We were shown to our room and immediately noticed the offensive odor, holes in wall, ripped mattress, and a spider in the bathroom the size of my palm! The staff thought our concerns were amusing, and their solution was a can of air freshener spray. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! We easily found a much nicer and... More

I rated 5 stars for location and service. I travelled solo and bumped into this gem. It was the only place with a room available. My room was really ugly in comparison to my 5* experience in Bangkok. But my gosh I bumped into I incredible people when I booked a tour to visit North chiang mai and hill tribe... More

The location of Top North Guest house was really cool on an awesome street. The pool and restaurant were comfortable and there were a lot of great places to eat close by. However, the WiFi was really inconsistant and our room often smelled of must and occasionally bad water. It was definitely not the cleanest, but not the dirtiest guest... More

I understand that this is a cheap place to stay so quality is not expected to be great. But our towels had blood stains on it, the fly screen was covered in band aids, the blankets smelt funny and the bathroom was disgusting, I wouldn't even shower in it because it was covered in grime. I'd had better experiences at... More

Was only meant to stay here 3 days but stayed for over a week! Staff are excellent from front desk, maid's and the Cafe downstairs. Has a pool and bar which is great for chilling. Only a 15 minute walk to the market and plenty of bars and restaurants on the way.

Very dirty with sockets hanging off the walls. Looks like the room hasn't been cleaned or updated since 1942. The pool is more like a pond...don't let the pictures fool you! But it does look very nice and is a refreshing dip if you have been travelling for a long time! The best part about this guesthouse is the staff.... More

We had a fan room that we paid 400b a night for an old and outdated room! It was really horrible. The worst place we have stayed thus far! Ant filled room on the 3rd story. Somehow the room was hot with the fan on than it was outside. But one plus it has a pool.

Booked it via Booking. Com for 300bht it was one of the few guesthouses that has 24hr reception. Had to argue the price with reception but sorted out. Good location and has an ATM also. The rooms aren't that clean and the word tlc and maintenance is not a priority there. The staff are okay with acceptable English and the... More

Stayed here in April and I had an amazing time so when I came back now in November I thought I had to come back. Went here and reserved a double room for my friends and also a triple room. The old ladies in the reception said double room for 300 bath a night and tripple room for 450 bath... More

We ended up staying 3 nights at Top North Guest House with our two children in a large family room with AC. Friendly staff, huge room with bunk beds for the children, reasonably priced (800 THB), inside the old city, big pool, great food (you could even get some Danish food which the children loved) and a perfect relaxed atmosphere....
