Huay Kaew is a large residential apartment complex, not far from the old town and very close to Nimman area. It allows short term lease (1 month min.). The price is reasonable but the confort is really basic. The swimming pool is unusuable after 3 pm, as it is in shade, and there are no common areas to socialize. Staff...

I really cant say anything to bad about this place. The only thing is that the toilet could flush better and the bed could be softer. But after all we are in Thailand so i take that as given for everything below european prices. For the price really amazing place.

Huay Kaew is a large residential apartment complex just to the north west of the Old City square. I chose to stay here for a few weeks due to the close proximity to Nimman Rd which is a great area of Chiang Mai in my opinion. It seems like lots of other foreigners think the same thing as there are...

We are back in Chiang Mai and have been at Huay Kaew Residence since July. This is our second stay here. I love having a clean, uncrowded pool to swim in daily! Huay Kaew Residence is clean, simple, secure and in a great location with a wonderful staff.

We have been at the Huay Kaew Residence for the past two months. Today is our last day. We stayed in a lovely, clean studio apartment. There are no frills but the inexpensive rate was perfect for us. The staff is wonderful: professional and pleasant. The pool area is delightful, clean and sunny. I swam every day. The location is...

Despite some of the bad reviews I've got nothing bad to say! Great location. Right next to shopping centre and busy road yet quiet. I went for the cheapest room at 5000 a month plus 5000 deposit. Very happy with the room though it did need a proper clean despite apparently being cleaned prior to my arrival. The communal pool...

This building complex of six buildings is old but would have been OK-ish if better managed. Unfortunately I found out too late about the issues this Residence has been apparently having on several occasions with the Tourist Police. One of the several "unfortunate' incidents: a man was asked to pay for the "replacement" key for the key that did not...

5,000($150)baht for the room and the surprise 5,000 baht bill for electricity when you check out. Find another place. This is not having the t.v. or fridge plugged in and running the a/c at night in a small studio.

I lived 7 months in a so-called luxury room. The Resort area, the rooms, the furniture, the showers are old, worn, damaged partly and dirty. The staff is rude and complaints are ignored. Even complaints to the owners were unsuccessful. Even when repairs will be, it is worse than before. Tip: Better repair itself. High electric power and water bills....

Chiang Mai isn't big you can get where you want to go easily & cheaply anyway so this is a great find. Nimmanhimman the popular trendy area with lots of cafés bars and restaurants is a 10 min walk away too. The rooms are spacious clean & pleasant and get cleaned regularly. Crisp white bed linen & towels, AC, en...

“ask for a room not in a building of young thai or chinese with young kids. you will hear them anyway and the screeching car tires as they leave the parking lot. Huay Kaew Rd. is a very noisy motorcyle area for hot rods. Its noisy area. I sleep heavy so it didnt bother me much.”

“Rooms on middle floors are quieter. Avoid top floors (...apartment will not tell you about loud water compressors on top of apartment buildings, which you will have to listen to all day and night in your room, even with the doors closed). Don't choose a front room in a building in the middle of the complex (when the sun rises, very hot). Try to choose a room on the left side of the complex (example, Building 4) and on the backside of the building. It's less noisy because it faces away from the street.”
