Sometimes pictures speak louder than words.. I have uploaded some pics where you can see how is this hotel... worst hotel i have ever been to in my whole life. They did NOT clean our room, it was so dirty, there were cockroaches in the floor... Wifi did not work at all and internet didn't reach the rooms Bathroom looked like a chamber gas from the second world war... They rented us an old motorbike which breaks were broken and we were not even capable of changing the gears.. Please, Do NOT go to this place is disgusting
This place is filthy. Not clean at all. Also, the curtains are more or less sheer, so you'll be sure to wake up with the sun whether you want to or not. Breakfast is nothing special. Front desk gave us misinformation (saying we'd be unable to extend a visa...then we went to another hostel and they took care of it immediately). We booked online and had a price quoted in dollars. When we paid they used a poor conversion rate. Avoid if you can. They're on a street with many hostels and hotels and you can negotiate a good price with many of them.
The people working at Cheers Hostel couldn't be any nicer! I originally arrived at their other hostel (happy hostel) after a very long and eventful motorbike ride from Hanoi. The welcomed me by sharing their food and drink then helped sell my bike the following day. They mentioned about opening Cheers Hostel and asked if myself, Jake, Fred & Charlie wanted to stay and help set the place up. They treated us like family, lending us their motorbikes, providing all meals and drinks free of charge, playing football with their local team...The list goes on and on! We spent nearly two weeks there with the Pete, Lisa and the others and it was one of our most memorable parts of travelling! Stay with Cheers Hostel and you'll get a real taste of Vietnamese hospitality. I can't wait to head back and see everyone again one day.…
I would like to tell all the people that may come to halong that's a very nice place to stay. Staffs speak English and they are very kind. But that hostel is quite far from the busy and tourist street. That's one of the reason we can not budget others trip to halong bay. But Anyway, I really appreciate.
Good little hotel with the basics for a ridiculous price (6USD, I believe). Welcome beer and English speaking staff. Rooftop terrace, AC and wifi. Stayed one night. Paid 80K for a motorbike taxi to get there from the harbour.
Our stay at Halong Cheers Hostel was pleasant. The room wasn't the nicest and wasn't very clean which is our only issue. There was a plug socket hanging out of the wall. We loved the creative idea of putting tyres on the balcony and netting so we could sit there, however behind the tyres it was so filthy. The beds were very comfortable. We stayed here for 3 nights and 2 of those days we didn't have hot water in just our room, we told the staff and they were very helpful and gave us the key to the opposite room so we could have a hot shower in there. The staff were so lovely and so helpful, very welcoming and always making sure we were okay.
We were surprised that a staff in this hotel spoke English so well. The guy we want to mention is Peter,he was taking the great care of us. Breakfast was fantastic, the room was very niceand clean with a beautiful view from our balcony. Highly recommend this hotel.
Very good service, fast WiFi, helpful staff. Here they know English so easy to communicate. Big rooms with balconies. Location is good close to cable car and restaurants. Laundry available. Breakfast tasty
We were staying in Halong Cheers hotel for 2 nights, Peter was our great host, he spoke great English and very enthusiastic in taking care of us. Breakfast was just fantastic with toasts, eggs, butter, jam and bananas.Cheers, Peter.
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was so pleasant. Peter and the all the young guys are so friendly and cute. We had a big breakfast with Salad, bread and omelet. You can order noodle if you want. The chef did a good job. We even tasted the staff foods, which are very basic and simple but it was delicious with fried pork, stir fried morning glory and sour oyster soup. Also, they gave us a very competitive price for bus and motorbike. Do not miss this.
