When arriving at the Hotel, we felt so welcomed by the Team at golden sail. They directly recommented us the best places in Hanoi and were always there to answer our questions. The best thing was definitely the Breakfast- you could order pancakes, eggs and french Toast...and the buffet was very convincing. You could eat Toast, Papaya salad, beans, fruits like dragonfruit, pineapple and passionsfruit und many other things. The rooms were clean and beautiful.

Wow what a fantastic place. From the moment you walk in the door to the last time you walk out ,the team at the hotel went out of their way to make you feel so welcome. I want to particularly commend Andrew on his professionalism in the manner he carried out his duties. The room was super comfortable and clean, and having a balcony was an added bonus. The hotel is in a super location with bars, restaurants and cafes at your door step. I can’t wait to return. Congratulations team!!!!

I stayed here for four nights at the end of July, and will certainly be back for a couple more nights. It's right in the middle of the nightlife area, 10 mins walk from the central lake. The staff are very competent and friendly and it has great breakfasts It.s noisy, of course,, and the streets outside are full of vehicles, total chaos, but if you want a great stay, cheaply, in downtown Hanoi this is an excellent place to book.I shall be back!

Clean, new and modern boutique hotel in the heart of Ta Hien (Old Quarter) street in Hanoi. Location: Everything you could ask for is literally at your door step from restaurants, bars, massage parlours, travel agents, laundry services and the start of the main 'beer street' strip (Ta Hien street) under 50 metres to the right when you exit the hotel. You can have a big night out and crawl back to your room. Hotel facilities: This a a boutique hotel with no gym or swimming pool. As you enter, there is a doorman who will warmly greet you and help with luggage. There is a small reception and travel agent, followed by a lift, and a small breakfast hall at the back. The hotel itself was very clean and I think it was newly refurbished when I stayed here towards the end of 2018. The hotel even matched the best price I received from a third party agency for airport pickup and I had the hotel driver waiting for me at arrival holding a name card. This was ideal for me arriving at night as a first timer to a rather chaotic city. They allow you to store your luggage for free if you are to depart on an excursion and return to the hotel (for an additional night or more), or if you check out and have a later flight. Breakfast & staff: I did not have breakfast at the hotel however I had a peek one morning and they had a decent buffet which included Vietnamese cuisine, fruits and the usual eggs, etc. It wasn't a major spread but looked very appetising. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When I stayed at this hotel it was my first trip to Vietnam and I was shocked (in a good way) at how friendly and welcoming the staff were, and soon realised this was pretty standard throughout the city. Housekeeping was good and the room was cleaned daily, no complaints. Room: I stayed in the 'deluxe balcony room' which was on the top floor. From what I recall, including my room, I think there was only one other room on my floor. I would highly recommend to pay the little bit extra to secure the deluxe balcony room which has a large private covered terrace with chairs and a table. This faced the front of the hotel but there was no issue with noise. I booked this hotel over other hotels specifically for the balcony room which I thought was a bargain, and probably would not have stayed in the standard rooms which, to me looked decent but basic. The room was very well decorated, with new Asian furniture, flat screen TV, and a mini bar. The bed was large and very comfortable. The aircon worked very well and so did the WiFi although as I always do in Asia, I was using data from a local tourist sim most of the time. I must however add that even though the room was of decent size, with all the furniture, it felt a little bit cramped especially after I had the ironing board out which required a bit of reshuffling of furniture (coffee table and a chair). It was fine for me as I was a solo traveller and I think two people could also manage without much trouble. Bathroom: The bathroom was very clean, modern and the design was beautiful however rather compact. The shower cubicle has a rain shower and a wooden deck to stand on. There were no issues with water pressure. Negatives: Only minor negative is that the hotel entrance doors are locked likely after midnight and the night staff sleep in the lobby so you have to knock to wake them up in order to be let in. I found myself doing this on all nights however to be fair, I noticed that this is very common in Hanoi with most hotels (even 4 star hotels) which I experienced during return visits to this city. Conclusion: Hanoi is a chaotic but lovely city with wonderful people and amazing food. I have since re-visited but unfortunately the balcony deluxe rooms were booked out for my return visit hence I did not stay here again. If you are visiting Hanoi and want to be in the middle of it all, in a comfortable room with modern facilities, I highly recommend this boutique hotel which is very well priced!
