A very old hotel with lots of character at a great price. Window with a small balcony, 2 beds, clean building, great WiFi, everything was very positive except the loud music coming from the live rock and roll bar 2 blocks away from 9-midnight every night. Would definitely stay again if coming back to Old City.

Because of the flower festival it seemed like each hostel in town was full so we were happy to find a room there. The room was spare and clean. The staff was friendly and booked for us a jungle trip and a scooter. In February you don't need an a/c.

You'd be surprised at the quality of these beds and the hot showers. If you arrive Chiang Mai in high season, and all the cheap hostels are booked, think twice about that 300bht clean room feel at the Sumit. The staff are really nice and you can catch some beautiful sunsets off the upper floors.

Overall not a bad hotel, it was the only thing I could find open when I arrived at 2 am. The unimpressed receptionist gave me water bottle, towel and soap and I was shown my room by an equally bored-looking bellman. I had paid more for hot shower but it was not even lukewarm. The linen was clean but the... More

If you don't require frills this older hotel offers decent value. Rooms on one side have some view but noisy with night life near by. Opposite side is quiet. I've stayed in both. Beds are unusually soft for here but clean and comfortable. There are fan or some A/C rooms. And the elevator is some times nice if you don't... More

This is probably the best value for money you will find in Chiang Mai (B350/night). We stayed for 5 nights and found the hotel to be clean, and comfortable, and the staff friendly and very accommodating with any request. Everything in the room worked fine. The wifi was the fastest we had yet in Thailand.

Friendly staff.Large room with some furniture. On the second floor where I have a fan room excellent WiFi.When choosing a room make sure the fan is working properly.I had to look at a few rooms before deciding because some fans turn but they don't sweep.

Not a great deal to say about this place other than its fairly priced and does the job. If your stuck and don't no where to stop and its getting late, i doubt this place to be ever full so for 300baht rooms you can't complain. Clean enough, but no backpacker vibe and staff were like zombies. Use as a... More

This is a very good place for a budget hotel. Do not expect gardens or fancy but it is clean and the staff are friendly. It was a quick option for a couple nights but I decided to stay longer. Rooms are cleaned daily. No restaurant but plenty of places with in a couple minutes walk. There is an elevator... More

With it's amount of rooms, it will probably never full. For the price it's stil an acceptable place to go, if nothing else is free (since the hostels/guesthouses in the area with tripadvisor/lonelyplanet/roughguides recommendations are mostly full). The good points are large rooms, clean beds and toilet. We could leave our bags for the rest of the day at the... More
