The hotel itself is quite small and this creates a pleasant atmosphere of some backstage. At the reception upon meeting you will receive a welcome drink. Spacious rooms with balconies. The mattresses on the beds are hard orthopedic, made from traditional Thai rubber. The bathroom is comfortable with a bath and a mini set of shampoo, soap and shower gel. Sufficient number of cabinets. Room cleaning daily with towel replacement. The hotel is decorated with pleasant additions of decor and furniture in traditional Thai style. A cozy courtyard with a flowering garden and a large swimming pool. Breakfast buffet included: two soups to choose from, daily fish, chicken and pork dishes with different vegetable options, also a potato dish, steamed rice, fried bacon, ham, juices, milk, yogurt, breakfast cereals, assorted fruits (melon, watermelon, pineapple, dragonfruit, papaya, bananas). Sliced vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage, greens, corn. And also boiled quail eggs and crab sticks. Various sauces and spices are served separately and everyone can season the dish to their own taste. Single-serve tea bags, coffee from a coffee machine. In your presence, they will prepare scramble or glaze from chicken eggs, and fry fresh pancakes. There is a toaster for making toast, a mini-oven for heating croissants and puff pastries.
The hotel is located on the first line from the beach, so we swam in the sea and used sun loungers in the garden by the pool, because it was more pleasant. Beach towels are provided at the hotel. However, in the off-season it can be windy and therefore dirty, then it is better to go to Koh Larn if you want a day at the beach. I consider the location to be an advantage of this hotel, because... This is a fairly eco-friendly coastal area with an excellent promenade along the sea. Along the way, you can get a massage in a salon, currency exchange, shops, cafes, a night market with excellent street food and fruit, as well as a sports ground where sports traditional dance classes of varying difficulty are held every day. Which means it won’t be boring. Even in the evening, a singer sang in the hotel bar, where you can pleasantly sit with a view of the sea and enjoy a cocktail. But there is one unpleasant moment: our room was just above the kitchen, so we heard quite a loud knock from there late in the evening and early in the morning when we were preparing food. Sometimes we tried to sleep during the day, but our rest was also interrupted by the same noise. And another small drawback: the air conditioner grille is dirty and dusty; my husband removed and cleaned it himself. Also, the cosmetic set does not include toothpaste, toothbrush and body lotion; I had to buy it in the store.
In general, the holiday was not bad.

There's plenty of room for improvement here! Overall, however, we were satisfied. Location, pool and room size are very good. The complex is quiet and in the evening no party hustle. Breakfast is mediocre there is no tea, no cheese, no sausage and a coffee machine for a complete hotel, this was also broken on departure morning! The pool is the highlight of the facility alledi gs caution is advised here, the edging deck is made of wood with massive holes and there are even screws high. Only with FlipFlops!!! I think it's more like a 3* resort. The beach is hardly usable, as the sections are leased and stand up to the water loungers and umbrellas. Here the hotel could have rented a section for the guests. The taxi to Bangkok when booked through the hotel is 20% more expensive than the list price.

The house is an older, traditional Thai hotel on Dongtan Beach in Jomtien. Excellent condition, well maintained with dedicated management and staff. The location I find optimal, right on the beach, separated only by a narrow shore road, but also equipped with a large pool and sufficient loungers. You can also eat great in the hotel. Rooms are air-conditioned, lobby, reception and dining room are open and equipped with fans. Very rich breakfast buffet. The consistently friendly treatment of the guests is also positive. In this hotel category, the house gets the review from me very good, I will gladly come back. The only clear minus: an extremely bad wifi/wireless lan, which has not improved. Netflix, youtube, facetime is not predictable with the hotel wifi.

There are many shortcomings here, such as:
1) Guests get towels and keep the shady spots free, even though they are not there all day and this is tolerated
2) Bath towels are dirty and have holes in them
3) Lifeguard/towel issuer unfriendly to guests
4) Even though I booked a suite, the closet is only 30 cm wide and you can hardly hang anything in there because the safe next to it is too high
5) Bathtub is gigantic in the bathroom, but the sink in the hallway consists of a poorly installed kitchen sink (disgusting!)
6) Make sure you count everything in the minibar!!! I should pay for something I never consumed. There is no evidence to the contrary.
7) Rooms are dirty, anyone can open the doors from the outside with a tool, bed linen already stained with blood when you move in, cleaning lady is sloppy and only does a cursory clean
----never go back to this hotel----

Staff very unsympathetic. Refused to change my booking when in high season they can easily rebook the room at the same price. I will therefore require that my room be empty for the duration that was planned for my stay since I cannot cancel or change the dates.

Relaxed at this hotel from the end of December 2024 until January 2, 2025

Take a superior room, experience only positive, quiet area, walking distance to the city center and to Parthamnak, drive tuk-tuk, sea across the street, around a bunch of shops, massages, pharmacies. Staff are polite, smiley, daily cleaning, normal breakfasts (not Turkey 5*, but there was plenty to choose from). The hotel guests are mainly European and Russian.
A very cozy small area, our windows did not look out on the pool, but the view was also quite acceptable, to the right the sea, ahead of the palm trees and the building of the nearby hotel. In the evening live music, in the hotel restaurant you can eat, quite decent cooking. Very green territory, a clean swimming pool, around which there were always several free sunbeds.
Unfortunately, for 2 days of vacation had to move to another hotel (our room was already occupied for these days). The hotel south, in the same price category, came in and were upset, Avalon was much cozier and better, so a word about the room. The room is very spacious, the mattress is hard (for the amateur), the pillows are not very comfortable, there was a window to the bathroom, but it is closed permeably by the sashes on both sides (it turned out not to be so everywhere), there were no doors to the next room, a large wardrobe, minibar, safe. But what is most important is the pleasant feeling of “home” for a few weeks, cozy and spacious.
The rooms are tired, but not critical.

