I have recently returned from Pattaya and on this occasion, I was lucky enough to stay at Hotel Amber Pattaya... WOW, what a hotel! Due to travel restrictions in place, a lot of cancellations were received at the hotel, which opened the door for me. Thanks to a timely email from Agoda, I managed to get a rate of £21 per night for 18 nights and I jumped at the chance to stay at this hotel. The room, although not big, was in great condition! Nice big TV, very comfortable bed, different but clean bathroom set up, with the toilet and shower being behind separate doors and the sink area just outside and behind a screen from the bed. The only slight down side was lack of hangers and storage space, with only one drawer; everything I travelled with was just piled up in near the door. Only a small gripe, this won't affect my score. The staff at reception and security were very friendly and raised smiles everyday, especially the security guard, exchanging elbow bumps on a daily basis, even hiding from me and jumping out on me one evening! The pool area was excellent, plenty of beds and towels! Due to COVID19 restrictions with the bars, we started to use the hotel bar near the end of the trip, taking advantage of the beer offers. There was one evening where the bartender was reluctant to put ice in the bucket and just put cold water in. After a few words, this was later rectified. I didn't use the food, gym or sauna facilities at the hotel, but everything looked excellent from a distance. There's also an hourly shuttle bus available for hotel guests, operating a one way journey, this I didn't use, but is an excellent addition to the hotel. The hotel is located about 150m from Soi Buakhao and is in a nice quiet location. Plenty of motorbike taxis available outside the hotel, these were utilised to get me to the TRGG golf society each morning. Everything is in striking distance; Central Festival and LK Metro a shortish walk away, Walking Street you could either use the hotel shuttle or Baht Bus from Soi Buakhao. I'd highly recommend a stay at Hotel Amber Pattaya and look forward to returning again in the future!

After reading hotel reviews on central Pattaya I booked this hotel initially for three days and thought I’d look around when I got here. Wow what a surprise this little gem was. From the moment I arrived I felt just so relaxed and comfortable, from the friendly welcome to easy check in this was awesome. The rooms are super clean, spacious, well designed and laid out, large lcd tv, in room safe, great shower and toilet, nice balcony (I had the pool view) ashtrays on the balcony if you’re a smoker. The dual infinity pool is amazing! In the Mind Bistro the food drinks and snacks are not only very tasty but also super affordable with great staff always willing to help, the authentic Thai food is beautiful and fresh. I’ve travelled to Thailand 16 times and stayed in many hotels but this one is without doubt the best I’ve found. Situated in central Pattaya just a few steps off Soi Buakhao and only minutes walk to all the popular attractions. When I come back to Pattaya this will be my go to place from now on!!! Please be assured I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for any type of traveler.

Overall: Travelled for leisure as a couple, enjoyed the location but improvements to be made
Room facilities: Modern facilities. Interesting set up with the bathroom being wide open when you enter (not separate to room) but shower and toilet had glass doors separated out. Few ants on the walls initially which we didn't complain about and seemed to disappear after the first room service. Small balcony. Lighting great. Two beds put together to make one large one - comfy although not a true double bed.
Service and staff: Didn't really give any advice on day attractions and palmed off questions to other facilities (e.g. 'go and talk to the taxi driver' or 'go and talk to the massage service'). Not above and beyond. Check in was OK.
Pricing: Reasonable for 3 nights - but there are many competitors so check around as you could get the same price around the same location.
Best part: Great location - 5 minutes walk to Central Festival (the local mall with good information service staff) and close to Tree Town (outdoor market) if you are peckish late at night. A McDonald's is also close but we never used this as why would you if you are in Thailand... Also, a security guard was on site at reception at all times which was pleasing.
Worst part: Probably the reception not being super helpful about questions/answers. Ants weren't super amazing but wasn't an on going issue luckily.
Side note: In house massage service (friendly and clean).
Final word: If you want a convenient modern hotel at a good distance from the beach, this is good. I wouldn't have high expectations, but it did the job.

