I really wanted to like this hotel after researching so many others and deciding to trust the positive reviews on here, but in general, I wouldn't choose to stay here again. The check-in was beyond impersonal, I don't even remember the man looking at us. We did manage to check in (very) early at around 11am but apart from that... More

This was my 2nd time staying in this hotel- my last visit was 5 years ago and I enjoyed it so much, I didn't hesitate to stay here again. I did have issues with my room this time (superior room on level 8) as the shower struggled to drain well and curtains didn't close properly, bed side lamp didn't work... More

We stayed in a connected rooms, the age of the hotel is very noticeable. Breakfast and location are the good thing and the shower is the bad thing since it is fitted for short (less the 170 cm) and slim people. The location near the night bazar is great.

Location great, right at the crossroads of Loi Kroh Road (for nightlife) and Chang Klan road (for markets and restaurants). It's a very large hotel so understandably perhaps it's a bit impersonal. The check-in desk is excruciatingly slow and will want a 2000 baht deposit if you decline to produce a credit card. The room is of a strange un-ergonomic... More

The Duangtawan Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand is excellent value for money as it is located steps away from the markets and activities. The rooms are a bit dated but perfectly acceptable with both a tub and shower (I doubt the tub gets used much in the Thai heat.) The higher floors have excellent views of either the mountains or... I gave it three so as to not be an ugly American. Average by my experience in Asia. Poor by Western standards. It's not as nice as it could be. It's also got great potential. If you've been to China, it reminds me of the budget hotels there. It's kind of what you would expect in a remote area- not... More

They have done many updates, but the workmanship was not there. Beds are hard, pillows are nice. I'm posting pictures it's hard to believe ( pool... More

We booked one room for my friend and I. Then when another friend could join, i just booked an additional room as we wanted to give her surprise her for 50th birthday. I wrote an email requesting for their help to buy me a birthday cake - the hotel gave it to us complimentary, a lovely cake with 5 big... More

Booked this hotel through a third party source and was shocked to find a completely different hotel than posted in the pictures (older & deteriorating). Upon checking in, we were asked to wait as our room wasn't ready. Once in our room, I began to notice filth around the room. I'm not talking about a hair here or a hair... More

Location - is terrific, as other reviews have pointed out it is situated close to the night market and well situated for a 10 min walk to the old city. The road opposite the hotel is well frequented by red trucks, so getting transportation is easy. Furthermore, there is a 7-eleven opposite the hotel as well as bike rental. All... More