I would also recommend to others to come back here.

One big complaint, then all good news:

Chairs in dining area make terrible, loude noise when moved on tile floors!!! Easy to buy nylon pads on the net, and cheap. They should! Breakfast constant sound of chairs as people got up for more. Told staff and they were like, yeah yeah, nice story. Can i go now.

Now the good news:

Very nice and we will be back. Stayed there for several nights. Breakfast had bacon! Yay! Toaster shoots toast way up in the air and it lands where it likes. Prefer the conveyor belt toasters but this one was amusing.

TV takes USB for our movies, shows and importantly, white noise.

Whole hotel and rooms all nicely done with dark wood. Lovely.

Could use a high hedge along beach road to block out ugliness and noise (but a bit of sea as well).

Location great.

Maid trolly had no clean glasses indicating they wash glasses in the sink. I guess almost all hotels are like this, though. Yuck!

Staff awesome.

Great pool with lovely flowers from trees landing on the water surface making it beautiful.

The location is nice, just a stone''s throw away from the city, it''s easy to get to Candlelight Beach and in the city, get inside and have good parking.
The receptionists were smiling, and the Welcome Drink was a delicious herb.
The overall room size is a good value for the price, but it’s hard for the hotel to check the smell of the room before the customer stays, as the smell affects the customer’s first feelings.
The clean bathroom is not too small, it's not too big, it's nice, but because of the bath area, there's no room for a bath, this could be an accident.
The Standard breakfast is generic, but it’s hard to improve on the food additions that frequent customers may want to check for.
Staff are just taking photos at work, wanting to care more about the amount of food?
Outdoors are great, with beach area, clean pools.

This is my sixth time staying at the Avalon Hotel. Room 327 on the third floor, pool view, sunny side, from November 4-20. A wonderful quiet, calm hotel, not for parties, large spacious rooms, massive furniture, enough storage space, hot water all the time, small plasma TV, air conditioning worked in several modes, I did not notice it, a spacious balcony, where we sat and ate in the evenings. There is a lot of vegetation on the hotel grounds, mostly sun loungers slightly in the shade, sometimes small flies bother you. There is a small gym, this year the treadmill did not work. Excellent location, everything is nearby - the beach, cafes, a 7Eleven grocery store on the corner, a tuk-tuk. It takes 15 minutes to get to the center of Pattaya by tuk-tuk for 10 baht. Polite helpful staff, excellent food for every taste, a sufficient selection of dishes, there is a coffee machine, good coffee, but the tea disappointed me. In the evenings we sometimes dined at the market near the Pattaya Park Hotel, lots of tables, delicious and quick cooking, music playing. I'll definitely come back.

6km south of Central Pattaya. 10 minutes by car. This resort hotel has an excellent location with Dongtan Beach right in front of it, but it was full of problems.
●Room
Superior Twin
The room is about 49㎡ and spacious, and there is plenty of storage space in the closet, making it convenient for long-term stays. The floor is marble, so it is cool and comfortable, but the sound of dragging chairs is loud, and the sound is annoying from the neighboring room and the room above.
The door chime is broken and cannot be used, the phone is broken and cannot be contacted at the front desk, and even if I complained to the front desk, they did not seem to be interested in repairing it.
The bathtub is large, but the water pressure in the shower is too weak, so the water trickles out and is lukewarm. It takes about 50 minutes to fill the bathtub with water, and by the time it is full, the water has cooled down even more and I cannot get in. I told the front desk about this, but there was no improvement during my stay. There is also no hand shower, which is installed in most Thai toilets.
● Facilities and equipment
The carpet in the common corridor is worn and dirty, and does not look clean at all. The elevator is old and dirty, and although it is fine for employees to use the same elevator, the staff uniforms are dingy and give a very bad impression.
The wooden deck by the pool is damaged and faded due to aging, and the mats and parasols for the deck chairs are also torn, which ruins the resort feel.
Also, I can tolerate construction during the day, but the construction noise from drills can be heard from above the room from 5am, and when I complained to the front desk, the construction stopped temporarily, but resumed again at 8am. This is a hotel that has no consideration for its customers at all.
● Front desk staff
The front desk staff never smiled, and their service was like that of a government office staff member. They smiled when talking to each other, but never smiled at guests, and had zero hospitality mind. The service of the female staff who are almost always on-site was particularly terrible.
● Food
The breakfast was decent, with a wide variety of dishes, salads, and fruits, but the bread was bad.
Also, while it was bright and fine in the morning and afternoon with natural light, at night it was almost completely dark with almost no guests, and it was creepy and I didn't feel like eating there.
● Overall rating
I can imagine that when it opened, it must have been a very fine luxury resort hotel, but almost no measures have been taken to prevent deterioration, and most of the equipment and facilities have exceeded their useful life. This hotel has reached the stage where it should be completely renovated. Furthermore, the fact that the staff does not seem to be willing to make up for the shortcomings in the facilities with softer aspects further lowers the hotel's dignity.
