This hotel is a 10/15 minute walk away from the old town. There is not much to do around the hotel itself but old town is in walking distance. The room was clean and big enough. The only thing we found was that the air conditioning was not working properly and did not give out cold air. Breakfast was nice, eggs were made to order. For the price we paid I cannot complain.
I had a great time in Chiang Mai in overall but this hotel was disappointing. shower was leaking, room was too dark, bed was not comfortable. payment process was very confusing. Many things need to be improved.
I think this hotel is pretty good. My family and I stayed there and were pleased with the room, the service, and the people. My wife got a massage that I booked through the hotel. The masseuse had a bad vibe and kept on asking her for more money, which wasn't cool, but that's not really the hotel's fault. The breakfast is decent, not amazing, but it's included in the price and since the hotel is a good deal it's pretty good. The staff was helpful whenever I needed something for our baby. Honestly, I'd recommend this place, I think it has a good value.
All and all an OK hotel.. Not amazing, not terrible.. The room was nice and spacious, but the balcony was not usable as its mostly taken up by the hot air conditioning equipment. The breakfast wasn't great.. Everything was cold. They had the equipment to keep things hot, but didn't bother using it.. There is a rooster outside that starts crowing at 4 am.. The location is OK, but the area it was in felt a little unsafe..
I booked this hotel in Booking.com. Trusting its like the other accommodations where you pay in the property or have notices of when is the deadline for cancellation, this hotel charged my credit card when I reserved rooms and did not bother to inform that they have charged my debit card. I had to call my bank branch in the Philippines to find out why I had a 52k plus debit on my account at 2 AM Philippines time. A day after the incident I decided to drop by Nordwind to check it out. Didn’t like what I saw, location a bit off for what it’s charging and cancelled my booking. Still no messages or information that I will not be given a refund should I cancel. The only time I knew they charged me was when my bank told me Nordwind Hotel was the name of establishment that debited my account. I called them, booking.com to no avail. This hotel got the payment and most probably sold the room again. I am hotel owner myself and this experience is likeable to a scam. I have advised them to inform guests of these strategy or better not be part of Booking.com at all. …
