Certificate of Excellence
Baan Orapin, built in northern Thai (Lanna) styled architecture, surrounded by tall longan trees, is within easy walking distance of the Night Bazaar, Thapae gate, riverside restaurants along the Ping river, local handicraft shops, and Warorot market. It boasts an inviting residential ambiance that combines an authentic neighborhood vibe with modern comforts. Baan Orapin is where you will find genuine ambience of a northern Thai home. Located 10 minutes from Chiang Mai Old City, our bed & breakfast sits in the heart of the culturally-rich Wat Ket neighborhood. Wat Ket area was once Chiang Mai’s most prosperous trading hub. Today, it prospers in culture and diversity. Cultural festivities are celebrated here, as it is one of Chiang Mai’s oldest & most historic area. Our location is within walking distance of Chiang Mai city center, but just far enough from the bustle of the city for a peaceful sleep.

Hi buffalochelle, Thank you for staying with us! Reading your kind review brings us great joy. It is such an honor to be considered one of the most atmospheric and memorable places you've stayed anywhere in the world. We've never imagined our place to be the "picture" of northern Thailand, but after hearing your descriptions, we do understand where you're coming from! We're also very happy that you've enjoyed our rooms and antique interior decorations. Pepsi will be glad to hear your compliments for him. It was a pleasure for me to assist you with everything. We'd be happy to welcome you and your family anytime you're in Chiang Mai! Warm regards, Mo

Baan Orapin is a hidden gem in Chiang Mai. The whole place is very quiet and far from the noise of the city. The city centre can be reached either by walk (30 min) or with a taxi/tuk tuk. It is also plenty of places to eat nearby. The swimming pool is very relaxing and

Do each of the rooms have A/C?
Yes, I believe all the rooms have air-con. We have tried three rooms and they were all air-con. To be sure though, you could try emailing the owner, or checking the specifications on their website.

I was there in February. There are many scooters and many people wear masks because of it. Neither myself nor anyone in my party had a problem without masks while we were there.