Originally booked for 2 night x 2 rooms, arrived and parked in open parking space, was asked to move into garage in basement, checked in and The Mind Group being a reasonably large group wouldn't accept my Amex Card. No greetings no drink on arrival as stated on website. Had requested connecting rooms, but no so kids slept next room, room it self was spacious and looked new, but lacked detail clenaing, stains and marks everywhere. Breakfast was average but fresh, egg station cook and female cook very unfriendly, service staff however were helpful and i had bought some avacados and they made smoothie for me, without any fuss. On the 2nd day we decided to extend stay by 1 more night...it would have been quicker to have done it on the website, then they insisted we paid right away, so I went down to pay and the process started all iver again, even having informed the very rude front office manager K. Beam. On Checked out to speed the process i went down first while the rest were few minutes behind, and The very same Mr. Beam wouldn't even entertain to check me out until as he claimed everyone was out of the rooms. Well i waited then had to wait again for house keeping to check the room. O find it strange he couldn't check us out, as the day we checked in there was no electricity and they asked all departing guests to checkout the night before. Strange.... they had left the room yet... K. Beam's and one of the female staff at reception was very bad, basically not worried or interested in customer issues. The Mind Group or the GM should do something about this these 2 staff and the cooks as well as housekeepubg staff are giving this nice property a bad name.

The room design overall is very fancy and new. The lighting modes are great, but there are missing lights directly above the bed for reading. The toilet and shower are great. The sink has a space behind it where it is easy to drop things and hard to collect them. The biggest flaw is no wardrobe to store clothes, only a hanger rail and a very high shelf.
Check-in was quick and easy, very organised. They have massage ladies on premises that can come to your room. The pool area is fantastic. Overall the hotel is very spacious with a grand feeling, and lots of facilities.
Hours for cleaning run later than most hotels, which is good. I filled the laundry bag and left it for the cleaners but they did not automatically pick it up like most hotels, I had to call reception to specifically collect the laundry. Then after that they never replaced the laundry bag.
The ash tray on the balcony has a cool design but they do no clean it unless you call reception and request for it to be cleaned.
The wifi was very slow and most of the time my 4G was faster. The TV would stutter alot.

I was scheduled to stay at this hotel for two nights.
My plans changed and I was sick so I stayed where I was at (Bangkok) because I was in no condition to travel. I called the hotel and was told very specifically that my reservation was not refundable. I realized in hindsight that was my understanding when I booked.
I would argue however that for extenuating circumstances (such as illness) that perhaps consideration in good faith be given to the customer? But it's just greed and a form of taking advantage of the tourist......
I was then told that they would honor my reservation at another time while I was still in Thailand. When I called back to reserve a room for my eventual visit I was told I could not stay there because they "no longer showed record of my reservation"
SCAMMERS.......
I can't say whether or not this a decent hotel but based on how they handled my situation and having made my way to Pattaya, I can tell you there are hundreds of hotels and out of principle to NOT stay at Hotel Amber.

We stayed here for a whole 2 weeks. It was by far one of the nicer hotels in Pattaya and the pool area and room alike were lovely! Obviously we spent the extra here to treat ourselves and like another guest mentioned we never received our welcome drink that we paid for in our package.. We were actually really struggling having been on a night flight with no sleep and one of us unwell also.. we couldn’t help that we had arrived early. The staff did absolutely nothing to speed the check in time along and they let us sit out by the pool for nearly 3 hours with our bags whilst we slept on chairs. I went in 20mins before the check in time of 2pm to ask if the room was ready and although it was and probably had been for hours.. one of the less polite of staff said to another.. `no 10 more minutes’ like seriously??? We’d paid for 2 weeks of stay in the same hotel.. surely you’d want to make sure we were looked after!? We did managed to get the key.. who knows maybe they charged us on the room tab! We spent the holiday tipping every single time we ordered a drink etc and Whilst there I accidentally broke a glass.. they entered the room whilst we were out and left a note with a picture of the glass demanding that we report to reception to pay for the glass that was probably cheaper than we were charged. It’s a shame because the hotel is absolutely lovely but the reception staff ruin it! Just to say though the bar staff were lovely! We’d stay again because the hotel is nice but miserable staff can really destroy the reputation of a place

pattaya during covid is very special. the beaches are empty and clean (almost) and the hotels provide nice promotions. one could think the service level would be according to the prices the hotels offer and my experiences have been mixed. but the amber hotel in pattaya is an example of how to make guests cone back. the amber hotel provided excellent service, friendly staff, clean rooms and a good ambiance dispite covid and all restrictions. congratulations to the management and i will definitely will be back to the amber hotel when i come to pattaya again.

The hotel is extremely picky one small matters. Like asking for extra water they want to charge 10 baht, ask for extra coffee also chargeable and loss keycard is 200 baht. The room price we paid is considered a high premium compared to other hotels. On top of it the hotel behavior is like a budget hotel.
The breakfast spread is really poor, no cold dish available and variety is limited
