Lamphu house staff were attentive, kind, and provided a clean and relaxing base for our northern Thailand vacation. The location is in a great spot of Chiang Mai, with great markets and restaurants very close.
The location is the only thing positive about this budget hotel. The rooms are more like a prison cell. Gray concrete floors and walls. No shower curtain, hand soap or any other of they usual items provided by most hotels. There were 2 small containers. 1 shampoo and 1 bath gel. No hand soap. (During the Corona Virus scare) This was for 2 adults. 2 bath towels that felt like sandpaper. 2 cups that were not in sealed plastic. 1 shower cap. No shower curtain. No hot water maker for tea or coffee. No fridge, or safe in the room. 1 bed, 2 pillows, 1 comforter. No decor of any type. The breakfast was decent and the staff is very nice. The room appeared clean, but the floor could use a good mopping. I stay in Chiang Mai frequently. It won't be here again.
Hotel is in good location, everything is very near and Sunday market is right on the next street. We stayed there for a week and it was very ok, although there was no sound isolation and we could easily listen what was happening in rooms next to us, for example if someone is having sex. This place is ok for couples but for families with little kids is better to find other place to stay. Pool is really nice with cool relaxing area, but if you want to sunbathe then there is only 2 sun chairs in sunny area and you have to wake up early to grab the chair for sunbathing. But if it is not necessary to sunbathe, then you can relax under the shade. Staff is young and they don't have service training, but they are very friendly.
All and all a very nice stay, excellent location (nice quiet alley close to everything), friendly staff, clean room, a/c in the room, nice balcony with nice views and you can extend the room with balcony. But no fridge nor safe box in the room. Lock on the door was very flimsy. They have safety lockers in the reception but those are basically on the street. Rooms have no sound isolation whatsoever, so basically a community life. Our neighbours mated quite often :) Bed must have been an ancient oriental tortue device because you literally sleep on plywood. If you have lower back problems, choose another place. Breakfast was nothing special with regular scrambled eggs and toast plus some other western options. But i have own it to them that the hot coffe was actually one of the best that we had in Chang Mai. …
Great location in old town chiang Mai. Close to two of the main gates and within walking distance of the night bazaar. Everyone on staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is included and had lots of great options. Our flight left early in the morning, and they even packed a breakfast for us and got us a cheap ride to the airport. Pool area is very nice as well
