The Imperial Hotel was in a very quiet nook of the Old Quarter but close to the lake. Walking distance to all the sites. Pleasant and helpful staff, Very clean. At least as good as the hotel we stayed at the week before and half the price. Can highly recommend.
Amazing hotel hidden in the old quarter. Staff were fantastic, rooms lovely and they simply couldnt do enough for us. Enjoyable stay. Big thanks to Grace for all her help she welcomed us and guided us!
Stay for 2 nights while in Hanoi. All the staff, the manager, reception, bellman and housekeeping could not have done more. The hotel is in the Old Quarter and everything was in walking distance for us. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Excellent location, very nice hotel with super friendly and competent staff. Very service oriented and helpful staff. Also the massage service is high quality with reasonable pricing, It's very close to the lake and other interesting sites.
Hard to know how to rank order the pleasures and benefits of staying here. Top wld probably be the staff: not only are they friendly, as one expects at a hotel here, but they are extremely well-trained. Suitcase lost in transit? Trying to access during the street-closure? Been taken to a hospital and need things conveyed from your room (sigh)? The staff here are able to prevent or resolve all sorts of problems you throw at them. In addition to advising about local attractions and resources. They also seem, well, happy, and loyal to the place, which speaks to the caliber of the team and quality of the workplace. The rooms are large, well-windowed and immaculately cleaned. Location, beside the lake, is perfect for ease of navigation (“Hey, we’re lost! I know! Head to the lake and hang a brief left”). And, overlooking as it does a charming low-trafficked side street, it’s quiet enough at night to sleep with the windows open. Happily the local rooster has ended up in someone’s soup pot and his young replacement has a voice more like a kitten, so, mayhem-adjacent it may be (near the Beer street, might market, lakeside performance stage) but easy to sleep like a bady: no, better than a baby. The breakfasts are exceptional with a rooftop view overlooking the city and a small outdoor breakfast bar where it’s possible to go breakfast, work or for quiet reflection after the restaurant closes. There’s a Spa, too, which I’ve never used. Afraid to. Because if it’s up to the standards of the rest of the hotel I might just have to buy the place and never leave. You might save $5 or $10/night staying at another place, but I can guarantee you’ll recoup that value daily with the help and myriad ways this staff and facility are designed to make yr stay as great as it can be, and to remove the stress that can sometimes be associated with visiting a place far from home.…
Hard to rank order the features that make this such a great place to stay: most days it’s the superior training, competence and genuine hospitality of the staff. Service you’d expect at The Metropole. I’ve stayed here several times, with medical issues arising (sigh) each time, and really was so well-taken care of! One staffer even drove my belongings to my hospital room and offered to stay and help. You might save $5 or $10/day staying somewhere else but believe me you’ll recoup the diff daily as staff work to prevent or solve problems that may arise. Lost suitcase? Ride from airport? Street blocked for weekend closures when you’re due to arrive: they handle these seamlessly, with patience and friendliness Another value: really superior breakfasts. A big dining room with rooftop views and a terrace where u can eat and look out over the city. The rooms are large and immaculately clean. Good AC, wifi, good TV and water pressure all maintained by the 24 hour staff Much to praise about the location, as well. It’s near the lake (thus easy to navigate to if you’re a newcomer) for daily promenades and in the Old Quarter but on a small and charming street just far enough away from the noise that can sleep with the windows open So: Staff? Room? Location? Hard to rank but high levels of performance you’d expect in a much more expensive hotel! …
The hotel is excellent, and as far as customer service goes, it's like a 5-star hotel if not better. Absolutely amazing staff and great English. We booked for 3 nights and then extended for 2 more. The location is ideal with loads of cafes, restaurants and spas all around. Also good for all the sites. The hotel has been recently upgraded so everything is just nice - the reception area is charming and bright. Rooms and hotel are very clean well. The bed was really comfy, good pillows and nice bathrooms. I have recommended this hotel to everyone I know. Oh and the 4Ps Pizza is great and right around the corner.
Three stars - definitely NOT five! The 5-star reviews on this site for this hotel really make no sense to me. Yes - the people who work at the hotel are really nice, but this can be said about pretty much every VN hotel I’ve ever stayed in. And although we booked a premium room with king bed, but got 2 double beds in what was apparently a less than premium room with no balcony - and the view from the room was, frankly, a bit sad. The mattress was hard, the plumbing a bit off, the amenities sparse. This hotel was a bit worn and showing its age, and as such - it is a typical tourist hotel by Hanoi standards, but at a higher price (again, by Hanoi standards). We liked the location in the old town near the lake, and yes, did not have an issue with street noise (or roosters) as we have at other properties. The breakfast was above average - with pho or eggs made to order along with the corral of the usual suspects. I don;t mean to diss on this place, because we actually liked it! But to give it five stars is a bit silly. We found that we got what we paid for - and perhaps a little less by Hanoi standards - and that this was certainly not due to a lack of effort or professionalism form the hotel staff which was exceptional. Oh - and what of the spa mentioned in the name? That WOULD be nice!…
I stayed in imperial suite for two nights. It's huge and will recommend. There's street view only but location is amazing. Breakfast spread is sufficient. The real star is the reception service especially by Grace. All other unnamed staff are also very good and helpful. Amenities are enough. This place is great value for money. I'll stay again
I would like to give 6 stars to this hotel if i can, definitely one of the best hotel I ever stayed, special thanks to the hotel staffs, especially Tracy and Grace, which go Extra mile to assist us with all kind of arrangement from tracing bus booking to transport arrangements from sapa-Hanoi. The room was nice and spacious, exactly like the picture. They gave us free upgrade on our first night. Breakfast was good with variety of choice and they change the menu daily. Overall, the experience was excellent.
