We stayed at this hotel years ago when it was The Chedi. Pleased to say it’s still the same hotel with as much charm and style Anantara are doing a great job. We will go back again for sure. The location is perfect and breakfast sat by the river very relaxing. Food and service excellent.
The hotel is situated right in the city by the Ping river. The atmosphere and decoration of the hotel overall was sublime. We particularly enjoyed food here the most. Breakfast was delicious. It might not come with lots of variety like other 5 star hotels we stayed before but everything was well-cooked. The coffee was also tasty. We also tried lunch at the restaurant the service 1921. It was one of the best Thai meals we ever had in Chiangmai. The room we got was quite nice with a partial view of the river. However, there were something we wish could have done better. The hot water shower took so long to be heated. The room also had a coffee capsule machine but the capsules had to be requested which we thought kinda odd. The staff was very attentive, hospitable and top notch in service. Overall we had great time staying here and would highly recommend.…
Anantara Chiang Mai is a beautiful hotel with extremely stylish suites, gardens and a gorgeous river setting. The staff are highly attentive, efficient and thoughtful hospitality professionals. Unfortunately undergoing renovation during our visit we were fortunately moved to a suite away from the construction noise. If you are sensitive to loud noise do consider staying elsewhere. Also, the main pool in the garden was closed although a secondary pool was available in an apartment building a short walk away.
After questions about whether I could even visit northern Thailand during Covid, restrictions loosened somewhat. My original hotel did not conform to restriction guidelines, so I switched to Anantara. Good choice. I have been to Chiang Mai many times. This hotel is well-located right downtown. Seamless, reasonable round-trip transfers arranged by hotel. Warm welcome with chilled drink by Ms. Korbkul, who remained an ally throughout the stay, addressing me by name anytime I walked through the lobby. Very clean room, comfy bed. Non-intuitive A/C which I accidentally shut off one night causing a swarm of mosquitos to sneak through door cracks and descend. I finally woke up enough and called, and the situation was immediately resolved by engineering staff. Great food, including a stellar view of the river at breakfast. I hate buffets, and was so pleased I could order the few items I wanted and have them delivered to my table. Room service was so professional, including a freezer container for my dessert ice cream that was still frozen when I got around to eating it. Front desk very helpful, including arranging car service (the wonderful Mr. Pong car service took me shopping and to temples on successive days). Good, reasonable spa services. The massage was relaxing and the oxygen facial remediated the sunburn I got in southern Thailand. Best, was the excellent service I received in the afternoons at the outdoor bar tables. The host (why did I not get their name?) quickly learned my name and remembered me each visit. They asked about each day's excursions and made me feel well cared for as a solo traveler. I will be back!…
We stayed in this hotel for two nights and booked through the Amex Luxury Hotel Collection. We originally reserved a Garden View Suite and were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a River View Suite. The General Manager met with us and personally introduced himself, which I found to be a very thoughtful gesture. The room had an open layout and was VERY large. Although the room was upscale, the hotel appeared somewhat dated and would benefit from some small renovations/upgrades (especially the bathrooms). The landscaping is gorgeous and well maintained. Breakfast was buffet-style and had a large selection of options. The quality/taste was nothing special in my opinion. We booked massages/facials and my partner said it was the best massage he has ever had. The only reason I am not giving this hotel a perfect review is because the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress seemed old and the pillows were flat. I had two nights of horrible rest. Also, the restaurant was short-staffed when we visited for dinner, and a few of the staff seemed somewhat clueless. Overall, I would recommend this hotel because it offers a great experience; however, a few minor changes would go a long way.…
This is a beautiful resort where the staff put time and effort into every detail. On arrival you are greeted with a hand written note, wine, fruit and local appetizers. Delicious! Every day a new Thai fruit is delivered for you to enjoy after your room is cleaned and every evening a knock on your door harkens the arrival of the turn down team. I stayed for 6 days and it was an absolute delight. The pool is an adult-only oasis where you can quietly read or rest. I found I enjoyed flutter kicks while watching the koi and looking at the lotus. There is an amazing gym if you want to work out including an outstanding yoga studio. Each morning I would eat breakfast watching the comings & goings of the Mae Ping River. My room was on the 4th floor which gave me a nice view of the river and I could lounge outside on my day bed and snooze. The only downside of the room was the spotty WiFi and the room did not have USB plugs which meant I had to charge all my devices on my 1 measly power converter. If they updated their technology this resort would be perfect for me. But it is pretty close to perfection.…
I have heard about how beautiful Anantara Chaing mai is many times and I understand it clearly now. The design of the buildings is elegant and unique. The staffs are so very attentive, energetic and friendly. Moreover, the breakfast is savoury as well as ravishing. Definitely come back here again.
We stayed 2 nights with kids at this hotel. Must say from the time we arrived at the hotel, the car valet, the check- in process, arrival drinks, the tour of the room by Khun Grape all marked as perfect 10. The gym was neat and clean and great techno gym equipment. Spacious and clean. The rooms are very spacious, super clean, every single aspect in the room is well thought of to cater to guest need. For The team, the more I write is less Excellent team members who truly understands hospitality and take care of the guest at every step. Every single team member we met was amazing. Food was great , Tasty and well presented in 1921 restaurant , I recommend the Khao Soi and Kung Pao Chicken. The High tea was great too . the manager at 1921 Khun Burasakoth, her team ( the hostess, servers (1st night can’t remember his name and 2nd night Tam and others very hospitable. Very interactive and true to Thai hospitality. Special Mention to Khun Korbkul (Grape) at the front desk ( she is truly an asset for your team. She remembers guests by their name, always follows up to check upon guests, she was very helpful to find the information for us to go to Night Safari and let us know in time.( kudos to her), she even checked on our experience at the safari as well as the hotel, for me she stands out as an excellent team member, always smiling and interacting with all guest and truly worth recognition. Others were Khun Bajang, The valet team, very courteous and of course the housekeeping team who paid attention to detail for all aspects of cleaning. Lastly, the breakfast was good and the breakfast team was super friendly too. Thanks all. you made our stay worth remembering. We enjoyed every moment at your hotel. we will be back again in future…
Beautiful hotel - gorgeous pool and spacious gym including a studio. Above and beyond service across the board, including check-in, pool and restaurant staff, and concierge. Restaurant is in the building of the old British consulate. Couldn't have had a better stay.
Booked Anantara Chiang Mai for 2 nights. When we arrived, the check in process was very smooth. We were greeted with nice cold towels and a welcome drink. The front desk staff showed us to our room which was very nice, big and clean. Nice views overlooking the main garden area. Bathroom was big with a nice bathtub. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with seats by the riverside. Excellent choices that we could order off a menu and also take by ourselves at the buffet line. Service was excellent. We also sat by the pool to relax and the staff also gave us complimentary water which we thought was very nice of them. We had dinner one night at the restaurant The Service 1921. Service was a tad slow but the food that we ordered was fantastic. They had one of the best Kra Pao Beef that both me and my girlfriend had ever tasted before. Overall an excellent stay, and the farewell drink was a nice touch.…
