Such a shame to hear bad reviews although I have no doubt they are true. I have stayed at Julies twice on my travels 5 years apart. The half owner is a very laid back German guy whom was really helpful. When I asked about renting a motorbike he actually took me on his moped to a garage, I didn't... More

After seeing Julie guesthouse recommended in The Lonely Planet we were eager to stay. Our first impression was good. The lobby had a nice ambiance, and the room looked quite cosy, although it was dirty: the ceiling was covered with mold, there were hairs to be found everywhere, the sink was ultimate gross. We had the impression the room was... More

A lot of nice poeple and a very good athmosphere, music, drinks, happiness. Close to the night market, and nearby the river and all the small stands selling fruits and food. You can order some tickets to go somewere (for example muay thai boxing match) or even bus tickets. Definitly a nice place to stay in Chiang Mai.

We stayed in the guesthouse Part II, the newer and smaller one of julies. The chillout area there is also nice, met a lot of cool people here. The dorm was ok but nothing special, the toilet and shower were not very clean.

While I stayed there in July all the other guests were kind of party people and I couldn't sleep all night because of the noise from the garden where the others were drinking and having fun unitl the early morning. I had to change to another place.

I cant really complain about the dirty room, shower and toilet because I paid like 2,50 euro per night.. but I do want to complain about the terrible attitude of the staff. They got really pissed at me one random morning when I was just having my breakfast. All of the sudden they started yelling at me saying I didnt... More

This place was annoyingly loud all night, and the staff was distant and unhelpful. The atmosphere in general was awful, and the communication and customer service were nonexistent. There are tons of better places to stay. I can't describe how much I hated this hole.

I stayed at Julie (1) twice over the past few weeks, once for a night in a dorm and later for 6 nights in a private room that included a bathroom. Both times price were very reasonable (90 baht for dorm!). One major plus about Julie's is that there are A TON of different room options to choose from. And... More

5 Stars for RUDENESS from the owner towards me. I heard her SCREAMING and SWEARING at guests multiple times and she was making fun of others. But I would have left after 2 days anyway because of the BEDBUGS. I can't understand why this place is so popular.

Julie's is the best. great social space where even people from other guesthouse come to. They have fridges where you can grab a beer from. Cheap, I had a single room for 150. Showers are not hot (not freezing either), but who needs a cold shower anyway? I can imagine that it is nice to wear earplugs if you stay... More
