This was my second time here. Stayed for 6 nights in February. This small family run hotel is basic, but very clean. It backs onto the river and the garden is spectacular. I loved having breakfast on the terrace. It's close to the Night Market and many restaurants. If you want tranquility and charm, then this is it.

This place is pleasant enough. Rooms are a little tired but they are clean and bed comfy enough by thai standards. The owner was a bit aloof. We only tired the pool once as it was so cold. We asked them to order a taxi for us (4) to the airport it was only when we got to the airport... More

Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the taxi fare, we charged a premium for the service because the guest requested a taxi before 5AM. There are not many taxi drivers that operate this early in the morning and therefore the driver wanted to be compensated more for their efforts. We believe we gave our guest time to check around for... More

Nice hotel located not too far from the night bazar, with a good view over the river and nice (cold) swimming pool but.... Very cold and unpleasant owner only interested by the money she can get ( the initial price she mentioned was without taxes that she charged afterwards, she also charged us extra 50 baths to book a cab,... Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the taxi service charge of 50 Baht, we believe that this is a fair price for the service as we have to call and organize with the taxi company. We have noted about our printing fee and have reduced it since. We do offer free WiFi and we have a PC for guest to... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in August. It is a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai but still walkable to most places. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool area. Although the River View Lodge is a bit tired in some places it has a very homey atmosphere with... More

We had a pleasant, comfortable room with balcony overlooking the beautiful garden and pool. The staff were helpful and obliging. River View Lodge is furnished with many interesting items of furniture and collections of ceramics, etc. It is situated within easy walking distance of the night market and other attractions. The property is clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed... More

River View room overlooking the garden is a must. This was our favorite place in Thailand. Unpretentious, charming garden and great staff. Khun Dang is an excellent and generous host. The pool is just right and very relaxing. Breakfast is included with the room rate and they do much to make sure to cook to your tastes. We truly can't... More

If you are looking for somewhere relaxed, quiet and comfortable but still just a walk away from all that Chiang Mai has to offer this is a great place to stay. I stayed there a couple of times this trip and started each day with a lovely breakfast out in the garden by the river. My room was spacious, clean... More

This is a lovely spacious place, with a truly beautiful hidden garden and swimming pool right on the river running through chiang Mai. It's wonderfully tucked away down an alley which provides a nice retreat from the occasional madness of chiang Mai. It's quite a walk to the old city, but it's easy to catch a red truck or tuk... Like a long beloved coat, this property is nicely worn but actually burnished with considerable care and consideration. I was very happy to find it, its home-like comfort, clean rooms, attentive and friendly service, and wonderful garden still in business since my last visit 20+ years ago. For people who do not need to revisit the bustle of Chiang Mai... More
