We only got to spend one night here but would have enjoyed spending several more. Not only is the staff extremely professional and courteous, the rooms are impeccable, there are great views and I enjoyed using the exercise room. The food is very good we had a very exceptionally nice seven course dinner with our tour group. I am glad that gate one included this as part of our time in Vietnam .
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Lotus Hotel! It was VERY nice! Clean and comfortable. We would have enjoyed staying longer, but our tour spent just one night before our boat ride on Halong Bay.
This is a good hotel near Halong Bay, Vietnam. It is a very convenient location near Halong Bay. Room size is spacious with all facilities available i.e. safety box, drinking water etc. However the lighting inside the room is a bit dark. The dinner served at the Wine & Dine restaurant on the 4/f is very poor though. The food are mainly Chinese / Vietnamese. It is part of the included dinner with the Gate 1 Tour group. The serving waitresses are desperate to take our plates away before we finished so they need to be retrained as this is not acceptable service.
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night as part of the Gate1Travel group of Vietnam. The hotel was clean and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. However, we were not able to check out the roof top bar due to rain. The hotel is located on a quiet street. During our visit, the streets were so quiet and deserted. There was a nearby night market which was very walkable to and from the hotel with tons of souvenirs to choose from. Breakfast was adequate and the servers were attentive. The room assigned to us was very large with the following items: flat screen TV, coffee/tea, complimentary bottled water, refrigerator/mini-bar, electrical plugs that accept European and US plugs, telephone, free WiFi, in-room safe, weighing scale, bath robes, hand held shower, hand gel, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel. One comment for improvement would be to have the room electrical plugs available near the bed to charge electronics.…
We booked 3 rooms for 2 nights it was awesome. The location was very good. This is not a budget option. But if you want to splurge a little, this is a good option in Halong City! We liked it and would recommend it to others.
The service was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and quiet, with a nice view. The top floor bar serves good (proper) cocktails. Good selection of Asian and European options for breakfast. Sadly the swimming pool was closed, but we used the spa, which is very comfortable and well looked-after.
Stayed at the Royal Lotus for our visit to Halong Bay and the hotel is well located rooms are comfortable. The roof top bar has great views and a good atmosphere. The public restaurant food was passable but nothing special and the breakfast and dining rooms were really hot the when we were there. As this hotel receives a lot of tourist buses note, there were a lot of guests smoking out the front of the hotel which wafts into the entrance foyer of the hotel and you have to walk through as you come and go.
We had a family vacation in Vietnam which was the first time for us all. We are thoroughly impressed by the food, natural beauty, and most importantly, the incredible people. Royal lotus hotel has a small inn-like feel, that makes guests feel at home. I would have a special shout out to Whale (Đức Anh Trần) at concierge. He helped me organize the day trip to halong bay, the car transportation to ha noi. He takes care of every detail of our stay in the hotel - including local restaurant recommendations. He makes us feel like coming home. He is the best ambassador for his lovely country. Because of him and the entire service staff at the hotel, we had a memorable experience that makes our Halong trip special. Thank you! Also to mention is that the rooftop bar is amazing in terms of view. …
Food uncooked old and cold. The worst we have ever had on years of travel. Place was empty just us and now realise why. We have had far better street food and the chef was hiding I advise all travelling to try elsewhere
We were here for a couple nights. The hotel check in was easy, credit cards accepted. Lots of outdoor free parking. The wait staff was very good/polite/efficient. The rooms were large enough, clean and comfortable. We ordered food at the restaurant, it was OK, but not something to write home to Mom about. It was not extremely expensive. There is a pool on the roof, with lots of outdoor tables/chairs, and an incredible way to watch the sun set. There is also a bar/dining area on the roof, with its own tables/chairs, some pretty decent bartenders, and rotating drink schedules. You can either bill to your room, or use cash/credit cards. There is also a marketplace just a block or two down from the hotel, bring some local currenty, and your haggling face with you...you can get some pretty good deals if the the market traffic is light. They also take credit cards.. We thought it was worth it for the view from the roof alone, but try it yourself. Mahalo…
