We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor. It's in walking distance of all needed amenities as well as markets and restaurants. The rooms were large and clean. The pool is ICE COLD so after a day in the heat exploring it's the perfect way to cool down with a delicious cocktail!

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base to explore from. Room was good, staff were friendly. Hot water was a bit of an issue. Breakfast was ok. Best thing about this hotel is the location. Quiet hotel, easy walking distance to the Night Bazar, temples and old city. The pool was amazing. Some have complained about it being too... More

I've visited Chiang Mai with my wife and two kids (2 & 4 years) in May 2016. The de Chai Colonial Hotel is situated near the Tha Phae Gate in a very calm side street. Distance to the old town is around 5-10 min walk and to the night marked at Chang Klan Rd its about 15 min walk. But... More

De Chai is a very nice hotel, very well located in Chiang Mai - walking distance from several attractions, the night market and one of the city gates and very close to a busy commercial street. Nice welcome greetings. Good breakfast.

Really quality stay in Chiang Mai--- great location on a quiet street but just a block or 2 from a very busy area and about a 15 minute walk to the largest night market in Chiang Mai--- the beds are absolutely comfortable, so much so it was hard to get out of it some days haha-- I stayed for 6... Great hotel in a great location. Only 5 minute walk in one direction to the city gate, and 5 mins in the other direction to the night market. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast wasn't amazing but absolutely fine. Air conditioning was strong, the room itself was really nice and the bathroom even more so!

My partner and I enjoyed staying in De Chai in Chiang Mai for 3 nights. From greeting us with freshening towels and welcoming drinks on arrival to saying goodbye by gifting us a small souvenir box with an elephant embossed on the top, I found the entire staff attentive, pleasant and extremely courteous to deal with. The hotel is situated... More

This is a very nice hotel but there seems to be a situation where the manager is likely asleep on the job! (1) The safe in the room was JUST SITTING there. I had to ask the manager to secure it!! The manager said that HE DID NOT KNOW. Apparently it had never been bolted down. Two of the maintanence... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Only 5 mins walking then you can find the massage shop or cafe. Within 10 mins then you can go to the main street, and around 20 mins to reach night bazaar. The only problem was many mosquito in the room, you can't open the room door large.

We were in Chiangmai for 5 days to play golf and relax . Decided on De Chai the Colonial as most hotels near to the decent hotels near the night market area were mainly taken up by an influx of mainland Chinese tourists due to the long holiday season back home. It was a pleasant surprise in terms of the... More
