It's a nice, little hotel with VERY friendly staff. The place was really clean! The location is great! Just off one of the feeder roads that surround the Old Town and near one of the best bars in the area. Breakfast is included and good. Just don't expect a lot of options. The rooms are really small and no desk... More

Lovely pool in a pretty courtyard with unusual decorative features. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, and a fridge and aircon in each room. We had a double (not that large, but ok) and a large triple. Bathrooms fine. I don't know why people think there should be a shower curtain (reading other reviews) - it is a wet room so doesn't... More

Extra charge of 3% on credit card because we booked late and could not pay anymore at the booking site!? Bad smell in the bathroom. Very bad finishing of room and bathroom (compare for 3 star standard and the price we paid). The water-pipes are open somewhere because in the daytime only hot water in bathroom even when you turn... Stayed in a ground floor room. The only window looks out into the courtyard - so therefore you cannot really keep your curtains open. The room is tiny. There is no cupboard/wardrobe/drawers. There is no place to put your suitcase (which you have to use as your wardrobe) except the floor. The bedside table is tiny. This hotel appears to... More

I have been to Chiang Mai so many times. Somwang guest house used to be owned by a very nice Thai couple. Now its own by some chinese. Although they renovated the place. It is done in a very messy manner and does not allow anyone to relax in anyway. Staff are one of the worse I have experienced as... More

Stayed here in December 2015. If I return to Chiang Mai, this place will be my first pick. I've visited over 15 lodgings in old city Chiang Mai, and this is my favorite. Pros: - Great location. It's located within the walls of the old city, and, in my opinion, the best part of old city. Very walkable in all... More

My fiance and I started here for nearly a week. The room was good, clean with a fan and bug screens. The attached bathroom was nice. The receptionist had a lot of good information about things to do. Would recommend to another traveler on a budget.

We stayed for a week in that place because it is just incredible, the place is relax, the location is great and the staff was very nice. We shared the room between 2 friends, 150 Baht each, our own toilet and shower, hot water, comfortable beds, VERY good Wi-Fi. I totally recommend this place! And I've been travelling for 2... More
