"Shewe" means life, "Wana" means forest and nature. "Shewe Wana" means life returning to the forest.

Shewe Wana is a small cozy boutique style resort in Chiang Mai city. We are an environmentally friendly resort, using natural products made by Chiang Mai local people. We are located about 15-20 minutes by walk from resort to Chiang Mai old city. It is located on the main road to the railroad station and a few minutes walk to the Ping River where you will find a variety of international restaurants, pubs and cafes. It is also just a short walk to a Buddhist temple and a local market name "SAN PA KHOI" where you will find a delicious assortment of northern Thai food, fruit and confections. We offer complimentary 'tuk-tuk' shuttle to the night bazaar and railroad station and van service to the airport.

Shewe Wana Boutique wing A cozy boutique resort with two room types; Superior Double room and Superior Twin room have Thai-style wood furniture and windows that open to a view of the lovely garden and pool-side setting.

The room was clean and people were very nice. The pool looks like a little jungle. My only change would be a more secure lock on the inside of the hotel room door. Usher wise I would definitely recommend it!

Although set in a busy commercial street, once you enter into this hotel grounds you are in a beautiful green and eco site. Lush green foliage and winding paths lead you to the eco style properties. My wife and I booked a Superior double room which was spacious, had a huge four poster bed with mosquito net, separate lounge and two bathrooms. The lounge can be used for further sleeping if needed. There are two pools on site, Massage facilities and restaurant. Breakfast was lovely and in a fantastic setting next to one of the pools. The staff and reception are all very friendly and willing to help with booking tours for you. They arranged a 4 hour trip for my wife and I with a guide who picked us up from the hotel late afternoon and took us to the mountain scenic views to watch the sunset and showed up lots of sites and a tour of one of the local palaces. The hotel is not directly in the middle of the main tourist areas but it is not that far can be walked. They also offer a free shuttle to the markets daily. There are restaurants and shops near by and banks currency exchange all within easy walking distance. Really loved this hotel and would highly recommend.

Stayed 4 nights whilst visiting Chiang Mai, we wanted a hotel with character an that’s exactly what we got. We booked a superior room which was traditional and large. The breakfasts were excellent you could have anything cooked to order. The staff were extremely friendly and the 2 hour Thai massage was amazing.

Our stay was wonderful. The staff was delightful. I loved the garden pool and the breakfast was amazing. Please do yourself and favor and book the massage. Nice proximity to the night market and the hourly shuttle is a plus.

Very friendly staff! They help us around, a lot! I had food poisoning from street food, and spent an entire afternoon at the hotel, they were very helpful! Great location if you want to be a bit away from the loud crowd, but still on a safe walking distance! Room was clean, fresh and simply well decorated! loved the garden, had a grandma's house feeling.

Small very friendly resort. Characterful resort with small pool, and a small number of comfortable loungers.. Excellent breakfast and plenty of places to eat and the night market only a short walk away.

Lovely small hotel with a few villas and rooms. We stayed in a room which was nice and came with a great big bed and en-suite toilet and shower which were really nice. Place had an authentic Thai feel and centred around a very green courtyard. Two nice pools although due to limited sun were pretty cold. Breakfast was great with a modest but complete selection, including eggs and avocado on toast etc. along with some Thai bits and bobs. Only comment was the doors to the rooms had a traditional locking system with a padlock so as a couple if one person went out of the room the person in the room would have to leave the door unlocked to allow them back in without disturbance, but this is a small constructive criticism, don’t let that put u off. Free shuttle up to the old city was a nice touch, although it was only a 30 minute walk along a safe road which we enjoyed back to the hotel into the late evening. Staff were excellent and hospitable, answering questions and resolving issues as required. I would suggest the villas are probably for families, and the rooms are for couples young and old.

We loved our room at the Shewe Wana Boutique Resort. We are a family of 4 travel with a little and loved that we had a separate living area and kitchenette. Also a huge patio and luggage room! We were able to put our little to bed and we could stay up later vs traditional hotel rooms. We really loved the property and all of the water features. It was very serene. And the staff and breakfast buffet were the best! So friendly and prompt. They even made me a special kind of coffee each morning with coconut milk! And they were super attentive to our children. The only down side was location to restaurants and shopping. But everything was just a short tuk tuk ride away! We would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for a few night on our journey through Thailand. A beautiful, peaceful hotel with old style chique. Really lovely staff at the front desk and around the small resort. When I booked I had made an error and was expecting a larger room, this was entirely my fault but the hotel chose to move us to a larger room free of charge. The rooms are quaint with local theme to their decoration, and a lot of thought has gone into making sure that they take care of the environment where possible. The breakfasts have been talked about on here a lot. It is all true, is a great experience, and nothing is too much trouble. We also received an amazing welcome in their cafe next door when we went in for a delicious lunch. This hotel is not your usual glass and concrete high rise. It is thoughtful, clean and so welcoming. A special shout out to Rose on reception, and the rest of the team.
