No issues, helpful staff , clean and in a good location within the “walled” part of the city. Given the historic nature it is located off narrow streets - so no obvious parking location close by. Arrive by train though and it is a short hop in a Tuk-tuk . Breakfast down stairs which was fine, happy to recommend.

Nice small hotel. 5 min walking from the Sunday night market. 5 min walking from some temples and close to the night market from the food night market. Breakfast it’s a bit basic but ok. Rooms very nice and clean. Good vibes from the workers. Nice fishes ;)

I fallen in love for this hotel, since 2018, the 1st time that I was there! It's a quite and warm place, with a very kind crew, nice and healthy breakfast, that you can eat nearby a water mirror with some fishes and many plants. Choose the room on 3rd floor, and you can enjoy the birds and squirrel very close, on the trees, and the beautiful landscape! Also has free bike, to ride around the channel of the Tha Phae Gate, visiting temples!!!

Our family of 4 had a loft room on the 3rd floor and we loved everything about this hotel. Our room was nicely set up, spacious, very peaceful and we all slept very well the 3 nights we stayed. The hotel is beautifully decorated with plants and trees surrounding it, beautiful Koi ponds, very clean especially the no shoes policy where the rooms are located. We also appreciated the complimentary water, snacks and bicycles, etc. Staffs are very nice, vert helpful and very friendly especially Koy. Breakfast was very good with many choices and always a few new snacks for everyone to try. They will store your luggage for you anytime with a smile. Location is perfect to walk to everywhere! We hope Gord Chiang Mai will remain exactly the way we found it for it is one of the nicest boutique hotel we have stayed in.…

Nice boutique hotel that come with breakfast. Close walking proximity to old town etc. The receptions are friendly and helpful enough to carry our luggage up to our room. Tips: There isn’t any elevator in the hotel, so pls pack your luggage light or else choose lower floor.

Overall a great experience. The staff are kind and helpful and will go out of their way to accommodate everyone. Birds can be heard every morning and the koi pools really make for a calm setting. Small detractor - water pressure on the upper floors is low. Pluses - rooms get a fresh supply of free snacks and water everyday, 5 kinds of breakfasts to choose from, free bikes to use, and easy walking distance to a variety of places.

The + 1 star for the excellent staff Koy who have been most helpful the minute we arrive at the hostel . We took a night train from Bangkok and arrived at the hostel about 10am before check in time . We request for a place to put our luggages and a shower as the spend a night in the 2nd class sleeper choo choo which does not really gave us a perfect sleep. Koy gladly gave use two towel and show us where to take our shower which we badly needed as we were travelled from Khao Yai before catching a night train in Bangkok. Small group tour for day trips were available at the hostel and Koy gave us a good recommendation . We took a early morning 7am day tour to Chiang Rai and Koy packed our free sandwich breakfast for us to bring to our tour as it would be too early for us to have our breakfast. thumb up.. I gave it a 5 star not because it have 5 star hotel facilities such as swimming pool or gym but it is a 5 star in what we are looking for in a hostel. Beside the great staffs , the place is clean , at the heart of the old city but away from the noise. The hostel are mostly make of wood which gave it a thai feel such as the wooden staircase. There is a nice garden where the cafe is for breakfast . Bicycles are available but I am not sure if it is for free or for rent . We stayed in a king size bed room about the size of a studio apartment . Spacious bedroom with a balcony . The bathroom and toilet are spotless clean and spacious too . We stayed for only 1 night as it was fully booked the next 2 nights so we had to stay in another boutique hotel which was more expensive and given a higher rating from the booking website. Was a bit disappointed as the room was half the size and the bathroom seem build for the hobbit . We would definitely stay in Gord if we are going back again ..cheers…

We are traveling Thailand for our honeymoon and Chiang Mai was our second stop. Or I should say is our second stop as I am currently sitting in bed at GORD writing this review. But for the real reason you are reading reviews, should I pick this place to stay and why... Yes!!! Because...in a country that is overrun by a market centered around tourism not all are created equal and GORD really sets the bar high for our next few stops. Clean rooms Consistent hot water in a very large shower room TONS of free WiFi and it even reaches next door to the restaurant...I’ll be doing a review there as well. Central to everything you need and it’s all in walking distance 24hour front desk help and secured rooms Spacious rooms that literally have living rooms in them as well (Junior suite) Free minibar and snacks Very modern and VERY quiet When, not if, but when, we return to Chiang Mai we will be coming back here. …
