The stay here was really nice, the rooms were kind of small but instead there was a big community room and a community pool, little bit pricey but you pay for the atmosphere. Good information at the counter.

We've just left this hostel after staying there for 3 nights. We had a private room which was basic but clean and had great air con. Very welcoming staff especially Rob, who helped us with printing our boarding passed for us. They offer good trips, we went to cooking class and elephant sanctuary, with discount. Cheap water and beer is... More

I've stayed at Deejai backpackers for 7 nights in total (split over two separate occasions) I went back to stay mostly because of the friendly, relaxed staff & the social aspect. The hostel has a mixture of 4bed dorms with or without AC & private rooms. The rooms are basic but perfect for backpackers that are keen to meet people.... More

This is the best place for backpackers in Chiang Mai who enjoy meeting new people, having some party, but also getting to really know the city and interact with local culture. It is not located in Chiang Mai's backpacker area, which will move you away from the noisy district. Usually, more cultured and educated backpackers come here, but prize is... More

My first impressions of Deejai's were really good. The hotel seemed to offer everything. A wide range of rooms, good food and plenty of extra services such as booking tickets for things to do. The staff also seemed friendly and knowledgeable about the area. However after a few days I was put off. I had multiple bites and was offered... More

This hostel really pissed me off. Basically, do not get laundry done here, unless you want to say goodbye to half of your clothing. They tried to tell me I hadn't handed in my key (therefor needing my key deposit) and were insisting on keeping my deposit. Sure the pool is great, BUT the staff could barley understand me and... We've been here for a few days. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The food is good and cheap and the washing service is great. It's a little more expensive than some of the hostels around but the room quality and social areas make up for it. Plus there is a free pool, only 10minute walk from the main... More

I visited Deejai Backpackers with 5 friends and we had an amazing time. We took the night train from Bangkok and arrived around 8am. Robert at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. He allowed us to check in early and gave us access to the pool right away. He also helped us book tickets for a Muay Thai... More

Great location and nice rooms. Swimming pool is really cool especially at night. Would definitely recommend. Staff were friendly and hard working. 4 bed AC dorm was comfortable. Although, the AC monitor on my bed was right above my head which was kinda cold and a little annoying.

Chiang Mai is a fantastic city with an abundance of intricate temples, staggering hill-top temples and some of the best street food I encountered in my many months in South East Asia. Deejai Backpackers is handily located within walking distance of the Old Quarter centre, but, more importantly, moments from the South Gate which has THE best street food in... More
