I didn’t know The whole hotel is under full construction, 7 days a week. The noise is shocking, constant drilling, machining, banging. There is rubble and debris everywhere this is outside my room. It’s really terrible! See picture attached to this.
This hotel is old but it's good for families. 2 large pools and right by the sea. The food is not great but there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from in the area. The rooms are large and spacious and the TVs have some good channels. The highlight if this resort is the fact that it is right in the beachfront. The downside is the breakfast quality and the huge numbers of Chinese tour groups that overpopulate the resort. This was what ruined it for me. Just too many, too loud, rude and inconsiderate of the other guests staying.
They charged us for glassware in the rooms that was broken before we even checked in and which we never used. Rude and disrespectful, with terrible attitude. Hotel is old and breakfast is poor. Roaches in the room
I was so looking forward to our stay here as the last time we stayed we had a wonderful time and I wanted to create something special again for my husband's birthday. Unfortunately the hotel apparently did not receive my prepaid booking, special request or subsequent request for airport pick up. I understand that sometimes these things happen but was not quite prepared for the way it was handled. The resort is still quite nice, although has dated significantly since our last stay. The beach, pool and gardens are beautiful. Some of the staff however, need a course in customer service and basic politeness. It was quite disappointing and our stay did not turn out at all as I planned. I do not like leaving less than favourable reviews but in this instance honestly feel that staff in this industry make the difference between an alright stay and a great stay and for me personally felt like some went out of their way to make our stay fall very flat. …
This hotel is ideal for young families and elderly couples. Located on a long & flat sandy beach, it is ideal for walks and relaxation. Hotel provides beach chairs for free. 3 restaurants - Main Coffee House, 2 on the beach. Coffee house opens from breakfast till dinner and do not offer 24-hour room service. 2 large kids-friendly swimming pools. Please note there's no lifeguards, so kids must be accompanied. Apart from many long stay guests, there would be guests from tour companies. So be prepared to see many new faces everyday. Breakfast can be very busy. Overall, for the price, it is worth the stay; and away from the crowded areas.
This is not a 4 star hotel under any definition. Rooms are lovely but rest of place is “grubby”. Service is slow The hotel accused me of having people stay in my room and put a formal note under my door about extra costs when I hadn’t which was totally unacceptable. Friends had visited me and left things in my room so I assume the cleaner had made assumptions. When I explained to reception they were ok but no apology.
The selected hotels were all very comfortable and located per our requests in the city centers except one hotel in Chaing Mai but that was likely due to late booking in high season. The hotel, Amora Beach Resort, was a fabulous property and once we figured out where to find Tuk-Tuks (close by but out of sight of the main doors) the location was actually fine. Glanzu travel company made some good recommendations and did a good job tailoring the package to our requests.
Very good hotel, upon arriving the staff were friendly and helpful, place always looked clean. The room was good for what you pay for, had working A/C, had a handy control set next to the bed. The TV had some English movie channels which was good as entertainment wasn't the best on site. Breakfast had unusual options like rice, pasta etc but the fruit was always fresh. Plenty of choices to eat around the hotel but we found the best place to eat was a 5 minute walk down the beach. Plenty of tour options/brochures provided in the hotel reception and only a minute walk down to the gorgeous beach. Only problem was the wifi wasn't the best.
JUST DON’T GO HERE. I’m not sure which highlight to start with... either the mosquitoes in our room when we arrived, the cockroach by the pool, or the extortionate taxi price to the airport. This place needs to be demolished. Ugly green plastic chairs on a grey concrete building. The hotel gives the feel of a north London council flat. Dirty, unhygienic, plastic shower curtain. I’m traumatised from my stay at this hotel & will be reporting it to get it re-rated. Don’t stay here - just don’t.
I am not sure if it is marketed as a 4 star hotel as many reviewers claim. The price I paid for four nights in peak seasons is certainly not for a four star hotel. Located on a great location by the beach. Had a room on the second floor overlooking the small pool. Room was clean, had all the tv channels that I needed for my stay and the bed was firm and clean. It is probably showing its age but I didn't feel it was run down. A/C worked, staff friendly and helpful even though their English is not the best. Clientele mainly Russian during my stay. Breakfast was plentiful and you didn't get evil stares if you went for a second serve. Restaurant by the beach was dreadful though. Awful food and mosquitoes everywhere. This is my second time at Amora (first time in 2008) and I do not hesitate to recommend the place if you don't have high expectations.…
