Great hostel in Chang Mai. Lovely restaurant in hostel serving tasty thai food. Facilitated organising day trips for our group for the four days we stayed there. Highly recommend and excellent value for money.

Upon arrival we were greeted and asked to set our bags down relax a bit to go through our check-in process. Which included a set of "rules." Which is understandable. The room was a simple furnished with 2 twin beds, colorful; however, a bit dark. It does not get much natural light into to the room. The Bathroom was quite large- but no complaints. They offered a simple breakfast during our stay, which was nice to get our day started without an empty stomach. Also, they lock up the doors at a certain time and must ring the doorbell to get in- which did make it feel safe to get into as they wont just let anyone in without a key late at night. To sum it up is was a decent place to sleep and shower before venturing out in Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai was my last stop in Bangkok and boy did I save the best for last! I was a solo traveler and I chose and all girl room and my roomates where so chill! Stela, the owner, is great at bringing people together and attending her guest. Great eateries in the area inlcuding restaraunts, night markets and the hostel itself. The mall is walking distance which is cool because the mall is huge and resembles an indoor market. The night life is about 15 minutes away at Zoe in yellow which seems far but Tuk tuk's are super cheap in Chiang Mai especially the big red ones always try those first!

This was such a disappointing start to our holiday. We read all the good reviews on tripadvisor and thought it would be fabulous, but no. First, it is quite a long walk from the main area where the gate is and then even further from the market. There is not a whole lot special in the immediate environs. The hotel is a bit like a garage on the ground floor, and then there is the cafeteria zone. Ok, so what went wrong? The staff! The woman there was incredibly friendly wjhen we checked in. I mean I have never seen anything like it - when we walked in it was like we were her long lost best friends. It was incredible and we both thought what a lovely lady. We were then shown our room which was simple but fine and colorful. All good so far. But we were then told to come down to book our tours. I mean what? Nothing on the booking site said we had to book tours. So anyway, after a rest we went down to the cafe area for a drink and were immediately given these big menu brochures for tours. We said we just wanted to see Chiang Mai and didn't want to travel, but the amazingly friendly woman said just look through them all anyway. So we briefly had a look while having our drink. She then came back and asked us which ones we wanted to book! We had already told her we were not interested in her tours. She then got really stroppy and we then saw her true self. She was utterly false. So friendly on checking in but as soon as you say you don't want her tours, she really shows her true self and interests. After this we were so uncomfortable and tried to spend as little time as possible in the guesthouse. Needless to say she never offered us a smile during our remaining time there. Wow! And all just because we just wanted to chill in Chiang Mai and not buy her pushy tours. So no, I shall not recommend this place as it is honestly not worth the stress and hassle if you don't want an overpriced tour.

Very nice hostel, it is very very clean! Tge dorm rooms are only 4 beds with a bathroom so it's really nice. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The only con is that it isn't the most social hostel

Stela is great help and looks after all her guests (especially the Irish) with great tours. Location is slightly out of bar area but it's a short walk so don't let it out you off. Recommend booking elephant retirement tour through the hostel

Myself and my two friends stayed here for 6 nights and its ideal base for backpackers as we were out and about most days on trips, its quite centrally located to the Night Bazaar and Tuc Tucs and Red Vans pass the door every minute so easy to get from A to B. The Green Tulip House does exactly what it says, providing comfortable, bright, clean, ensuite rooms with the option of A/C rooms or ones with fans, there are both dorms and private rooms. We stayed in a private room which was great, we had two lockers to lock away valuables when out and about which was handy. Stella, the owner, was very friendly as were the rest of the staff. We enjoyed our stay in Green Tulip, the only thing I would mention would be to offer more for breakfast as being Irish, 2 slices of toast and Oj wouldn't be very filling but at the same time it was good. Thanks Stella and Gang!

Clean hostel, air conditioning works, good layout so it's easy to meet other people (especially during free breakfast!), easy and hassle free booking excursions through the hostel directly (you don't even need to do any research beforehand!). Overall great and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.
