#108 of 1,307 Specialty lodging in Chiang Mai
Like no others, Yesterday Hotel is, in many ways, represented the influential era of Thai identity during the mid 80s. The most impressive thing about the hotel might not be only its superb convenient location in the heart of the hip city centre area, Nimmanhaemin, where hundred of chic cafes and small shops are surrounded, but it would be also the sum of its elements and services that are inspired by Thai good old days. The building itself was long known as an international kindergarten and has been renovated into the 25-room boutique hotel since 2008. While the exterior is the mixtures of Thai and Colonial architecture, the interior are somewhat cultural unique. Hanging on the wall of each room, the pictures are the collection of the "Mana-Manee", 20 years ago Thai-primary school textbook and illustrates. The antique furnishings from decorative lamps to non-identical handicraft beds simply remind the visitors of such an era of Thai children culture and nationalism. However, the modern comfortable stay is not overlooked. All services such as free Wifi, electronic door lock, bicycle, safety box, hair dryer, complimentary herbal hot drinks, 24-hour front desk together with many of other amenities and services come as standard in the Deluxe room type and above. Despite the fact that Yesterday Hotel tries its best to provide the most convenient location and comfy stay; above all, for those visitors who are long wishing to wake up oneself childish soul, perhaps... this might be the place.

We stayed 2 adults and two children age 4 in a two bedroom room. The beds are really nice (stiff but not too hard, two choice of pillows), very spacious bathroom. A little noisy in the corridor outside our room, but never during night. I would consider coming back.

This colonial style house in Nimmanhaeminda used to be an international kindergarten until it was converted to be a 25 room hotel in 2008 by the family owners . A great location with on site parking . Nice staff ,a good coffee shop and overall a pleasant place to stay in a relatively unique setting .

Like stepping back in time, even to the flat screen TV framed behind an old TV surround. The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. There is a snack room offering unlimited bottled water and biscuits from 11:00am to 7:00am. A great location for the Nimman area with lots of great coffee places and restaurants within walking distance. It’s under the flight path, planes stop from around midnight until 6:00am, it didn’t bother us but may others.

This was the 2nd time we stayed in this hotel and not sure if we will come back here. The pro of this hotel is the location. The name of the hotel covers it all, Yesterday. The hotel has a “vintage” look which is nice, the rooms are ok and the family room is good. However there’s a thin line between vintage and no maintenance. During our stay I noticed several things that could use some maintenance but not done. If you have the choice between with or without breakfast, I advice take without because the breakfast is a laugh. You can go to the restaurant and you can order 1 dish (i.e. fried egg, croissant or rice soup) depending of the room you can choose. For the drinks (as coffee) you have to pay. Better to book without breakfast and go to one of the many restaurants near the hotel. There is a room on the 2nd floor and the snacks are complementary, it’s closed from 07:00. Taking the price in account and the services I’m looking for something else in the neighbourhood.

The hotel's theme is classy vintage, from its ornaments to furniture, everything takes you back to the prewar era. I stayed here for three nights and booked a deluxe room. Place is secure, with RFID entrance to your assigned floor and room. My booking didn't include free breakfast but they still gave it to me for free anyway. Choices are limited to croissants but with rich filling options such as cheese and eggs, bacon, sausage and fress veggies on the side. The cafe serves great coffee, hot and cold, and it's prepared intricately as Thai people normally do with their food. Bathroom is okay, with bathtub and bidet. They have a snack bar with unlimited supply of bottled water and local confectionery for free. Perhaps my only concern is the yellow lighting in the room. It somehow gives you the creeps. If they could have just one white/daylight type of bulb, that'd be perfect.
