My first impressions of Deejai's were really good. The hotel seemed to offer everything. A wide range of rooms, good food and plenty of extra services such as booking tickets for things to do. The staff also seemed friendly and knowledgeable about the area. However after a few days I was put off. I had multiple bites and was offered... More

We've been here for a few days. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The food is good and cheap and the washing service is great. It's a little more expensive than some of the hostels around but the room quality and social areas make up for it. Plus there is a free pool, only 10minute walk from the main... More

I visited Deejai Backpackers with 5 friends and we had an amazing time. We took the night train from Bangkok and arrived around 8am. Robert at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. He allowed us to check in early and gave us access to the pool right away. He also helped us book tickets for a Muay Thai... More

Great location and nice rooms. Swimming pool is really cool especially at night. Would definitely recommend. Staff were friendly and hard working. 4 bed AC dorm was comfortable. Although, the AC monitor on my bed was right above my head which was kinda cold and a little annoying.

Chiang Mai is a fantastic city with an abundance of intricate temples, staggering hill-top temples and some of the best street food I encountered in my many months in South East Asia. Deejai Backpackers is handily located within walking distance of the Old Quarter centre, but, more importantly, moments from the South Gate which has THE best street food in... More

100% would recommend to a friend. Rob (beardy) gives great honest information about how to get the most out of your day and is always on top form with the banter. Was so easy to make friends with such a nice atmosphere both as you enter the hostel and around the pool. The rooms were nice and affordable and to... More

If you can get over the rudeness and sarcasm of the owner, it was a pretty cool place to stay. The elephant jungle sanctuary they you book from them is incredible. Rooms were pretty clean and good place to meet people, but no hot water. People out drinking and chilling till about 4 am if that's your thing, but also... More

We were refused toilet tissue a number of times despite our room not having any. The owner in particular was rude to us at the pool party. This hostel is not for everyone, especially those who want to have some fun. We tried tried to have fun, but were shutdown.

My friend and I had such an incredible time at Deejai - the staff are super lovely, the rooms are very reasonable and comfortable and it's located near to everything you need. We stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm with AC, everything was perfect - all very clean and our other two roomies were very friendly and we ended... More

The hostel is ok. It has a large place to meet people and a swimming pool a few meters away. The room was ok, except that the shower's curtain was full of fungus and there was not toilet paper replacement till next day. Also the garbage can at the bathroom was not clean every day.
