My wife and I stayed at Empress Chiang Mai for 4 nights - 21st to 25th January. Though initial problem regarding our credit card was irritating, our overall stay was very comfortable and an excellent value for money. The staff went out of the way to more than make up for the initial glitch. Rooms are large and decor is pleasing with all amenities. Breakfast and buffet lunch are sumptuous. The hotel is well-located and we were provided complimentary pick up and drop at airport. Would like to make special mention of Mme Chutikarn, Rooms Manager who was particularly charming.

We stayed in Empress hotel 3 nights in January. It's an old fashioned style hotel with polite and helpful staff. All three days we had many surprises. We start with welcome presents ( see the picture). The room is big with nice furniture and big size bed. Clean lady coming two time at day. First time to clean the room and second time to make the bed and to bring fruit and sweets.
There is spa and swimming pool.
The breakfast is good, a lot of different dishes( you can make European breakfast and eat Thai food). We ordered taxi in the hotel to the airport and it was free.
The location is also good. Close to the night market and 1 km from the old town, close to the river and Art in paradise museum.
Around hotel you can find massage salons and laundry services. In the hotel you can find information about different trips and activities which I recommend ( cheap with guides and full activities).

Stayed one week in Empress 4* Hotel for a conference. Very pleasant staff and clean hotel. The rooms and interior may be a bit dated but is all is well maintained and clean. The room was spacious and bedroom too. The two small minus points were the low shower which means tall people cannot stand straight under the shower. The other point was that the key to the room is old fashion so no key cards and just one key which we needed to share, not very handy. The food served in the restaurant was great local Thai food and also the food served at the conference was very good. The rooms was not very soundproof so we could hear noises from people on the alley from time to time. I can highly recommend this hotel for tourists and also business groups. Hope to come back some time.

Wow I have never experienced customer service like this at any hotel I’ve stayed at previously. The staff here goes above and beyond to make your stay with them amazing. We received an upgrade to the executive suite once we arrived. The bed was the comfiest I’ve had in the past 10 days in Thailand. We loved the complimentary airport pick up and drop off. It was very nice to have someone waiting for us at the airport with our name when we arrived. It was a seamless experience once we arrived in chiang mai. The complimentary breakfast was great as well. We loved the waffles! Lastly, we received one complimentary dinner at the hotel and we felt like royalty during the whole dinner. The waitstaff was amazing and the food delicious. I would highly recommended this hotel to anyone staying in chiang mai. It is close to all the main attractions, 30 minutes walking or a very short and cheap grab ride. Thank you to the wonderful staff at empress hotel for making our stay great!

Check in was a bit disorganised and no welcome drink as you get with many Thai hotels.

The room has twin beds whereas on Valentines night we would have preferred a double! We didn’t book the hotel it was part of a touring holiday by Tui.

The pillows are very bulky and not comfortable. Shower is a shower head over the bath which is low. Water floods on the floor but it’s designed as a wet room.

A red rose was put in the room and fruit which was a nice touch.

Dinner was ok although my husband’s meal came out way before mine and he had nearly finished. They did have a band and happy hour, we we’re given free desserts and flowers for Valentine’s Day, so some very nice touches.

This was the end of the first part of our holiday and we spent two nights here. before we caught in internal flight back to Puckett for the second more relaxing part of the holiday. Hotel was good and of a good quality. Staff were warm and friendly. Because of the corona virus it was very quiet. Pool was OK although too shallow at one end for swimming. Good cocktails round the pool. Restaurant had reduced service because of the Corona virus and low guest numbers but food was good and service was excellent. The associated bar was excellent with a local band playing mainly popular music covers but had live background piano music between sets and great service. Breakfast was in the main restaurant and buffet style so plenty of choice, good quality with good service.

We live in Chiang Mai and recently attended a dear friend's birthday party at the lunch buffet. It's a first class hotel in downtown Chiang Mai, south of the Night Bazarre and has plenty of off street parking too! The lunch buffet was fabulous and served a great variety of savory Asian and Western dishes! Foods for every taste and the deserts were excellent too! All foods prepared with perfection and a very attentive staff. Buffet cost 300 baht per person. Must go back again sometime to sample some of the other dishes that I was too full to eat.

The hotel was very accommodating for any needs. They were a small walk to one of the night markets which was convenient. Otherwise a tut tut would cost only up to 100 baht to get there. Restaurant was alittle restricted for ala carte meals. Breakfast had everything. Good service.

Very sorry! We afraid that our In-Room Safe is not big enough for laptop. However there are big safe deposit boxes available free of charge at Front Cashier.
