The hotel seemed a bit dated, but had some updates. My room was, large, clean and comfortable. My bed had nice bedding and was very comfortable. The staff turned down my bed each night and left an orchid on my pillow. On the first night they left a snack goodie bag as a welcome gift. The staff was friendly. Breakfast... More

stayed here 10 years ago. Just wanted an overnight stay before going to Chiang Rai. No improvement. Check in indifferent. Room decent size. Safe, tea making, robes, hairdryer and ancient TV. Same as 10 years ago. Dull rooms need TLC. It was clean. No free wifi. Location not too bad 10 minute walk to Night Market. Seems to us some... More

Location of the hotel is decent, pretty close to the night market; also it’s familiar to most tuktuk drivers, which helps too. Rooms are spacious, no real view outside though, also furnishing seems a bit dated. Breakfast spread could be better (surprisingly no cappuccino!), food for vegetarians is a struggle here. Courteous staff at the front desk to the concierge... More

we had a great stay at the Empress. The hotel is huge and beautiful. looks better than pictures. it is an old hotel, with an old feel to it, but it has been renovated. we booked 2 connecting rooms for 4 nights. we had a free pick-up from the airport. upon arrival at the hotel, check-in was swift and we... Standard style and build hotel with basic layout. Room insulation not great and you could hear people talking to each other from surrounding rooms. Very nice breakfast selection and hotel convenient for visiting the old walled part of the city. Very happy and helpful staff, had an issue on departure early morning. Pick up to airport failed to arrive at... More

Staying here with a small travel group for 2 nights. We have 6 rooms. This is not a great hotel. The furnishings are old and beat up. The bed needs to be changed out, The mattress is old and cheap and I can feel the metal wires. We are at the end of the hall and there is an access... More

We enjoyed our stay here. Booked 2 rooms, asked they be near each other and we were given connecting rooms which was great with a family. Arrived on an early morning flight and were able to immediately check into one of our rooms, with the second being available less than an hour later. Very much appreciated. The rooms had character.... More

We were booked at this hotel by our travel consultant for just one night as it was convenient for our return from Karen village and return flight to Bangkok. We were upgraded to an executive suite, and it was very nice with well stocked minibar, desk, chairs and western bathroom with shower, sink and all the amenities. However, wifi was... More

The hotel itself is older but very well kept. The breakfast was satisfying not great. The pool area was very nice and was not busy during my stay. The staff was nice, as was expected. The location is good depending on what you want to do. There are a lot of restaurants and massage places immediately surrounding the hotel. It... More
