarter at certain times of the day. I recommend checking with the hotel directly.
