The hotel is less modern than I expected from the photos but we enjoyed it. We slept one night in a small room without a window and one night in a family room. Naturally we found it better in the second one but the price was also very different. The location is excellent, you can easily reach the center on foot without any problem or fear. Breakfast is mainly savory with some sweet options (bread and jam and banana pancakes) but there is no shortage of fresh fruit. Hotel very well located as you can walk to most places in the city. Excellent staff, very attentive and willing to help at all times, especially Emma's care, very friendly and helpful. Recommended hotel in the city center, we were in the budget room and it was very quiet, we could sleep without problem away from the noise of the city.

The Golden Rooster is In a good location in the Old Quarter, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was good and the staff were incredibly friendly. We stayed here for three nights over two occasions as we had trips to Sa Pa and then Halong Bay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. When we checked out for the final time and went to Halong Bay they even kept one of our bags so we don’t have too much luggage with us and when we came back allowed us (in fact encouraged us) to have a shower before heading to the night train.

I think the hotel is very over-rated. Whilst the location is good, it is very noisy - so much for the soundproofing. I paid extra for a room with a balcony and window. The balcony actually housed 5 airconditioning units so was next to useless.
The breakfast was mediocre and items would run out and not be replaced. The bed was OK but the pillows were quite lumpy. The TV was poor and there were no pay-per-view channels as advertised. The toiletries were poor quality.
Lastly, and whilst I didn't need it, there is no way your room if you stay there, is wheelchair accessible - there are 3 steps just to get up to the lift on the ground floor and once in the room, another step to get into the tiny bathroom which in no way would accommodate a wheelchair anyway.
For the price I paid, it was quite disappointing.

The hotel is located in the Old Quarter - central location, houses next to houses tightly, and because of the tube house architecture, people in Hanoi have to make the most out of the space. Regarding breakfast, because the hotel is always full so we have reminded the kitchen speed up and we committed to not letting a similar situation happen. Regarding wheelchair accessible, the hotel will have special services to support customers when they needed. The hotel is operated by the owner, so we always take the word "Trust" as the first, ensuring to give customers the best and most satisfied experience. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and were picked up for free from the airport as we booked directly from the hotel via the website. Anna and her entire team are just incredibly nice and helpful. Anna supported us in booking the tours and was very competent here - I can only recommend. The rooms were clean, only in the bathroom it could be better. But here maybe my standards are too high and not up to the Asian standard. Breakfast was absolutely sufficient, We had a room only with a window to the ventilation channel, so unfortunately it often smelled of food - hence only 4 points. The rooms are also very noisy, but I have not experienced a quiet room in any Vietnamese hotel (3-5) stars. The location is really central, everything is within walking distance. If we are in Hanoi again, I would stay here again. However, three nights were too much for us, the old town is very noisy and crowded.

Fantastic hotel,perfect for visiting Hanoi! Thanks to the Amazing front desk manager Emma who is extremely helpful and arranges you the perfect trips to the nearby attractions at the best prices (Sapa trekking, Ha Long Bay cruise, Ninh Binh..) always making sure that you are having an unforgettable experience. The hotel position is perfect to visit the city at walking distance from restaurants and top city attractions such the Hanoi train street (5minutes on foot). Rooms are cozy and complete with all amenities, very comfortable so with eccellent value for money. Breakfast is delicious and offers also hot dishes such banana pancakes or scrambled eggs. We highly recommend this hotel for the best Vietnam visit!

We loved our stay at the Golden Rooster! It was our home base in Hanoi and the staff welcomed us and truly treated us like family! The hotel is impeccably clean, centrally located, breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of foods, and we so appreciated the check in process and introduction to the city. My wife Linda and I stayed at the ‘Golden Rooster’ for 3 nights in early March. It is a lovely boutique hotel (I think 22 rooms) in a great location in the old quarter of Hanoi. Our room was spacious, our king size bed was comfortable, the wifi and AC both worked, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was sufficient. As an added bonus there were free snacks available in the lobby.
The staff was very caring, A special thanks to Anna & Emma, one of whom was always available to help and advise us. Thanks also to the 2 young men (I think they may have been brothers named Ken & David) who always ran to help us with our bags or manned the front desk. Good people make guests feel wanted and special. At the ‘Golden Rooster’ you will get that kind of treatment. I highly recommend it.

Location: very close to the tourist destinations in Old Quarter including Hanoi Train Street and Notre Dame Cathedral. You can walk around the city center and you’ll find many shops, restaurants, cafes. It is along the road too so it’s easy to reach and access.
Room: the room is huge with two queen beds, own private toilet & shower (maybe change the blinds to be more darker or something), a little balcony which you can go out, and other amenities. And the room is clean
Services: the room comes with free buffet breakfast (many choices and delicious), and all day complimentary snacks, coffee & tea There is an elevator so you won’t have any issues with your luggages. You can ask their help too to book for airport transfer and tour
Staff: this is one of their best assets - their very responsive (I have been messaging them prior to our trip), accommodating and helpful They’re all smiles and welcoming too.
Overall, I can highly recommend Golden Rooster Hotel to anyone coming to Hanoi.👌💯
