My wife and I stayed for 3 nights en route from UK to Australia and New Zealand. The hotel is down a narrow back street in the Wat Gate district quite close to the river and across the bridge that leads directly to the old city. Despite it’s somewhat deceptive backstreet location it is a wonderful oasis of luxury and splendour which can be appreciated from the photographs on the web site. The hotel has 30 room surrounding a central courtyard which has a large swimming pool incorporating a jacuzzi. We stayed in one of the deluxe suites close to the poolside. This was very spacious with good air conditioning, an enormous bathroom with a huge shower room, bath, wash basins and separate toilet. All the usual bathroom products were provided. A very minor issue was the lighting level in the main bedroom which was rather low and dim. We could not fault any of the staff in any way. They were all so very helpful and eager to please. The restaurant is quite beautiful with inside and outside tabes available. Breakfast, included in the room rate was delightful with a good variety of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, breads, sweet pastries and cooked omelettes with bacon and salad if desired - a real feast. We only ate dinner once at the restaurant in the evening and just had a simple meal so it is difficult to give a full review. It was nice, but seemed relatively expensive for what we had. The hotel provided a shuttle into town 4 times a day and at anytime on request in the evening on a large Tuk Tuk. They will take you to the Night Market area across the bridge. We actually walked across and back several times as it is an easy stroll and it is possible to walk to the flower market, the old city etc. If it is not in the heat of the day. We took several tours and the hotel was very helpful in arranging both group and private car transport. In summary we had a great time, were treated royalty and would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a little bit of luxury during their stay in Chiang Mai.

My husband and I stayed at Puripunn for 3 nights in January. We highly recommend this hotel. It is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Staff are polite and always eager to extend the best service. Breakfast was lovely with great service as usually only 2 or 3 other tables occupied due to the size of hotel. For dinner we walked out to main road and found many local eateries, one had lovely seafood at local prices unlike the Old City where tourists frequented. On the day we checked out at 12noon,our train was only leaving at 6pm. The hotel staff arranged complimentary use of spa room for showers supplying towels etc. We were served cold drinks before we left. Truly excellent service! We can't wait to return for the next trip to Chiang mai.

We stayed here for two nights as a family fo four in early September. There are lots of gorgeous boutique hotels in Chiang Mai, but very few that cater so beautifully to families with young children. Our room was at the quiet end of a hallway and featured a large separate space for the kids to sleep and play in. Everything in the hotel, from the rooms to the bar to the dining area where we ate breakfast, was luxuriously appointed in a colonial-meets-Lanna style that was practical as well as aesthetically pleasing.
The service was exceedingly thoughtful and considerate; upon learning that our youngest has a wheat allergy, the proprietors went out of their way to find gluten free bread for him to have with his breakfasts. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The boys particularly enjoyed the unique pool space (featuring the most comfortable lounge chairs I've ever tried) and the trampoline in the fitness room! I loved the fluffy bed and huge bathtub.
The neighborhood is quiet, just to the west of the moat, but still close to pretty much everything. This was just the getaway we needed, and we'll be back for sure!

I absolutely love this boutique resort. It is overwhelmingly beautiful. Clean and so green right in the middle of the city. The hotel offers huge space and room and has most friendliest service ever experienced in Chiangmai. The landscape is well maintained and gives you an atmosphere of living absolutely near the nature. But in fact, I’m right in the heart of the city , located close to all attractions of river views , temples and art cafes. I must say I am very impressed to find such a lovely place to stay in Chiangmai. It brings me back to the time of the historical Lanna era. Will definitely be back . Perhaps my only choice of resort living in Chiangmai city for now. For a passion of photography, this place makes my vacation perfect when I’m not up to go out from the resort. Thank you Puripunn !

The Puripunn had us happy from the minute we arrived. Lovely and very accommodating, we loved the welcoming and kindness of the staff. This place has a true Thai cultural feeling and that made a massive difference. From the things we loved the most was the rooms, the breakfast was amazing, their spa staff very good and professional, the tranquility of the place in absolute beautiful settings. A short tuktuk ride will take you to the centre of town or a 20min walk. The Puripunn was perfect for us and would recommend it to anyone coming to Chang Mai.

