One of the originals on the strip I guess, old thai style hotel. Could have done with a touch up during covid. Superior room is a good size with a balcony, always handy for drying the washing. No kettle no hair dryer ( available in reception). First time in jomtein, reminds me of bang Sean, lots of thais get down here at the weekend. Big beach lots of places to eat/drink. Hotel suited my needs and I did book further nites mainly because of the great pool.
Booked a detached two bedroom Pool Villa here last week. Had a fab time. As people say the staff are brilliant, so helpful and try to answer every query. Check in a breeze. Driven to the Villa in a golf cart. Great stuff. We are 2 families and the Villa was the obvious choice. Immaculate inside and out. We were the only people on that side of the complex so had the pool to ourselves. Which was brilliant. Sit up pool bar and small restaurant at our pool not in operation due to obvious reasons, however that did not bother us. Very quiet in the Villa at night perfect. Breakfast is a buffet affair with a reasonable choice of everything you need. Plenty of hot drinks and juices along with the usual fare you get at these type of establishments. Jomtien is still a bustling, busy seaside resort despite the current situation. If you need more of a party atmosphere, Pattaya is a short Baht bus ride away. Great value for money. If you are a family or a couple and want a bit of seclusion or extra privacy then book this place. It’s close by everything. The Baht bus goes right past the hotel, so for 10bht you can get around easily. This was our second stay. We’ll be back again.…
We spent 19 nights here over Christmas and New Years, in a pool-side Villa. The location is fantastic - right across from the beach, with plenty of food and basic shopping options nearby. Regular baht buses along the beach road and to Pattaya also cater for those wanting to explore a bit further. The pool villa we stayed in was a bit back from the road at the front of the hotel, so even when it got a bit busy on New Years' Eve it wasn't too noisy in our room. The villa comes with a king and a single bed, which we pushed together to sleep comfortably with 2 adults and 2 kids. The adjoining bathroom has a separate free-standing bath and a shower. Bath robes and slippers are also provided, along with a small fridge and kettle for boiling hot water. The mattresses were a tad on the hard side for our liking, but still very comfortable to sleep on overall. We discovered 2 extra pillows in a cupboard a week in 😊. There is no in-room safe however dual-key safety deposit boxes are available at reception free of charge. Overall the room and facilities were in good working order, and whilst not brand new everything was in very good condition. For a week we had family come and stay in an adjoining villa with a connecting door, which was an added bonus. Staff are fantastic, and always friendly and willing to accommodate any requests we had, as well as adoring our kids. Special shout-out to Mai and the reception team, as well as to the room cleaners who took extra care to clean after we had re-arranged the beds. The only small criticism is the lack of cleaning in the outdoor area, specifically around the second pool where our villa was located. It might be due to reduced staffing levels in quiet times - for half the stay ours was the only occupied pool villa and we mostly had the back pool to ourselves - however the floor boards around the pool were never cleaned while we were there, resulting in everyone getting quite dirty feet every day after a few minutes playing around the pool. The single bin near the pool was also often left overflowing for almost a day, and some sticky substance which had leaked form someone's food rubbish next to the bin was not cleaned for several days, until we asked the room cleaners to do it as the maintenance staff were no-where to be found. Anyway, minor overall and not enough to deduct an entire star, but something that could easily be improved in our view. Aside from that we had a fantastic time, and will definitely be back next time we visit Jomtien!…
The hotel is conveniently located on Jomtien beach with plenty of restaurants and outlets around. The room was old and rundown, having partial see view, with evident signs of aging and lack of maintenance. basis furniture, uncomfortable bed, no room safe and other supplies expected from a 4 star hotel. Ketel and free water provided next day after my complaint. Hotel/room were in general clean with daily attendance Average breakfast and services.
Hotel to sell packet "Test & Go" package without a room. It seems the price is adequate, but then they also want to pay for the room. The price includes only one snack box. They want extra money for the rest of the food. Other hotels include meals throughout the time you wait for your PCR-test results. Hotel want to sell additional 7 days. They say that according to the test and go you must be in quarantine for 7 days. They do not know the laws of their country. They try to cheat guests in order to make more money. Don't choose this hotel, save your nerves.
GRAND JOMTIEN PALACE DATE OF STAY: 11, November 2021 The resort overall is very nice we stayed here for 3, nights, we had Chalet next to the swimming pool. The King Size bed and another single bed the bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size and there was an area outside with a table and chair there was also a clothes horse for drying clothes. Slippers and bath robes are supplied. There was no separate bath/shower but there is an screen you can pull along for privacy whilst using the toilet or having a shower, these chalets are all open plan there’s a small standalone bath and a shower cubicle which also had a rain shower. There is no safe deposit box in the rooms, for this you have to use the safe deposits at the reception desk. The swimming pool was beautifully designed with plenty of sun lounges and situated but not enough sun shade umbrellas. The resort was situated right on beach road and the beech was across the road opposite and it was all sand. The resort is situated close to all you would need be it shopping; restaurants, bars etc. and taxis are going past at regular intervals. The breakfast buffet was reasonable but I have seen better selection of food at other hotels but the food was tasty and dining area was nice and if you took seats to the front of the restaurant you would have full open view of the beach. The staff were very helpful the rooms very clean and refreshed daily, so overall I would recommend this hotel.…
The sheets were clean and the rooms are a good size. We had two rooms. They had many mosquitos in them and we found two cockroaches in ours - dying - as we had sprayed bug killer to get rid of the mossies. The hotel is empty of course post covid-19 but their pool was open. The swim up bar was closed but the clean seemed clean. Staff weren't too bothered about anything. Check out took forever. We did order room service and it was okay. We told the front desk about the cockroaches and showed her pictures...so she giggled. Weird.
I recently stayed at the Grand Jomtien Palace and found it to be well worth my time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was at the quieter section of the beachside road but easily in reach of other amenities. The hotel room was clean and very well maintained. The meals were delicious and well priced. Also the swimming pool was clean and very inviting. I would definitely stay there again
Hotel is rundown. Pool needs renovation. Rooms need renovation. Bath tub is old and need to go. But staff is kind and rooms are cleaned Every Day. Food at pool is good. But IT is not good they have No smoking signs and they do not treat All guest the same. One guest Can sit at the pool bar and smoke openly in front off staff Every Day but All other Guest cant even smoke on their sun bed. One Day staff even colured his hair in the pool bar. Disgusting because IFF they drop something we have to svim in IT. IT is not okey. They should have same rouls for All guests.
Great location right in the beach unfortunately the hotel let's itself down with dated decoration. Fixed showers which are very low on the wall. Renovation of rooms caused quite a bit of noise early in the morning. Good attentive staff is one of the good things of the hotel. Also attached to the hotel is the Octagon restaurant which is very good if a little expensive for the area. Would not recommend to friends.