Had a chance to visit Chiangmai last week for a few days and we chose the Puripunn Hotel which we felt was a a great choice. Decorated in typical Thai northern style, this hotel is peaceful and exceptionally clean. Although it’s in a small alley, its location is right in the centre so easily accessible to popular places therefore very convenient. Their service is wonderful, paying details to our every needs. We loved it and would recommend to all who like homely boutique resorts in central location😊

if you go to Ciang Mai, this is really the hotel to stay. It is a surprise: you are welcome in this place close to the ancient city, but in a very isolated and quiet area. This building is in pure classic Thai style, with a swimming pool in the center, many well-kept tropical plants and perfect rooms, where no detail is overlooked. The staff is very kind and helpful, like the owner of the property, who personally checks that everything works very well. the restaurant is available for breakfasts, lunches and dinners with fresh and quality food. What can I say? If you really want to enjoy a special stay and relax in a unique environment when you return from beautiful hikes in the mountains, in the city or from the fascinating shopping in the various markets, this is really the place to be!

Me and my partner are finishing our stay tomorrow at this hotel and we have loved every minute!
The service in Thailand is already great, but at this hotel the service is outstanding! The staff are so lovely and friendly and are happy to help at any time.
The attention to detail is like nothing I have experienced staying in any hotel before. The cleaning service, the incense sticks on outside our room after arriving back after an evening out, the hotel offer an in house laundry service (cost per item), which we used. We received it back only a few hours later, washed, ironed and folded and smelling gorgeous.
The second day was my partner’s birthday, they gave us two free cocktail vouchers, a pancake breakfast which they came out and sang happy birthday too and origami towels laid on our bed when we got back from our morning cooking class. They made it so special.
Our room is absolutely spotless and the attention to detail and decor is stunning. Facilities are amazing, clean towels on the side of the pool. Pool beautiful with a jacuzzi which is hot and relaxing.
The breakfast is fabulous with great options. Fresh fruit, eggs (which they cook any way for you as requested), fresh fruit juice, pastries, great milk alternative ( I had oat milk), meat, cheese, olives, cereal, yogurt.
The hotel is a short walk to the old town but they also offer a free shuttle service to the night Bazaar market and to the old city wall gates. Amazing service!
I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone! Thanks so much for a beautiful stay.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel! I unfortunately dont remember anyone's names. But the staff was absolutely amazing! Everything from welcoming us with cooling towels and refreshing drinks to carrying our bags to helping us plan excursions and lining up transportation. They even made me coffee at 6 am before breakfast was even open so we could go on an excursion we had planned (lifesaving!). The grounds are gorgeous and the spa was amazing. The restaurant was delicious and beautiful. The pool bar was so convenient with great negroni cocktails that were delivered to me as I lounged by the pool. We stayed at many 5 star hotels on our trip and this hotel was by far our favorite experience. Will go back in a heart beat!do yourself a favor and stay here. You will not regret it!

Every detail of the Puripunn Baby Grand Boutique hotel was impeccable. The room felt like stepping into a painting with colors and flowers in every corner. The staff were authenticity happy to be there and joyful with the guests. We’d booked part time at a recognized five star and part time at the Puripunn. We will come back to the Puripunn only for even as the other space was stunning — it was missing the huge heart of Puripunn. In gratitude and respect for providing such a gorgeous experience.

I'm sorry, I just saw this. No, it isn't a very long walk, the only difficult part was navigating the windy back streets. You need a good sense of direction. We normally just walked out to the main street and flagged down a car.

Hello Sally,
Puripunn is about 5 minutes walk to the Nawarat bridge and about 20 minutes walk to Thapae gate which is the main entrance to the old city. Puripunn also offer one-way drop off Tuk Tuk to near by Nigh Bazaar (5 minutes ride) and less than ten minutes ride to the old city.

First of all, please accept our big apology for our late in response. Per your question, we do not have a suite/room that can accommodate all 7 people in one room. I don't remember the food being much more expensive than at nice restaurants around the city. About $7-8 for entrees. Don't remember specifically, but don't remember them being out of whack. (That I surely would have remembered!)
There are more places to choose from in the Chiang Mai area.
